Harry appointed senior exec at $1bn startup

Just seen that Harry has been appointed Chief Impact Officer at a billion dollar valued Silicon Valley startup.
This feels so unfair. I know people who have worked for years first qualifying then gaining experience in their field, without a hope of a job like this. Harry of the 2 A levels and zero formal work experience outside of the army. He can bleat about the hardships of privilege all he wants but he’d never get near a job like this as a private “normal” citizen.

But Andrew has always shown loyalty to his birth family and Harry has shown none at all.

I think it's pushing it a bit far to say that Andrew has been loyal. More accurate to say that he depends on the money and protection given by his birth family.

Meanwhile the press hold the Royal Family to impossible standards, the Royal Family depends on the press to stay relevant, and each side knows that press coverage depends on a certain amount of scandal and outrage, even if its only manufactured outrage at avocados.

Sounds about right. It’s why the media get so over excited when some real conflict kicks off.

Fair enough but I've never heard him bad mouthing them. Or his ex wife Sarah He even tried to show loyalty to Epstein. He's a very odd character indeed.

I've never heard Andrew try to bad mouth his family either.
Ok there might have been some leeked whingeing when he was told B&E wouldn't become working Royals but he never outwardly voiced that.

Roussette · 28/03/2021 10:24

Well... I suppose being the Queen's favourite son means he hasn't got much to whinge about. She has said he is the favourite, it's not hearsay. Which would explain his bad record over the decades, the Queen stands by him whatever he does.

Lockdownbear · 28/03/2021 10:33

Where, when did the Queen say Andrew was her favourite son?

I'm wondering how you know this Roussette - could it be the DM?
Roussette · 28/03/2021 10:40

There are countless articles out there about it. If you google it... pages of articles.

Roussette · 28/03/2021 10:41

No. GoLightly Plenty of other sources.

Strange comment from you Hmm

ImpatiensI · 28/03/2021 10:46

@derxa Grin He's not wrong!

Articles based on what, hearsay?

Did HMQ ever say it in front of a camera?

Who is she reported to have said it too?

ImpatiensI · 28/03/2021 10:54

Tho of course Henry turned rat in the end and so has Harry!

Roussette · 28/03/2021 10:55

I doubt 3 google pages of articles and countless staff saying the Queen indulged him when he was younger and her taking him to Church 12 hours after the horrendous Maitlis interview are wrong.

Did HMQ ever say it in front of a camera?

Look... I know you are trying to catch me out but seriously?! 🤣
When has the Queen ever given an interview?! I am actually laughing out loud at this!

She’s said it with actions, I suppose, which we are told are louder than words.

I’m not convinced she’s ever said it verbally but 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's very true. Henry had to go into witness protection and move far away with his family. 'I get to live the rest of my life like a shnook', he said.
Roussette · 28/03/2021 11:08

Yes. She has not said it verbally. I was wrong to say the Queen has said it. She doesn't say anything to us. We can only surmise from press reports and there are countless articles referring to staff who say this.

One thought he would be sacked after he threw Andrew into a pile of dung or something when he was tormenting the horses.

Now hoping I've avoided my daily pile on. Grin

Lockdownbear · 28/03/2021 11:14

Ok she might have indulged her two younger children more than the older too. People especially with big gaps do things differently the second time round.

Things move on attitudes change, she would have been more confident and settled in her role as Queen.

Maybe not an interview but the RF did a reality TV show at some point in the 60s. Showing off how modern they were.Grin

merrymouse · 28/03/2021 11:21

I've never heard Andrew try to bad mouth his family either.

Because he and his family are financially dependent on his mother. It's not evidence of moral fibre.

Roussette · 28/03/2021 11:24

Yes, I think I remember that. I think PPhilip was barbecuing in the back garden or something.

She left Charles and Anne and did a world commonwealth tour leaving them for 6 months or thereabouts when they were little. I imagine the guilt of that meant that when she had Andrew and Edward after a 10 year age age, meant she did it totally differently.

Lockdownbear · 28/03/2021 11:32

10 year gap, more established in her job. And also I imagine that flight travel would have improved so she'd have done more short tours rather than a mammoth 6 month tour using a boat.

No I don't think he has moral fibre but it's definitely part of his code of behaviour. A strange juxtaposition of corruption, sleaze and 'gentlemanly' behaviour. A bit like the fact that the Kray twins were good to their old mum.
