The royal family

Harry has a lot to answer for.

I think Harry has a lot to answer for in this whole debacle. He's a 35 year old man brought up as a Royal who should know how the whole thing works and how to ensure his wife is fully educated in the rules and regs. of being a Royal. She was his wife, why on earth was she going to HR at the Palace for help with mental health problems? Harry has loads of experience and the knowledge of where to get help, what on earth was he doing? Harry knows full well that there is a rule about not being given a royal title when it comes to Archie. Why didn't he explain this to Megan? It has absolutely nothing to do with Archie's skin colour. Why is Harry moaning about having their security removed given his father paid £4m for their security after the tax payer stopped paying after they moved to California?
It is not the Royal family's decision whither or not someone has The Metropolitan Police fly over to do security duties.
Prince William sorted the press out when they were making disparaging comments about Kate, why didn't he put his foot down as his brother did?

If we can provide a service whereby some get to feel really superior about themselves, without needing to add anything interesting or pertinent to the thread - then we're very happy to oblige.

I think I can see why H&M narrative suits those that have higher aspirations in life than their intellect enables them to achieve.

Another Spinal Tap quote - St Michael, the patron saint of Quality Footwear (for those that know!) - H&M: the patron saint of "believe without question and thall shalt feel superior, without actually needing any superior type of credential having ever been bestowed upon thine own intellect".

The only thing I can think of that people are supposed to believe without questioning despite so many obvious questions is religion.

Win, win for zealots - also comes with lifetime smile in the boxes, I hear, trouble is it is of the "smug" variety.

redspecial · 23/03/2021 12:47

I saw a collection of loads of photos of William with Zara earlier. They look like they have a really genuine loving family bond. Harry has that with them all too, its so sad that he has taken an axe to it especially when these are some of the only people who know what that life is like.

Still no sign of all their new celebrity friends rushing to support them publicly. George and Amal etc tumbleweed so far. It must be any day now, who's holding their breath?

redspecial · 23/03/2021 12:53

@Marmaladeagain I'm howling Grin.

"lets face it, they're infants".

I can only picture H&M as David and Jeanine now. "things went wrong more smoothly once Jeanine took over".

Roussette · 23/03/2021 13:26

redspecial I will repeat again... you are thinking he has committed treason and should be removed from the line of succession.

For protecting his family.

OKaaaay..

p.s. how do you know he doesn't zoom with Zara weekly.

The thing is on here... detractors always always always assume they know stuff they really don't and assume the worst of anything they pick up. If I have ever posted anything that is positive that, say, M&H have done... it is 80% posters ignoring (doesn't fit the narrative doncha know) or some tiny miniscule thing is found to justify a negative post. Always. It's a hate campaign.

(Disclaimer... there are reasonable posters who are in the middle.. I value their posts and often agree with some or all of them)

Mummy I've been out and only just read the comments, is that what you mean?

Roussette · 23/03/2021 13:32

Nobody wants to see a marriage fail, but many just can't see them lasting

I disagree. There are posters who are just beyond desperate for the marriage to fail. They can then do the biggest Told. You. So. in the world. And they would be gleeful and excited about it.

Because they are already talking about stuff they posted years ago and saying but look.... I was right, I said they would do blah blah... and they are.

Whilst ignoring the fact they said 'I give it 2 years'. Then it was 'they'll last married 5 yrs max'.
I would imagine we are up to 10 years now?! Grin

Itsalonghaul · 23/03/2021 13:37

I am not sure Zara is keen on this debacle, nor will any of the family be happy to see the Queen being damaged in this way. I think the phone calls are probably very thin of the ground, Harry as said as much in the interview.

I hope the RF rise above the emotion, and will ensure he has somewhere to return to if needed.

Itsalonghaul · 23/03/2021 13:39

You have been a one man/woman band defending them on here literally on your own rousette so fair dues to you, you have not swayed from the mission for a second. I didn't catch why you are so so convinced that they are really just a happy but misunderstood couple? Or why you think the interview was a good idea? When polls from both sides of the Atlantic say otherwise.

You haven't really explained what it is you think they are doing so well.

Roussette · 23/03/2021 13:40

Did he say he wasn't in touch with any members of his family? I missed that, if so.

Itsalonghaul · 23/03/2021 13:42

You haven't explained why you think the interview was such a good idea, you are literally the only person I know that thinks that, so just looking to hear that viewpoint.

redspecial · 23/03/2021 13:42

I'm not thinking that at all @Roussette, but thanks for attempting to tell me what I think. slow hand clap. You mentioned treason, I suggested why that could be argued 'for', you aren't able to offer a suggestion why it can be argued 'against' however.

Unless 'for protecting his family' is enough. OK so say how? is it by H being incapable of calling a doctor when M says she felt suicidal? for skipping off to a do at the Albert Hall when she said she was feeling suicidal? or for moving from the protection of vast private estates to a place known for gun crime and a much bigger racism problem than here?

or do you mean protecting his DC by thrusting their lives into the glare of the media which he claims to hate? Or so they will be able to watch their parent's interview when they're older in the way he and the world watched his own mother?

or are you talking about protecting his family as in grandmother, father and brother, because he definitely hasn't done that.

Roussette · 23/03/2021 13:46

itsalonghaul

Do you mean this thread? I could name another half a dozen posters who have posted similar to me. Why do you say it's just me?!

And on other threads... loads. And on threads for instance that talk of something royal related and predictably turn to M&H criticism, and I would say 80% of the posts are pro M&H and telling the detractors they were ridiculous. I read one this morning funnily enough.

So please don't worry I'm on my own. I really am not.

I think they have done well to escape, that's what. Good on them. I have never once said the interview was a good idea. I have mixed feelings on it. Part of me thinks it was a really stupid idea, then part of me thinks I don't blame them. I hope that answers your interrogation questions of me 😂

Diptyque · 23/03/2021 13:46

Omid Scobies’ latest tweet: “ New title for Prince Harry: Chief Impact Officer at coaching and mental health company @BetterUp. His role includes product strategy, public advocacy and more. The duke was already a fan of the firm’s app, which has coaches working with the likes of Hilton, Chevron, Salesforce.”

Itsalonghaul · 23/03/2021 13:47

I imagine MM and maybe even HW will be in breach of some kind of confidentiality agreement/contract as it is my understanding that everyone signs one with any connection to the RF. I guess they were hoping the RF would not sue due to publicity, but I guess now it won't matter so much now that everything is so public. I wonder what will happen around that.

redspecial · 23/03/2021 13:48

'Chief Impact Officer' the comedy just writes itself.

Roussette · 23/03/2021 13:51

I'm not thinking that at all @Roussette, but thanks for attempting to tell me what I think. slow hand clap. You mentioned treason, I suggested why that could be argued 'for', you aren't able to offer a suggestion why it can be argued 'against' however.

What's with the slow hand clap lol

It can be argued against because it is the most ridiculous thing I'e read on these threads.

Treason.. really, that is ridiculous. I know there was a King back in Oliver Cromwell's day who was convicted for treason and executed. I think the reasons were a little more serious. I am not going to defend against him being tried for treason because how can I defend against such a bizarre possibility.

I haven't seen a picture of Archie, have you? You talk like he's splashed across Hello magazine daily.

He's being protected by his Mum and Dad, don't you worry about that.

Itsalonghaul · 23/03/2021 13:51

You have devoted a huge amount of time in doing so, I just wondered why. I have been surprised by that.

You are clearly a fan! And one of the remaining few on these shores, and I am sure they would be grateful if they knew. A valiant battle has been waged to save their reputations.

I hope you know that most people did actually really like them and support them for years and years, and most people are sad that it hasn't worked out. Some of us have experiences of our own that feel similar.
Certainly I haven't witnessed any 'hate' towards them, quite the reverse, just exasperation and irritation perhaps. We are in the middle of a really serious pandemic, there are bigger things going on to be fair, and any kind of whinging from the rich and the wealthy is going to be very annoying.

SallyLockheart · 23/03/2021 13:53

Well it will compensate for loosing the titles of President of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust and Captain General of the Royal Marines

Itsalonghaul · 23/03/2021 13:54

I don't agree at all on the Archie thing, as you know. He has been thrust into the spot light by default during the interview, and they spent almost the whole time talking about him! There was even video footage on the beach half way through. So to say he is being protected is really not true. At all.

Roussette · 23/03/2021 13:56

I get asked lots, and I have probably given reasons (when I really don't have to) a million times. But please don't lose any sleep about it. Just think ... 'oh that old Rou... she hates bullying and injustice and media trashing of people'
That'll do if you want to put the wonderings to bed Grin

Again, I have said a trillion times. No, not a fan hugely. But don't think they are spawn of the devil either.

As for not witnessing any hate... now you are being silly! I would guess there has been maybe 50 threads deleted for hate posts that go beyond any reasonable discussion. And myabe 1,000 posts ditto. In the space of a year or two.
(pure guesswork on the figures mind..)

ImpatiensI · 23/03/2021 13:56

@Oldbutstillgotit

I watched the chicken coop excerpt of the interview and am wondering why H didn’t gently clarify that the event 3 days before the wedding wasn’t actually their marriage ? As it stands , the fact that it has been disproved would make many people wonder about the authenticity of other aspects of the interview .
Yes.
Roussette · 23/03/2021 13:58

Totally disagree on Archie itsalonghaul

Find me a picture of him... face on if you can. Nope. Not out there.

The beach thing... Meghan released it. Like Kate does.

Marmaladeagain · 23/03/2021 13:58

Yes, the comedy is giving left, right and centre and they are unaware the gravy train on such bollocks dumped it's load a long while ago.

When you've got the BBC tv series W1A - laughing at themselves as : director of betterment, the fat lady has already sung.

They remind me of someone rolling up to the timeshare bandwagon, saying we'll make a fortune out of this. However, everyone else has seen the writing on the wall years before, except these two. "Next year Rodders, we'll be milllllunaires"

The Spinal Tap is working well too - Janine,
"I’ve told them a hundred times: put ‘Spinal Tap’ first and ‘Puppet Show’ last" although they went on to get the largest dressing room in the theatre.

The audience will be dwindling, just as it did in Spinal Tap - the crowd were still booing when they came on the stage Grin

Itsalonghaul · 23/03/2021 13:58

When I think of Rou, I will think she really, really doesn't want to see the truth. It is nothing to do with trashing anyone.
But I do understand the need to stand up for others, but you are assuming they are the victims in this, and I beg to differ. There is only one victim and it isn't MM.

HeadNorth · 23/03/2021 13:59

I don't think Rousette is clearly a fan just for pointing out the sheer detail and pettiness of Meghan hate on this thread borders on lunacy. She also isn't the only one 'one these shores' who though the RF did the dirty on M&H in allowing the press to treat her like crap - most people I know think H&M did the right thing in getting away from the wierd dysfunctional RF and grim racist red tops.
