Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

He's a great great uncle of Harry. Unlike the cats.

GuytheBeagle · 22/01/2020 15:23

Woof! Of course
( sorry)

katy1213 · 22/01/2020 15:23

I think the Queen has allowed him to keep his HRH - which he isn't supposed to use - because she knows that in a couple of years, if that, when Meghan dumps him, he'll be back with his tail between his legs.

GuytheBeagle · 22/01/2020 15:24

That was for 7

MrsDoubtTried · 22/01/2020 15:24

Prince John was related to Prince Harry. Obviously that makes it interesting. Confused

What is happening to this thread

MaisWeee · 22/01/2020 15:25

Oooh - found a link to a documentary.

I think. Assuming there's only one Prince John.

Tinselette1940 · 22/01/2020 15:25

Just the wiki at present Mais en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_John_of_the_United_Kingdom

Indeed!

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 15:25

MrsDoubtTried I think I was being ironic....

That's him Mais.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/01/2020 15:26

I got a phonecall from the gp this morning hauling me in because of dodgy blood values (liver). It's due to the chest infection but they are testing again in a month to check it has settled.

That happened to me too last year, Tinsel. And borderline diabetes. And slightly elevated cholesterol. All this despite my perfectly normal BMI and low sugar vegetarian diet (but maybe less active than I could be).

The very young GP had to give me a lecture about diet and exercise but you could see his heart wasn't in it. So they took more bloods a month later, results came out just the right side of "no cause for alarm", everybody calmed down.

Cuttingthegrass · 22/01/2020 15:26

So historically the Royal family has been more in line with the slimmed down version that PC is alleged to be planning ?

MaisWeee · 22/01/2020 15:27

Wow - poor little boy. and I'm only 5 minutes in. It was an age though where disabled children were seen as a shameful secret.

Tinselette1940 · 22/01/2020 15:28

Glad you're better myimaginarycat . I blurted out 'But I don't drink heavily* and she said' I know - theses are not the test results of a drinker!'

MrsDoubtTried · 22/01/2020 15:29

A snippet from the Poliakoff.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/01/2020 15:29

try not to worry Hippo, easier said than done I know Thanks

MrsDoubtTried · 22/01/2020 15:31

Oh. Didn’t realise I’d had a minor irony bypass...!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/01/2020 15:31

A big very unviperish hug from me to all those suffering with their health, loss of pets, poorly grumpy toddlers & anything else that is causing sadness.

Cats are brilliant. I mean what other animal can get away with the sheer audacity of head butting you/licking your face in the middle of the night, just because they can.

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 15:32

I think katy1213 has hit the nail on the head with this comment:

I think the Queen has allowed him to keep his HRH - which he isn't supposed to use - because she knows that in a couple of years, if that, when Meghan dumps him, he'll be back with his tail between his legs

We did say something along these lines yesterday IIRC.

'The Queen’s uncle wrote that his mentally disabled younger brother was like an “animal” whose death was a “great relief” to the royal family, it has emerged.

Edward VIII described how his sibling John, who was known as the Lost Prince because he was kept away from the public eye, had only been a “brother in flesh” and was “more of an animal”.'

Keeping everything crossed for you MistressMhor. The waiting is the worst part. I had a breast biopsy last week, and although the doctors are fairly confident it's benign microcalcifications, I am quietly shitting myself until I get the results next week.

Anyway, if Harry & Meghan genuinely wanted true privacy why are they staying on in Vancouver now the whole world knows where they are?

TheMustressMhor · 22/01/2020 15:33

My apologies MrsDoubtTried. I really didn't intend to insult you in any way.

Sorry.

CuttingTheGrass the RF had much larger families two generations ago, so they could spread out the royal duties much more easily.

Prince Charles only has two sons - and of course, one has stepped down from everything.
