How will they react to this?

Hang on, I've just read the statement and its worded very carefully:

"The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family."

It says use which I take to mean they will still be HRH and called that at events but not to actually use it to make money.

Also I bet Harry insisted on some nice words about Meghan.

No royal duties and no public funding either?

And the Palace is considering whether they can keep their Sussex Royal website. Quite right. Not royal any more so why should they be able to make money from it??

And why can they keep their duke and duchess titles??

It also says they ‘intend to repay the 2.4 million’.

So they keep their titles and Frogmore and they may pay the money back at some undecided time in the future.

Fuck me.

It was a hell of a scramble to get the new thread organised.

I was eating peach crumble and cream (home-made) and had to abandon it briefly.

“Sussex Royal” needs to go.

What about security? Who's funding that?

The statement kind of refused to say but did say there was a precedent for public funding of security..

I think it’s being done to protect Harry and Archie. Not Meghan.

Her Madge plays hardball. Respect where it's due. I think she marched into that meeting cracking her knuckles, before wrestling Harry to the ground and standing on his throat while rasping "You're going to feck all from me you little ginger whinger, d'ya hear me?"

I read it as not keeping their titles!

I very much doubt they’ve happily relinquished the HRH bit (well I wouldn’t 😂). I think this is a polite way of saying they’ve had the titles taken off them.

I hope their application for the Sussex Royal brand will be declined too. I don't think they should own the brand (trademark).

So what does losing HRH mean in reality? What can/can’t they do without it?

They have been removed of their titles.
Diana had the same thing happen to her.
They do play hardball this crowd.

Will they have to take the little crown off the logo?

Will no longer be styled HRH , but presumably still Sussex.

It was a bit woolly worded. I have expressed my wish to intend to return the library book which has been hiding under my bed for the last 6 months.

I wonder if the RF have released this limited information to see how it is received, and how hard they'll have to be with the remainder of the package - security etc.

They must be conscious that this whole fracas has damaged them, especially on top of the PA issue.

This bit is interesting as well

Why Spring though? Could it be tax year related? Given they've been on holiday surely it should be immediate effect as they didn't have anything in their diaries (except PH's Rugby thing the other day) once they got back from Canada?
