@SussexRoyalPenguin Harry got a larger share from Diana, certainly, and possibly the Queen
Mother too. Reasoning being that William as the future King would never go short but Harry would need more support. Can't remember if exact figures have been mentioned but I've definitely read about this as a deliberate strategy to redress the expected imbalance between the brothers.

BarleylemonPenguin · 30/03/2020 22:17

I suspect that it was indeed the lack of opulence of ‘Toad Hall’ that contributed in part to this whole debacle...judging by the Malibu houses that are currently being viewed.

Winterlife · 30/03/2020 22:30

Can't say who the A-lister is, but if you googled his name, you wouldn't find his support of an elephant charity.

The Express article about MM nagging Harry to get a job is from The Enquirer. It probably is made up, with a few kernels of truth. The Enquirer has been sued successfully a few times, so they now put in some truths in articles, just embarrassing enough that if a celebrity sues them, their highly embarrassing "secrets" are exposed. It's backfired on The Enquirer recently, as they attempted to blackmail Jeff Bezos, but they did expose some of his secrets when Bezos refused to back down.

I saw this elsewhere and thought I'd share here. Meghan's farewell note when she closed up The Tig instagram account. See if you can spot any similarities with their statement today.

"The couple signed a confidentiality agreement that prohibited them from discussing the details of the divorce or of their married life"

That ship had sailed long before the divorce surely?

HmmGrin

RosesandIris · 30/03/2020 22:38

That sign off on the Tog is just nauseating. I have no words. Even then she clearly thought she was Ghandi reincarnated.

The Mirror have this "Exclusive" about HaM's security and how they'll still be protected by The Met

By the way @Mummy195 and @chrisseldah1, I meant to reply to you earlier about this as no one else answered your question, as to the reason £20million was quoted as a figure for royal protection for Harry & family as opposed to the much more reasonably £8mill -

It's because £20mill it's the estimated cost of protecting, Harry, Meghan and Archie if they're all in different countries at the same time. Something which happened several times this year already apparently. 3 x £8mill = £24mill. It's explained in this article.

Dandy 🥇for the detective work

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 30/03/2020 22:53

Anyone know if we can object to paying for their security. Yes yes I know all about Diana but at least Diana stayed in the UK & didn’t do a flit across countries at the drop of a hat.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 30/03/2020 22:54

They really are a pair of spoilt brats. I’ve lost patience with the pair of them!

caringcarer · 31/03/2020 00:18

There was a petion going about the UK should not be funding people who are no longer royal and want to be financially independent. I signed it about 3 weeks ago.

caringcarer · 31/03/2020 00:24

Harry's money has been invested for him as he was a minor, so gained a few more million before he got access to it.

AmIbeingTreasonable · 31/03/2020 00:25

They should also repay the 20 million from that farce of a wedding!

7Penguins · 31/03/2020 07:55

I'm hoping that there will be a sea change in people's interest in 'celebrities',whether they're on the football field, in films or music and particularly on social media /reality shows. They've been placed on pedestals, which are proving to be pointless.

God I hope so. Very encouraging by the reactions online to the Imagine disaster. Grin

That Tig letter is 🤢

Without googling - isn't it George Clooney?

ajandjjmum · 31/03/2020 09:38

I remember when Diana died and her Will was sorted out, it was commented upon that it had not been written in a way to limit inheritance tax - presumably because she expected to be around for years. As with all of us, there was the opportunity to make amendments after her death, that would have saved a fortune in tax, but Charles/her executors decided not to go that route, so a lot of inheritance tax was paid.

I'm not sure what the net amount was, but it would certainly have increased with sound investment over the last 20 years.
