Harry appointed senior exec at $1bn startup

Just seen that Harry has been appointed Chief Impact Officer at a billion dollar valued Silicon Valley startup.
This feels so unfair. I know people who have worked for years first qualifying then gaining experience in their field, without a hope of a job like this. Harry of the 2 A levels and zero formal work experience outside of the army. He can bleat about the hardships of privilege all he wants but he’d never get near a job like this as a private “normal” citizen.

@Oldbutstillgotit

It was also reported at the time that when Frogmore was first mentioned H and M assumed they were being offered Frogmore House rather than Cottage
I believe that originated from Blind Gossip !

I can’t remember where I read it but doubt it was BG ( although they are often pretty accurate ) .

The Windsor stuff can definitely go down as hearsay. Feelings towards the couple had definitely turned in the media . No real source just speculation. Possibly true but more likely fantasy.

The meeting a year before living etc are something else. The story does seem to have credibility. Especially now because the media know lawyers will get involved if not.

Didn't know there were two frogmore residents. You learn new stuff everydaySmile

H and M had their wedding reception at Frogmore House

That's the thing. Their stories get dispersed everywhere.

Angela Lavine of all people, tweeted, saying that MM was not really pregnant with Archie. Guess that was all 'some of these stories can be accurate'.

@Marmaladeagain I think the problem is that H doesn’t seem to accept his diminishing rank. Why on earth would he expect to have a separate household/court? None of the Queen’s children have one.

OverByYer · 07/04/2021 19:22

Interesting updates that make sense. It seems Harry is really struggling to accept his place within the family.

BasiliskStare · 08/04/2021 06:50

I think Harry was in the very curious position of having huge privilege and rank & indeed money because of his birth but equally because big brother was first in line - he was pretty much always going to become less relevant . So it sort of cuts both ways.

If he had been born to a family of modest means in XYZ town - he would ( probably - I do not know the man - so may be wrong ) not have been able ( I bet) to do half the stuff he has. But because he is PC's son he has been able to. PW has drawn an Ace and a King - PH drew an ace and a 10 - well get over it - he could have done so much I think within the confines of the RF - but - his choice

It is the thing he ( they ) have to trade on - until they prove otherwise - but by betsy - what a springboard.

Also, Diana's story and tragic death meant there was far more public interest in Harry than there might otherwise have been for the spare.

LittleBearPad · 08/04/2021 10:56

The realisation about the difference between heir and spare must have hurt. Particularly when he saw what happened to Andrew (Jeffrey Epstein stuff apart) he’s basically bumbled round the world as a pointless trade envoy.

Lauren15 · 08/04/2021 11:48

Harry in his youth was far more popular than the Queen’s own children ever were. I wonder if this caused him to believe that he’d somehow be on a different path than Anne or Andrew.

Oldbutstillgotit · 08/04/2021 12:04

POW has always been clear that he wants a slimmed down RF but also made it clear that included H . Having said that , as W and C’s DC grow up and have families , H will become less relevant . A comparison is that when HM was heir , next in line was Margaret then Dukes of Kent etc who are now around 30/40 in the line of succession.
From what I can see and have read I really don’t think it suited M not to be equal to C .

Lauren15 · 08/04/2021 12:28

I hope K and W are smart enough to prepare Charlotte and Louis for a different path in life. Actually I hope they make sure George finds something satisfying and fulfilling to do, like W did with the air ambulance.

BalloonSlayer · 08/04/2021 13:21

I sometimes think that might be why K and W decided to have more than 2 DC - so there wasn't one who was the heir and one who wasn't. If there are more than one who are not "the heir" I reckon it's easier to cope with.

Not sure that worked with Andrew but I can see your logic.

I think there was a lot of public affection for Diana that transferred to her sons when she died.

Yes that’s true

Changing subject slightly...it’s just been announced Prince Phillip has died
