I’m actually in bed cuddled up to my puppy who’s very teddy bear like and the exact same colour as the bear in that GIF so it’s quite resonant.

I thought I was getting better from COVID-19 (Nb: not tested but ‘diagnosed’ by NHS-111 doctor) But it’s Day 10 and my symptoms have got worse. I’m still self-isolating from my family. Having woken from my nap I feel very down, the most I have since this started.

This thread is a good distraction although the last one sure had an odd vibe going on in the second half.

So sorry to hear about your relapse, Dandy. You're bound to feel despondent after ten days. Any virtual treats we can send you?

I think it helps to have something to take our mind of the awful CV. I know too many people affected by it now. It’s got very close to home.

Apologies if this was on the previous thread, but I’m assuming they left, but just because it’s their home town, but I think they’d soon have been needing to apply to stay here (Canada) as they’ve been here coming up to 6 months. Also, in LA if one of them got Covid they can pay for whatever dr they think is best. Here in Canada they’d be told to get in the queue. We don’t have private medical (except for cosmetic surgery that is not deemed medically necessary and fertility treatments - I think the latter is covered in some provinces but not where I live), so perhaps they didn’t fancy being in a shared hospital room with the plebs where the medical care is very good, but it’s not all swish private rooms with one nurse to a patient.

Sorry, bloody phone, should read not just because it’s her hometown! We need an emoji for when phone keyboards go rogue.

There’s a cray cray twitter account apparently had inside knowledge. Most of its posts are batshit but occasionally it gets things right. It said last week that Meghan was in LA, week before it was reported she was.

It's not because we're all bored and desperate to think/talk about something other than covid19 (and make anyone very easily amused cry with laughter*).

HaM will be overjoyed because being mocked a bit on a thread on MN is the pinnacle of A-lister-dom and will get them some great gigs.

I may be remembering incorrectly but wasn't there an issue regarding security provision if they were resident in the USA which was one of the reasons for choosing Canada? From what I recall, the American Secret Service will not protect them, they are not visiting Heads of State or Ambassadors and there are rules about foreign services operating on American soil outside of Embassies, rules that include the carrying of weapons. I recall reading that if they went to LA it would put the policemen from the UK charged with protecting them in a very difficult if not impossible situation. As they've lost their Royal status, do they fall into the band of just another celebrity/Hollywood couple now and security has to be employed at their own expense?

I think they went to Canada hoping for their half in half out solution. When that was shot down by the Queen they made the move to the US. All her work will be there anyway. It makes sense. And no drags anyone anywhere. The security detail will have signed on for it.

I don't know exactly why, but this reminded me of the episode of "The Windsors", where Trump wanted Charles and Camilla, and then Wills and Kate to come to America to be King and Queen....

I agree. The H&M saga has been a wonderful distraction from working at home and the fact that I am very high risk if/when I catch this thing. It's nice to have something to (mildly) obsess about.

I think if they paid up for frogmore and there was clarity on them paying for their own security these threads would be a lot emptier.

Agree. In fact, how do we all imagine that they manage to fly under the expensive radar when we are all distracted with 'life'? As it is, and as someone mentioned on the other thread, they are very nearly possibly earning their keep for the entertainment value alone. A genuine saga.
