Micia is found and hiding under a bed

ShoutyCatSlave · Yesterday 13:49

Ohhh, poor Micia. ☹️

I heard Agatha in the early hours 2 nights ago, running around downstairs. I assumed she'd caught a mouse or something, as she doesn't really do that otherwise. Came down in the morning, and nothing! Then I spied a(nother) dead rat on the decking (a different topic altogether!) and assumed she'd taken it outside once it was dead (she never even chews rats, just kills them and leaves them). However.... I was watering my snake plant this morning and thought it looked a bit odd in 1 section; bloody cat had left a mouse corpse dangled over / around some of the points like a manky decoration! Bleurgh.

She's been chewing on her cat mint and getting aggressively stoned this morning. Sigh.

I'm glad Micia is back home after her scary cat encounter. Had a calmer interaction yesterday between Boris, Matilda and one of the ginger kittens that have been coming into the garden. I wondered why when I opened the door Matilda stuck her head out and seemed a bit hesitant. Then I noticed Boris and ginger kitten, who seemed completely unbothered by Matilda and Boris. Boris seemed to think he should do something about this intruder, but he wasn't sure what, so just miaowed at it before giving up.

I'm still getting over the I am going to sit out in the rain showers to try to tempt her to show herself comment.

What's this thing called "rain"? We've had the occasional high wispy clouds here in Kent, but nowt else for a couple of months. Everything is dying - except the sodding brambles that have taken over the garden.

MiniPantherOwner · Yesterday 14:39

I know how you feel Allergic. We've had no more than a tiny sprinkling of rain in Leicester in weeks. The local park is terrifyingly dry. If we had a substantial downpour I would be running outside in excitement at the novelty of it. The cats would think I was mad, of course they don't do rain.

Visited Charles Darwin's house today. Best exhibit was this little chap (chappess?) at the front of the house who came running over miaowing at me when I called him. Even got a belly rub. 😻

How is it that EVERYWHERE you go, you encounter NMCs?

You'll get GT first 😸

The cats are beginning to leave their cool spots now that the weather has calmed down. I came downstairs this morning and found Fred and Lex waiting for me like the twins from The Shining.

Grumpy has the irresistible air of the beauteous Sybil on his person. No male cat, and few females, can ignore that.

That's more likely 😂.

Just for @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne's benefit.

I had to go out early today and spotted this NMC on the road. To be fair I've seen him before but never got a picture. He seemed very interested this morning. Very pretty, and yes I think he has a missing tail.

I'd better not mention the three ginger kittens spotted a few nights ago playing at the top of the road. I think they are probably feral.

Breadcat24 · Today 11:59

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats Poor little gingers needing a home!
I might go to Charles Darwin's house just to see that cat. Only about 3.5 hours each way!

I think Grumpy might be able to accommodate them. Or package them up for redistribution to The Litter Tray 😂

RumNotRun · Today 13:45

Oooh, I'll have one of the ginger kittens if @Grumpyoldpersonwithcatsis offering them out!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · Today 15:28

If I see them again - I'll see if I can kidnap them 😺😺😺

Apparently it's Black Cat Appreciation Day!

Is it me or does it seem like black cats have more days than t'others?

Anyhoos - I definitely appreciate all excellent black cats (and their excellent compadres that are not so black)
