Harry’s legal proceedings against Home Office

SnottyLottie · 24/03/2022 20:46

Part of Harry’s claim will remain private. The judge has granted that some documentation can be withheld or redacted due to security reasons (seems sensible to me).

But today the judge has berated Harry’s legal team for breaching the court rules when a copy of the rulings were emailed to someone who’s wasn’t a lawyer. Lawyer Shaheed Fatima WC was also berated for coming into court without an apology for the “clear breach” of court rules.

Ach - I can't see racism about Meghan on the whole - but then I am not privy to what they have been sent etc but maybe I am just naive - I thought she was welcomed wholeheartedly. But but I don't know.

@Why2why

Great posts from you.

tigger2022 · 02/04/2022 07:12

Yeah… I don’t see how they’re being hounded. Their old job and new job involves courting press. Journalists give them coverage but it won’t always be flattering because that’s their job. They haven’t chosen to go and live a private life, their new job is making money by spreading gossip about their family and using our courts to sue everyone. If anything, Prince Harry is hounding US by keeping us updated on every daft thought that crosses his mind.

Roussette · 02/04/2022 07:27

Apart from the OW interview, what gossip are they spreading? And who is 'everyone'?

EdithWeston · 02/04/2022 07:55

They have been shown to have been economical with the truth about involvement in the book (supplying briefing via staff) and podcasts, nor book/s and series are in the offing. That's a lot for two years.

The pandemic has no doubt hit the Archewell plans because it's still far from certain what it actually does. Perhaps when that actually does stuff, it'll change appearances a lot.

And they've had a lot of actual or threatened lawsuits

  • v Republic (threatened)
  • publishers of Daily Mail re copyright of Markle letter - won
  • Splash News - won (resulting in liquidation of UK arm and forced bankruptcy of US arm)
  • X17 - won
  • Mail on Sunday (not in touch with marines) - settled out of court, Mail conceding that there had been private contact.
  • The Sun (phone hacking)
  • Sunday Times (Invictus reporting)
  • paparazzo re drones
  • paparazzo re fence photo
  • seeking JR of Home Office decision making on security issues - ongoing

Is that them all?

Obviously 'everyone' was hyperbole, but that's quite a list.

Roussette · 02/04/2022 08:02

And I don't blame them for every one of that list. It's their money, we're not paying for it. unlike the millions spent on you know who

TheBigDilemma · 02/04/2022 08:06

This does really makes you wonder if they sent a regiment to exclusively to protect him while he went to war in Afghanistan. Another expensive PR exercise? Playing soldier but not following the rules? He didn’t even keep his hair short as soldiers are requested to do. You can see where so much privilege has made him so entitled or it just a PR exercise.

AnastasiaRomanov · 02/04/2022 08:45

No wonder he had to come back. Not just his location being made known, he must have been a liability in all sorts of ways. Rumours that bad behaviour was covered up etc. I do wonder if his bitterness now has its roots in resentment about being made to leave active service.

Roussette · 02/04/2022 09:11

He served for ten years! Hardly thrown out after a month or two.

Rumours are just that.... rumours.

Mangowood · 02/04/2022 09:15

@EdithWeston you forgot the threatened lawsuit against the BBC for saying they didn't seek the Queens blessing before naming their daughter.
I assume as they didn't sue the story was true.

Whatever the case may be, it is better value for your tax money if you scrutinise what the royals you pay for are doing.

Stop fussing over someone who emphatically gave people like you the finger and is making clear in no uncertain terms that he and his wife care not what you think. It’s liberating when you know nothing you do will please a person. You feel free to do whatever you like.

Harry will keep flourishing and the rest of the world will continue scratching their heads wondering why Britain hate a person who is doing a lot more for the world than those they are still forking out huge tax payments for.

Enjoy your life and stop stewing in bitterness over nothing. Free your mind and soul from the trap you’ve allowed the racist British media to ensnare you.

… and no amount of screams and howls that it has nothing to do with racism will erase the evidence that it is. The rest of the world has judged but hey, rarely will those who peddle racism admit to it. They will gaslight and someone waste their time trying to tell you the world is square as if you’re will buy their ridiculous protestations.

You cannot keep a good man or woman down. That’s what we’re seeing.

Roussette · 02/04/2022 09:27

^^ This. So agree with your post @Why2why

"I want Harry & Meghan to leave the country and never show their face again"

(H&M leave the country to make their own lives, you've got your wish)

"How very dare he not come back to this country for his GF's memorial" (so we can have yet another go at him and his wife)

Why2why · 02/04/2022 09:29

The people he served with say otherwise but go ahead and attempt to revise history to denigrate him. His crime? To marry a mixed race woman and to stand up to abuse.

He served his country well. But Britain has a habit of erasing the contributions of many. Like the Windrush generation, like the many black and brown people who fought to save Britain. So what is being done to Harry is no surprise.

It’s good that some of the posters on here are spreading their ignorance and bigotry all over. The nasty underbelly of Britain needs to be exposed. Needs to be out in the open.

Looking forward to Invictus! Some great collaborations are being secured for future years.

Enjoy the waving and ribbon cutting of the taxpayer funded royals who go around the world embarrassing Britain with their outdated colonial mindset. So out of touch and clownish.

Absolute nonsense. They don’t know whether they are coming on going. Thankfully Harry and Meghan enforced their boundaries and will not dance to their tunes. They do what they want, when they want. They will sue who they choose, when they choose for strategic and well-placed impact.

You thought they couldn’t survive without Britain? There is vast world out there who, despite the British media best effort, saw right through the bull and refuse to participate in this unwarranted and jealous lynching of people who do far more for ordinary folk than the tax funded royals.

I also haven’t seen a mention of them suing whoever took those photos of H and M dining out with Eugenie and her husband . Makes me wonder if < gasp> they were set up ?!
I am actually pleased if they are happy . I just wish they would stop the titles they do desperately cling on to . And yes A should too.

tigger2022 · 02/04/2022 10:36

Yeah the Afghanistan stuff was always fishy. I mean he went to Sandhurst and flew helicopters despite not meeting the entry requirements for either. It was a PR exercise for all involved, but he thinks he’s entitled to it all. Normal boring Harry Windsor would’ve been shown the door!

He met the entry requirements for Sandhurst - he wouldn't do now, but he entered before the changes that increased the number of A level points required.

He got his place to fly fair and square - yes there are many things that he no doubt had an easy path for, but there was a hard limit on requirements related to safety (which included actually passing exams and assessments) because the military wasnt going to risk his life, those of others or the airframe itself.

No-one will comment on arrangements for his safety, but no of course it wasn't a regiment!

He did fine

Totally agree

I'm sure Meghan and Harry are doing just fine but what have they have done for 'ordinary folk'? I'm struggling with that one.
Snog · 02/04/2022 18:39

I think they have been very unlucky with the timing of the pandemic and the effect that must have had on establishing Archewell.

Because I don't think it's terribly clear what it does, apart from make grants to projects, and as there are not many it's also not clear what impact it has or what lies behind the application/selection procedure. I expect that will come clearer over this coming year, now that interruptions are way less likely.

Right now, I don't think they are doing that much, but I hope that will change.

TheBigDilemma · 02/04/2022 20:18

Unlucky with the pandemic… hmm that child that spent more than a year sleeping in a tent in his back garden raised more than twice as much money than Archwell did.

I think they are just narcissistic influencers, not really fund raisers, otherwise with that level of publicity they would have raised millions.

GrinGrin seriously? If you don’t know, you’ll never know. The evidence is plentiful but if you don’t want to acknowledge it, you won’t and it’s certainly no one’s job to educate or inform you.

In any case, worth asking that of your tax funded royals.

Continue feasting on British right wing media to shape your understanding of the world and of people and you’ll continue to never know and be merely “interested” in knowing.

WinnieTheW0rm · 02/04/2022 20:44

"In any case, worth asking that of your tax funded royals"

You mean things Like the Duke of Edinburgh Awards? Or The Prince's Trust?

We know what they do, and have plenty who attest tomthebresuits.

Archewell isn't out of the starting blocks yet
