Maybe he’ll stop hiding behind his mummy now…

The Queen is the Crown is the State is the Country is the People is Us.

SpindleWhirl · 02/10/2021 22:21

The Telegraph has the story.

Brenda is pissing away millions on the legal bills of her hideous son.

nimbuscloud · 02/10/2021 22:22

I wonder did she consult Princes Charles and William on this ?

julieca · 02/10/2021 22:41

The story said the Queen will begin paying his bills. I wonder if we were up till now?

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/10/2021 23:57

@SpindleWhirl

The Queen is the Crown is the State is the Country is the People is Us.
I didn't vote for her.
SpindleWhirl · 03/10/2021 00:02

@MrsTerryPratchett, yet we're all lumbered with her as Head of State. And then bloody Charles.

Andrew I hope gets his just desserts.

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/10/2021 00:06

True but I think it's important to register my non-compliance!

BoredZelda · 03/10/2021 09:44

I strongly believe any innocent man with integrity would want to clear his name if accused of anything so heinous. So ..

You clearly aren’t au fait with the US justice system which too often has nothing to to with innocence or guilt.

Which means 'we' !

Wrong. There are very strict rules which means she won’t be able to pay his lawyers with money that comes to the Crown Estate. Don’t forget she is also independently wealthy.

Roussette · 03/10/2021 09:50

She's paying from Duchy of Lancaster funds I read, which is classed as a private estate at times but not so, at other times

And bear in mind, if the legal bills and/or payoff runs into many millions which leaves Duchy funding short, we will be topping up via the Sovereign Grant.
So really not 'private funds' as such. Just clever optics

Roussette · 26/10/2021 07:16

Interesting. Having read the article I have no doubt this will be what he does...

Prince Andrew could also seek to have any formal MLA request set aside before he is deposed, on the grounds that he has no relevant or material evidence to give

He's obviously got to do something then before the deadline, days before his mother's platinum jubilee. Good timing Andrew... Hmm

OverByYer · 26/10/2021 11:49

I bet he’s sweating now 😆

MummyJ12 · 26/10/2021 12:08
@ArblemarchTFruitbat
Probably true.
Pathetic behaviour hiding away from being served papers tho.
Could not agree with you both more.
Although, believe it or not, I was completely jumped on for posting exactly these thoughts a few weeks back on another thread.

OverByYer · 26/10/2021 12:28

Yes I saw that thread. Some rather off the wall comments on that one.

Suddenlyfamily5 · 26/10/2021 12:38

we're all lumbered with her as Head of State

I’m extremely grateful to have the Queen as my Head of State!

MummyJ12 · 26/10/2021 12:47

Yes, @OverByYer there were some very off the wall comments on that one….and some shocking ones! I hope this thread doesn’t end up like that one.

MummyJ12 · 26/10/2021 12:49

Me too.

My thoughts are he should have been reigned in decades ago. But no. He had free reign to do what he liked and associate with criminals while swanning round the world as a Trade Ambassador playing golf. If/ when the chickens come home to roost they have only themselves and their systems to blame. Personally, I think it will all fizzle out and come to nothing. It always does when royals are concerned.

OliviaBean · 26/10/2021 12:57

Of course we are paying for it, we pay for everything. Everything they have was not earned. It's all optics.

MummyJ12 · 26/10/2021 13:00

If I had a criticism of the Queen @Viviennemary, it would be this. I totally agree with you.

OverByYer · 26/10/2021 13:01

Absolutely this

This with knobs on.

We are at this situation with him because he has been indulged and enabled.

Over 10 years ago the Queen 'expressed concern' about his friendship with JE and with his role as a Trade ambassador.

Well... I'm sorry but expressing concern was not enough, and I blame the aides, the courtiers, the Queen and the wider family for allowing PA to besmirch the RF in this way. He is one of the reasons I went off them all big time. And there are others like me.

SueSaid · 28/10/2021 09:50

Absolutely. They just tip toe around issues, 'Randy Andy' and 'the playboy prince' were names the media gave him years, if not decades, ago. Why on earth wasn't he given a thorough bollocking and told to ditch his at best playboy mates and at worst sex offender associates or lose his royal status and privilege

The rf just seem to stick their heads in the sand time and time again until it all becomes a massive, messy problem.

CathyorClaire · 29/10/2021 21:00

Why are his lawyers now asking for (and getting) the sealed 2009 agreement they were given access to and which they allegedly believed would absolve him from any liability to remain sealed?

Anyone know?

Roussette · 31/10/2021 06:39

So Andrew is fighting back.

This is going to get nasty.
