Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

Why thank you, Not!

JulieWalters, you can't beat an all day breakfast.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 17:16

I take it that everyone has abandoned this thread for the doubtful pleasures of the next.

MHor.... would you if we ask kindly and curtsy.... set up a thread about the mr Markle interview later as I fear this will fill quickly and we are nearing full
We'll need one before then me thinks ...and we'll probably need a complete 40 page thread at least following the interview.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 17:16

Zero stirring is always good, Curly.

Half a jacket potato with cheese and butter for dinner here. All I could manage. I still feel 🤒. I'm going to have a bath and then slump on the sofa with a LemSip and ddog. Children had jacket potatoes, breaded chicken fillets and corn on the cob. Plain but they like it.

SingingLily · 22/01/2020 17:19

Comfort food, Wendy, quite right too! Hope you feel better soon.

Hope everyone is OK or will be OK soon.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 17:21

Being okay is also good, Lily.

Been reading this as a lurker and got some great meal plan ideas for the week! Grin

7Worfs · 22/01/2020 17:30

It’s nice to feel appreciated, Ranbow, and we didn’t have to travel 5000 miles for it! 🥰

7Worfs · 22/01/2020 17:31

Apologies about the typos, it’s the bay brain I swear!

The Canadian petition refusing to pay for H&M security has reached 80,000.

scurries off to find petition

The80sweregreat · 22/01/2020 17:49

Could you imagine a Canadian Royal ( I know they don't have a royal family of their own but just say they did ) decided to live in the UK and we had to pay for their security bills? Runs into millions etc etc. There would be uproar! I totally get it , no wonder they are upset about it.
I know it has links to the UK but this is still bad. Something M and H didn't think about?

7Worfs · 22/01/2020 17:58

It used to be the done thing for European royals to take under their wing exiled royals from other countries, but ofc that was different.
I think George V was supposed to help the Russian tsar family and save them from gruesome death at the hand of the commies... so sad that he didn’t. And they look so much alike too, second cousins IIRC.

Or even the baby brain? Grin

Here’s the petition.
www.taxpayer.com/media/No-Taxpayers-Money-For-Meghan-and-Harry.html

I’ve signed it using a Toronto postcode; just for fun!
Unfortunately you can’t see the number of signatures on this link.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 22/01/2020 18:32

There was a poster (on the second thread, I think) who seemed to be convinced that Archie didn't exist and that MM had never been pregnant.
My cousin was of this opinion. I have no idea why she decided this but, she was very strong-willed and I was too scared of falling out with her to argue with her.

Bluebellforest1 · 22/01/2020 18:33

Help! Where’s the new thread?

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 22/01/2020 18:33

That actually was a hugely complex situation as the Russian imperial family was very unpopular here at the time. In modern terms, it might be perceived as something like giving sage harbour to a war crimes dictator from another country. Very sad (and with hindsight surely the wrong call). But def trickier then.

FlickingVees · 22/01/2020 18:35

Apologies for the late start... that ol’devil called work Wreaks havoc with my MN habit.

How is everyone?

Listen, apologies if my nickname of “Merchie” came across as unkind to that poor baby.. I did say poor baby Merchie, as I really feel that they’ll use him now.. well, specifically Mega MerchAll will if she can slip away from the frog prince for a kerching pap run.

It’s too sad really.

For anyone who’s waiting for tests results, grieving cats, and thinking about Prince Charles silently bearing down on Davos in his leccy car with tufts of wild garlic on his chapeau, I hope you’re all ok?

OVienna · 22/01/2020 18:37

@Bluebellforest1 start it!

cooldarkroom · 22/01/2020 18:37

So if you are interested in what the Canadian Immigration is saying ?www.cicnews.com/2020/01/express-entry-may-be-an-immigration-option-for-royal-couple-if-meghan-were-the-principal-applicant-0113547.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter-20200122#gs.tkiaqv
Take it away !
As he is no longer Royal he shouldn't be able to waltz in.... Joke
