Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 10:30

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

So we're heading towards Thread Twelve.

I can't wait for my dinner.

I am sending you much love and hugs for your test results. Flowers Wine.

In the meantime laughter is the best medicine. In the interest of keeping the thread on topic but light hearted I think it is all in the spirit. It's no more bonkers than the news.

'Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind' Wink

You have my sympathy re cat alarm call. It is a new moon on Friday so I think that explains why the neighbours cat hammered on our front door 7 TIMES!!! through the night but when we opened it he refused to come in but kept attempting to lead us out down the driveway to play in the moonlight.

I wonder what they are having for dinner chez Sussex?

It won't be as nice as the dinner chez Mhor.

JulieWaltersCatSnaggedMyJumper · 22/01/2020 16:49

I agree SingingLily! What's on the menu OP?

Is everyone's dinner okay?

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 16:51

My dinner has been cooked by DH today and he has branched out from beans on toast to cottage pie.

It does smell wonderful though.

And thank you for your thoughts, MeghanMountbatten.

Sorry. I meant to tag JulieWalters. ^

Julie, you're right. I've never once asked anyone if they are OK today.

Is everyone OK?

Thriving, not just surviving?

We are having chilli con carne. However, as we really must try and stay within the purpose of the thread, I'd just like to add that the recipe is from the Castle of Mey cookbook. The Castle of Mey, of course, was the Queen Mum's but she left it to Charles and he is the father of Harry. As well the father-in-law of Meghan.

God that was tenuous. And tortuous. But I don't want to be scolded.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 16:53

Jeez. None of us wants to be scolded.

I'd hazard a guess that we are unlikely to see any "oh no I've been papped! " incidents now that Harry is around.

JulieWaltersCatSnaggedMyJumper · 22/01/2020 16:55

Grin You're welcome.

Frezia · 22/01/2020 16:56

You don't need serious core strength to front carry an 8 month old baby. Just an ergonomical carrier with good lumbar support, such as the model Meghan was wearing. If you found it uncomfortable to wear your baby at 6+ months, most likely your carrier wasn't supportive enough. Sadly, many popular slings such as BabyBjorn and Chicco are not supportive or comfortable enough for extended babywearing (such as going for a walk). I have close to zero core fitness but had no issues carrying a 2 year old in a toddler size carrier.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 22/01/2020 16:57

I think that after we watch the Thomas Markle thing tonight we will have plenty to say.

I wonder if Meghan will respond to anything he says?
I'd be surprised if she responded (although she might now she has given up royal duties) but I definitely think her friends will start talking/posting.

SingingLily · 22/01/2020 16:58

Then we are going to need a whole new thread. One with a very generous remit.

katiegoestoaldi · 22/01/2020 17:00

I'm sure Meghan her friends will have lots something to say to the press

SunsetBoulevard3 · 22/01/2020 17:02

Wendy
Yes, those were my thoughts. She can't pretend she's not setting up photo ops when Harry is there. That will present a bit of a problem, methinks.

Well I should think so too. I hope some of those ingredients are Duchy. We all need to be doing our bit to to support the independence. I had bacon, Denhay bacon, by Royal Appointment to HRH PoW. Not as glamorous as yours or others but tasty and quick.

Well I would be thriving but Harry (the cat not The Prince lets not start that rumour) kept me up all night. I hope you are ok.

It's lucky those milk adverts in China turned up in such a timely fashion to show what can be achieved with or without HRH...

GracefulHippo · 22/01/2020 17:06

Yeah a new thread!

I am planning on watching the documentary in bed with a cup of tea (or a glass of wine). Quite intriguing how the two sides of the story MM and TM absolutely cannot both be true.

My dinner is ok, thank you everyone. Slow cooked meat casserole in red wine with carrots and fresh bread to go with it.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 22/01/2020 17:06

I've just watched the story of John and only because of it being talked about on here. Wow, every day is an education. How utterly sad. If a documentary hadn't been made of it I would have suggested PH do one if he really is setting up a TV production company as reported.

My Great grandmother died in a mental hospital although my parents say she wasn't mentally ill. In the past many people were put in mental institutions unnecessarily. Census returns (1911?) stated whether people were 'imbeciles' or 'idiots'. When you look at it like that, we've come a long way with regard to taking care of those amongst us with mental ill-health, but we still have a long way to go.

Cuttingthegrass · 22/01/2020 17:09

MHor.... would you if we ask kindly and curtsy.... set up a thread about the mr Markle interview later as I fear this will fill quickly and we are nearing full

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 17:11

I'm just about to create the twelfth thread. If it fills up later we can discuss what to call the thirteenth, Cuttingthegrass.

SingingLily · 22/01/2020 17:12

Awaits Thread 12 with bated breath.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 22/01/2020 17:13

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

I think I'd award best post of the thread to the very first response by SingingLily:

"Put the kettle on, love"

"What's a kettle."

🤣🤣🤣

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 17:14

LET'S GO

Nothing much to add, apart from I’m thinking prawn and pea risotto, which I shall make in my instant pot.
About 10 mins prep and zero stirring.

I shall chat to those of you who are watching the Thomas Markle Interview live.

(FWIW, having been bled dry by a narc personality in RL, I can understand why Thomas Markle is so upset with Meghan, now that the scales have fallen from his eyes)
