5 different countries in Africa, each one with 5 plus visits to different charities £245,000 H&M
Hardly comparable is it?

It's just the costs of the flights that are being discussed, if you actually read the article you linked to, Rousette. Not the costs of the whole trip.

MM was subjected to racism on Mumsnet for a long time🤷‍♀️. Not all criticism is racist and no one should be scared to criticise Meghan for fear of being called a racist. On the other hand no one should be scared to call out racism when they see it for fear of being called woke or whatever . I used to post on early threads about these two but had stop as the threads started to really turn nasty & very personal towards M. I mean she was compared to rat crawling from a sewer or something.

Even if you were referencing the Independant how can you justify your insistence that it’s ‘unfair”.

I have another example of so-called “Meghan bashing” which was nothing of the kind.

A caption on a photo of a pregnant Kate touching her bump. Something like “Kate tenderly touches her bump”.

This was compared to stories asking “Why does Meghan hold her bump so much?”

The narrative was “See how they hate Meghan? Kate was never accused of attention-seeking bump cradling”.

Well, no. Because Kate never did that to the extremes that Meghan did. She did it so much that it was commented on.

Never mind that the story itself was glowing & positive...doing it for comfort, excited/protective etc.”. No, it was proof of “agenda-driven” media hatred probably fuelled by racism.

Absurd.

There are articles every single year on how much is spent on the royal family.

Meghan & Harry are the biggest royal news story at the moment & their tour cost the most.

So? How, exactly, is this “bullying”? Serious question.

@ Roussette the reason for the trip was because their King ( or former King ) had died . Given that it was a Monarch , protocol dictates that someone of equal rank should attend the funeral . As HM no longer does foreign travel , it fell to PC.
There was ( obviously ) very little notice and PC had a very full diary so private planes were used to get him there and back.
Not ideal but the reason was sound.

If H and M were to give up their Duke and Duchess titles, I would be able to believe their agenda. For Meghan to hold onto her title and at the same time champion herself as a voice against racism just doesn't make sense to me. The Royal family has a place in history as having benefitted from slavery so why not give up the title?

I said I felt the way the RF travel expenses was reported in that article was unfair. With 9 paragraphs and huge photo of H&M and the rest of the RF down the bottom.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have broken their silence following reports that they were due to appear in a "fly-on-the-wall" reality TV series as part of their Netflix deal.

A spokesman for Prince Harry and Meghan tells HELLO!: "The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows."

@ Roussette but do you not see that the reason H and M’s tour was highlighted was because of the announcement they were suing the media and M’s “ no one asks if I am ok” ? Until then it had been a successful tour but the good was totally overshadowed.
Other Royals carried out their tours as expected .
