Harry appointed senior exec at $1bn startup

Just seen that Harry has been appointed Chief Impact Officer at a billion dollar valued Silicon Valley startup.
This feels so unfair. I know people who have worked for years first qualifying then gaining experience in their field, without a hope of a job like this. Harry of the 2 A levels and zero formal work experience outside of the army. He can bleat about the hardships of privilege all he wants but he’d never get near a job like this as a private “normal” citizen.

Sophie got majorly caught out by an undercover journalist.

IrmaFayLear · 29/03/2021 08:52

Harry and the Russian radio DJs Grin

Agree that it is clear Prince Andrew is an entitled sleazebag. The tv interview was hilarious - the best tv programme of 2019. I’m still chuckling about the Pizza Express trip advisor comments.

But H&M are in a different category of interest because they are so pious when doing so many hypocritical things (insert list of 200+).

Loggerino · 29/03/2021 16:14

Yes, it's the piety that's the issue with them

SteppinOutwithMyBaby · 03/04/2021 03:37

@Roussette "Hundreds of unelected unrepresented hereditary peers who make the laws"

According to Wikipedia, the House of Lords Act 1999 restricted it to 92 hereditary peers.

I am not British, so really have no skin in the game. However, I do like bit of accuracy. Although it is Wikipedia, after all.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 03/04/2021 04:17

Yep the house of lords has already been slimmed down like Charles is doing with the royals. We are definitely better with the house of lords being a buffer than any other alternative I have heard about. You only have to look at the SNP situation in Scotland to realise governments need some challenging.

LolaSmiles · 03/04/2021 08:02

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum
I agree with you.
I also like the fact that people with extensive contributions and expertise can be appointed to the Lords, and think that should continue because we need experts scrutinising and holding the government to account.
I hate how many ex-MPs end up appointed simply for being a good little party boy. They're not offering anything to democracy. They're just there so that the government of the time can expect someone to nod nicely and do their bidding without real scrutiny.

Placemarking

MrsFin · 03/04/2021 09:51

Irma is right. It's the piousness (piety?).
And the wanting a quiet life out of the limelight but the constantly being in the news.
And the more and more evidence that all this was planned way in advance of that holiday in Canada.

Oldbutstillgotit · 03/04/2021 10:13

According to The Daily Telegraph H had meetings with Quibi , the first one was in January 2019 after H attended the Sandringham summit .
I understood that H and M didn’t have a plan when they left the RF ( as said to OW)

Nanasueathome · 03/04/2021 10:31

There’s an article and lots of pictures in the DM
Harry walking the dog in the beach
They must have planned for the photographer to be there
Probably made a few dollars more for that

IrmaFayLear · 03/04/2021 11:08

From the Telegraph there are very detailed timelines showing that there were plans to do documentaries etc almost straightaway by Meghan’s people in the US. This was what was causing friction with the palace as there was no consultation with them.

Also there was some argy-bargy about the baby shower as that again was done without consultation and royal rules state that all gifts must be declared and logged.

OverByYer · 03/04/2021 11:33

Yes the photos of Harry on the beach look very staged

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 03/04/2021 11:39

Why do the media think we need to see Haz walking his dog on a beach? Don't care if staged or not. Just why? Wish they would keep to reporting anything of interest because a bloke walking a dog making the headlines is rather baffling.

Mummy195 · 03/04/2021 11:54

MM already did the Disney voice over for the Elephant charity, so it's no surprise if that seemed a lucrative way to make money for charities. They always seemed to be trying to find new ways to raise funds for their charities, like the cookbook, fashion capsule etc.

The press just trying to link things that have no relation to each other and try to undermine the interview in general, the rags are not fooling anyone.

It is also understood that Meghan and Harry did not go into the conversations with the intent to personally profit from the endeavor. The Duke and Duchess ultimately did not move forward with participating in the Quibi project.

Lauren15 · 03/04/2021 12:11

I agree about the pictures. Staged or not, I wish the media would stop covering the pair of them.
I was reading an interesting article about Peter Phillips various failed attempts at business and how he had the pressure of providing financially for his family. It must be so hard to find a decent job when you’ve gone through the top educational establishments in the country.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 04/04/2021 08:20

Let’s not forget the touting for business at the Lion King premiere either. H dropped a previous commitment to attend an event in support of the military in order to tout for his wife. All along they’ve been planning to leave in my view. Maximising opportunities to make money any way they can. Those photos on the beach are obviously staged, like many others.

MrsFin · 04/04/2021 10:11

Harry looks better with a hat on. It hides his bald patch

LittleBearPad · 04/04/2021 10:12

At least he’s not wearing that bloody grey suit.

Oldbutstillgotit · 04/04/2021 10:21

I just hope he wasn’t traumatised by the camera clicks .

jessstan2 · 04/04/2021 10:23

:-)

Bald is cool man.

LookAChicken · 04/04/2021 10:31

He is neglecting his chickens.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 04/04/2021 10:32

They’ll have staff for the chickens.😆

LookAChicken · 04/04/2021 10:33

Ah the lives of the rich and famous, eh!

LittleBearPad · 04/04/2021 12:03

@GoLightlyontheEarth

They need someone to sleep in the 16 bedrooms.
IrmaFayLear · 04/04/2021 12:05

Bald?! Have you not seen the hair weave?! Grin. And Mark my words, the Simon Cowell teeth will not be far behind.....
