A Royal Wedding. Exciting.

OP posts:
UnquietDad · 16/11/2010 11:37

"DH-to-be not interested in choosing the flowers, says he has got to go and see some troops in something-i-stan. He could surely rearrange work for this. AIBU?"

ljgibbs · 16/11/2010 11:37

Oh must start thinking about my outfit for the day. (wonders when my invite will arrive.)

BendyBob · 16/11/2010 11:38

I wonder if the family business will supply the party bags, hats and paper napkins.

gramercy · 16/11/2010 11:38

The difference here is I suppose the powers that be are allowing him to marry who he wants instead of having to make a match with a suitably aristocratic girl and then carrying on with one true love all the time (like Dad did).

frogetyfrog · 16/11/2010 11:38

I just cant understand why anybody would be bothered. Its not as if we know them.

Are you all this bothered when the chap down the road gets engaged, or the woman at the supermarket cash till? Whats the difference?

But then I think the Royals have had their time, and its time to get rid.

Fimbo · 16/11/2010 11:40

Aww I think its nice.

Do you think her parents will be supplying the party cups and plates? Grin

Fimbo · 16/11/2010 11:40

Damn Bendybob beat me to it Grin

glittershoes · 16/11/2010 11:41

It better not be on 26th February - that's when I'm getting married!!

Nancy66 · 16/11/2010 11:42

May I reckon. Don't think they'd do July because of associations with Diana.

CrazyPlateLady · 16/11/2010 11:42

Ahhh thats lovely news.

Good for them.

I would love to know that I will be Queen one day!!! I'll cut some ribbons and shake peoples hands for that job! Grin

UnquietDad · 16/11/2010 11:42

"Oh god, Darling Fiance's embarrassing little shit of a brother is saying he is going to wear a Nazi uniform at the reception. His grandad encouraging him, thinks it is hilarious."

LadyWellian · 16/11/2010 11:42

Nancy66 what, no 30th anniversary tie-in? Wink

FellatioNelson · 16/11/2010 11:43

Shall we start a sweepstake on the ring? They usually go for coloured stones, and clusters rather than solitaires, don't they?
All the jewellers in the land will be raring to go with a copy. I s'pose she'll go for Welsh gold, not white, but yellow or maybe rose gold.I'm guessing either three diamonds, or emerald and diamonds in an art deco style - square. But not rose gold and emeralds together - that would be nasty.

What about the frock? Will have to think about that for it a bit. Actually I think I know already - I'll post some pics.

SparkleSoiree · 16/11/2010 11:43

Congratulations to them both!!

NoelEdmondshair · 16/11/2010 11:43

Relax, glittershoes, their wedding will be in Spring or Summer.

I wish the misery guts on this thread would shut up and start a thread in AIBU instead.

mummytime · 16/11/2010 11:44

frogetyfrog - actually yes (unless its those two I've been holding my breath waiting to break up, as you can see its a disaster).

Of course the major issues are: a) will we get a day off? b) just what else is going to be announced today (I'm a cynic) and c) is it St Pauls or Westminster or ????

traceybath · 16/11/2010 11:45

This thread is making me laugh - and Fellatio - have you given this some prior thought Wink

motherinferior · 16/11/2010 11:45

"AIBU to ask my future FIL to run his jokes by us in advance of our wedding?"

TigersChick · 16/11/2010 11:46

I think it's lovely news Grin

UQD - lol!
frogetyfrog - yes. I'm always chuffed for people who have good news, whoever they are ... maybe I'm just an old romantic Grin

MumInBeds · 16/11/2010 11:46

I have no idea why I am excited about this but I am. Party planning is already underway!

frogetyfrog · 16/11/2010 11:47

Mummytime - oh, ok. Its just me then that cant see the excitement of weddings! Dont most end in divorce?

Anyway - as Noel said, time to leave you all to enjoy. I am really surprised that there appear to be a number of people interested in a royal wedding these days, on this thread. I thought most people thought the royals a waste of space now.

motherinferior · 16/11/2010 11:47

"OMG I'm worried about a punch-up between my DF's and his uncle - they've never got along since his mother's funeral"...

UnquietDad · 16/11/2010 11:47

It had better bloody well NOT be on a Saturday in the middle of the new Doctor Who series.

Nancy66 · 16/11/2010 11:47

I hope she borrows Katie Price's cinderella coach

sparkle12mar08 · 16/11/2010 11:47
