Now that at the other knock off MN chat has been shut down, we seem to have an influx of those posters on here with new or encouraged accounts.

For those who are not interested in trawling through negative post after the other. You can come on here for positive news about Meghan and Harry.

Why not, everyone else seems to be viewed positively, without 'cynicism'. I don't mind taking this at snail pace, we just post on the good things about H&M, they sure seem to be doing a lot of that lately, and it's really buried under the negativity on MN.

@Roussette

The BBC has been rather quiet on Prince Michael of Kent, I have to say.
Everyone has noticed, the British media has been a bit slow on the uptake.

@Mummy194 the Prince Michael thing has been on the BBC newsfeed for 14 hours

Prince Michael of Kent accused of selling Kremlin access www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57042823

Interestingly, @Roussette, I also looked up the Marquess of Reading and it seems this title was first used in 1926, although it was first offered (as Baron Reading) to a former prime minister in 1804. The current Marquess is the 4th. Just in case you were interested 😀

Mummy194 · 09/05/2021 19:44

I meant on the TV news updates.
This was never mentioned, just only saw a snippet on ITV this evening.

Thx smilesy I never realised there were so many Marquess (no idea of the plural.... Marquesses?!) in this country.

Serenster · 09/05/2021 19:51

Wiki is your friend, Rousette. There’s a long list of all the Marquessates in the British (and Irish) peerage, including all of those that are no longer extant, and lesser titles granted to Dukes (the latter are traditionally used by their heir - so the son of the Duke of Devonshire is titled the Marquess of Harrington until Dad dies…).

Roussette · 09/05/2021 20:09

Thank you! And I've learnt a new word .... marquessates.... (that took some typing!)

Coronateachingagain · 09/05/2021 22:13

@Roussette

They called it 'a spectacle for the world'... personally I don't think that's so awful. It was a spectacle for the world. I don't call that 'rubbishing it'.

We just have different opinions on it I s'pose

They should hire you @Roussette , you have really good spins for their stepping on it. You would be an asset they will need! Make what you will of the "spectacle for the world" - ill choice of words at best, but it helped a lot see through and understand the way they think.

If this thread has proven one thing, it's so prove that the posters going "don't be silly, no one hates her, they simply disagree with some of her behaviour" are wrong.

It's truly shocking that some people are so consumed with hatred for a celebrity they'll never even meet that they voluntarily choose to invade a thread clearly labelled as being for fans only, so they can jump up and down screaming "NO SHE'S AWFUL YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO LIKE HER STOP IT STOP IT"

It's clearly pathological. I honestly envisage them running up and down the streets screaming about Meghan Markle while being chased by men with butterfly nets.

Christ who gives a shit if someone's a fan of something you're not keen on?

Yeah...nonsense cos positive press links about M&H annoys and upsets because only negative posts are acceptable to some. It must hurt!

Roussette · 09/05/2021 23:20

How weird to come on a thread and just type 'its all nonsense' and 'its drivel' !
It's much easier to swerve the thread, that's what I do with annoying threads!

LittleBearPad · 09/05/2021 23:28

It’s not annoying, it’s hilarious.

CatherineMorland · 09/05/2021 23:39

I was surprised Megan used her royal title “Megan, Duchess of Sussex” for her book.

It just seems to set her up for complaints that she’s trading on her royal status.

ohforarainyday · 09/05/2021 23:40

Who on earth has the time to read through six pages of a thread specifically for talking positively about a something you don't like?

That'd be like me scouring every thread I could find that's about fly fishing.

LittleBearPad · 09/05/2021 23:52

It’s also how she’d be styled if she was divorced so strange choice.

every royal uses their royal title on their books. No reason Meghan can't and she did use her proper title "Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex".
ExitChasedByABee · 10/05/2021 03:19

@CatherineMorland What was she supposed to write? She’s no longer just Meghan Markle, is she?

@LittleBearPad If you’re going to quote me, you might as well read what I wrote and do it properly not just the snippet that suits whatever point you’re trying to make Grin

I like that they’re highlighting the donating for vaccines in developing countries. Your donation is being matched by a few companies including MasterCard until May 16 three fold, so if you give $5 the charity- called Givi- gets $20, enough to vaccinate one person. Someone on my social media shared it a few day’s ago. Details below if anyone wants to donate, copied from the Instagram of my friend. Good on M&H highlighting this and asking people to do it for Archie’s birthday. 👇🏻

_

Gavi, the vaccine alliance charity, have teamed up with three sponsors - one of which is MasterCard- to match your donations. So Donate $5 (that’s £3.60) and the charity get $20 (about £14) which is enough to vaccinate one person against COVID-19. Their work is in developing countries where help is desperately needed.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are asking people to do this in honour of their son’s second birthday. The dollar-for-dollar matching is carrying on until May 16th.

Please donate if you can- most of us can afford £3.60- and/or share this link so other people can donate. Link here

To find out more about Gavi’s work, they’re on Twitter here

DeeCeeCherry · 10/05/2021 03:33

I was just reading about MM donating to Harvest Homes, they help homeless women and their children. Not a big news story, I came across it when reading about Mothers Day in America. Nice gesture.

DeeCeeCherry · 10/05/2021 03:36

SteveArnottsCodeine

Thanks for Gavi info & link, great cause. I'll donate, & share link far and wide
