Thanks for the new thread Broon!

I can’t remember if I’ve already shared this photo but it’s a good one.

Thanks for the new thread Broon, I hope you are feeling much better now.
No cat pics of my own but I saw this online and would like to share:

And thanks again for the new thread - posted on the new thread.
The cats are currently looking for anywhere to shade.

I am watching Emma again - the one with Romola Garai and Jonny Lee Miller.
None of the others are as good as this one IMO.

Poor buggers.

Friends, it's finally got hot in Argyll.
I'm only wearing one jumper instead of two.

I got my MRI results today and very oddly, they can find no evidence of strokes or any other neurological disorders.

So what caused my symptoms? I'm puzzled. I kept falling over and my speech was slurred. I was very, very dysphasic. It was three weeks before I started to improve.

And yet I've now completely recovered, thankfully.

I wasn't drunk.

Thanks for the new thread, and congratulations on your weight loss. Up to you whether I mean WLI or jumper 😅

I love that @Pudmyboy, very funny!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/08/2026 17:17

Stupidly I went into the London office today.
Dasboard of the car when I picked it up at the station on my return.

I'm melting...

Remembering what happened to your DS, have you asked whether they can be absolutely certain it’s not some obscure side-effect of something you’re currently taking, Broon?

Thanks for the new thread Broon
Very glad to hear that you're so much better.
Let's hope there's no repeat!!

38C here today 🔥🔥🔥
Mama Pollock has been asleep in the shady part of the house all day, Mini Pollock has been somewhere outside all day (!) and has just come in - only after encouragement and shaking of the treat tub -and is now stretched out on the staircase - hoping to trip us up... idiot excellent cat.

Have you got air con in your car @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats?
Otherwise it's a sweaty drive home 🥵

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/08/2026 18:27

I get the tube to the office 2 days a week, at the moment usually in a cotton dress & sandals. But I have to keep a cardigan there because the aircon makes the place bloody freezing.

No and yes 🥵

Raven was enjoying the ceiling fan earlier.

Mid/high 30s here in Kent, though the car thought it was 40 where it had been parked out in the sun all day. Needed to open both front doors until the aircon got down to temp then shut the doors again, while I waited on the slightly shadier side to let it cool down more before getting in. Windows down & drove to the far side of the building so it could cool more in the shade. When I opened the doors first, the heat rushing out almost knocked me back.

Got home & somehow both cats felt cool to the touch - goodness knows where they've been sleeping today.

The temperatures quoted by the met office are measured in the shade. It's quite likely in the sun it will have been well into the 40s.

ShoutyCatSlave · 13/08/2026 20:37

Agatha has been inside for most of today, and even used her litter tray for the first time in months. She usually only wees in it if it's pouring with rain, but I guess the ground was too hard / sun was too sunny for her to stay outside.

She's out, harassing the wildlife, now.

this shade has holes in it

I absolutely love this photo too. Am I going mad or is there coincidentally cat shape in the shadows with the tail formed by Micia's front paw on the right in the photo as the tail and the nose and mouth around her middle?

Breadcat24 · Yesterday 12:28

Thank you all! Drama here as There has been a cat altercation - lots of yowling with Micia and one of the TTTC (twin tuxedo thug cats- hope that is not copyright Grumpy). Husband raced out in his underwear (very private contained garden) and squirted tuxedo with a super soaker but currently no sign of Micia. I am going to sit out in the rain showers to try to tempt her to show herself.

Aha! Now we know the true identity of the mad woman who had that thread about super soakers.

Who remembers that?
🤣
