Positive thread on Meghan again

Now that at the other knock off MN chat has been shut down, we seem to have an influx of those posters on here with new or encouraged accounts.

For those who are not interested in trawling through negative post after the other. You can come on here for positive news about Meghan and Harry.

Why not, everyone else seems to be viewed positively, without 'cynicism'. I don't mind taking this at snail pace, we just post on the good things about H&M, they sure seem to be doing a lot of that lately, and it's really buried under the negativity on MN.

Awful isn't it.

Yes. Agree.

Sophie, Duchess of Wessex
Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and now
Prince Michael of Kent.

Roussette · 09/05/2021 10:58

Marquess of Reading, yes! Sounds ridiculous doesn't it. Is there an Earl of Slough?!

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 09/05/2021 11:08

So is this a moaning about other Royals thread or a positive thread about H&M? I'm confused.

Also @Roussette is Sophie ever going to be able to redeem herself from things done many years ago, in your view? Harry seems to have been allowed to do this in relation to his racism.

The Prince Michael of Kent stuff is awful and he and his dreadful wife should have their royal privileges and funding pulled immediately if pandering to Putin is the use they make of it.

Mummy194 · 09/05/2021 11:17

I believe there is someone who calls themselves the "Duke of Slough'.

Prince Michael has been trending all last night and all morning today, yet there are no 20 articles on him.

prince michael of kent:

  1. military appointments
  2. represents the queen for some engagements
  3. lives in a royal property funded by the queen
  4. earn his own money
  5. allowed to use his HRH title whenever he wants even for his own benefit

That is why the half in and out refusal never made any sense.

Hi Skip

As you will see, I went back to the title of the thread and commented in my last but one post on H&M positivity with the Covax comment. I then responded to Janiie who had responded to me.

As you well know... threads titles don't mean they stay on subject.
Every royal thread ends up with comments about H&M.
So it's basically a thread meandering as they all do? Not sure you can stop that.

Am I not allowed to mention Sophie? I think I can. Given Harry and his stupidity with the nazi suit is mentioned incessantly. He will never ever be forgiven or redeem himself by those that don't like him.

ShamedBySiri · 09/05/2021 11:37

Given Harry and his stupidity with the nazi suit is mentioned incessantly. He will never ever be forgiven or redeem himself by those that don't like him.

You see I've never really understood why people whip that up to make such a fuss about. He was young. I'm old enough to have grown up on a cocktail of TV programmes that made fun of the Nazis - the classic Fawlty Towers episode "don't mention the war", 'allo 'allo.
No doubt he anticipated an evening of fun doing silly walks and silly accents. I have no problem with that at all!

lollipoprainbow · 09/05/2021 11:44

I'm with you, I hate the vitriol they both get.

Roussette · 09/05/2021 11:46

He did attend an equality and diversity course and no doubt he deeply regrets it. It won't be forgotten by many, and maybe it shouldn't because it shows how a person can change and grow. It's regularly brought up on MN.

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 09/05/2021 11:52

So is Sophie forgiven as the same logic you've outlined above for Harry ought to apply? You also have brought her past up again so it's not something only done against Harry. Presumably she's shown how she can change and grow too?
Roussette · 09/05/2021 12:04

I think that is probably the second time I have mentioned Sophie in all the years I've been on here. I don't bang on about it! It was very relevant given the upcoming C4 Dispatches documentary on Monday. That's the only reason I mentioned it.

I have said it shouldn't be forgotten (Harry) so what do you mean?

I agree Sophie's debacle shouldn't be forgotten either. And she has obviously changed and grown too.

Really not sure why I have to spell this out to you. It's tedious.

Mummy194 · 09/05/2021 12:14

I see The Bench is currently sitting at number 24 on the Childrens Best Seller list in the UK (8 top spots go to Harry Potter ofcourse).
It's 34 in the US.

A couple of days ago it was 24 and 25 in the US and UK. And had reached 1 when it was released and sold out.

It would have come as a surprise because the DM and trolls, are trying to convince us that the UK hates MM. So who is buying the books then.

For France and Netherlands it was at 1 at some stage, same as AppleBooks FR. I wonder if they will have it translated, I was surprised the French would buy it in English form.

In the meantime, there is an online bookshop that donates a copy to schools for each book ordered. Though that is still in the US, for now, they wanted to add UK, EU and other countries eventually.

I thought Meghan’s book was being released early June
Is it available to buy now or is it just pre order?

Mummy194 · 09/05/2021 12:35

Yes, these are just pre-orders. It will be released on 8 June.

At some point Amazon US 'sold out' . So they will have to more prints.

Well done her.

One in the eye for the Telegraph with the clickbait heading...

"Meghan Markle's fun-free children's book may put an entire generation off reading"

You gotta laugh. So pathetic!

JingsMahBucket · 09/05/2021 13:11

I want to order the book but mostly because I love the illustrator, Christian Robinson. I love his style and own another the illustrated called, “Last Stop on Market Street”. It’s a beautiful story with heartwarming drawings.

I'll join in with something I've just seen - she's calling on more support for women post-pandemic. She's spoken very eloquently about it

Viviennemary · 09/05/2021 13:31

There is a really nasty parody of the book on the DM website. I thought it was unnecessary and very cruel. By that Jan Moir person.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 09/05/2021 13:41

There should be some law that everyone has to categorically ignore Jan Moir. Vile human being.

@Mummy194 would you mind posting the link please? I will buy a copy anyway but want to keep an eye on it to see if they add the UK.
ohforarainyday · 09/05/2021 15:03

"Meghan Markle's fun-free children's book may put an entire generation off reading"

Just proves what an agenda the press have to attack her and twist every thing she does into a negative no matter what.

And people wonder why they left!

lollipoprainbow · 09/05/2021 15:03

@Viviennemary Jan Moir slates M and H at every turn as does fellow columnists Sarah Vine and Amanda Platell. Disgusting how they can tear down another woman like that.

Roussette · 09/05/2021 15:22

rainy yes, I think that is an appalling headline actually. Because we all know how Kate would be praised to the heavens if she brought out a book.

Jan Moir, Sarah Vine, and Platell are awful, I'd also add Julia Hartley Spewer into that too, although she had an Ofcom complaint against her for a Meghan comment recently.

It's all getting ridiculous now. SIX stories about Meghan & Harry on the Daily/Sunday Express opening page but not one on Prince Michael of Kent accused of taking bribes for access to Putin. Not ONE.

I think there will be a backlash against this unfair reporting in time, because it's a joke.

Roussette · 09/05/2021 15:24

Just to add.... the six stories are negative of course!
