@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats
My sister requested Molly Mice for her kitties for Christmas. Whilst ordering them on Amazon I saw some adorable Catnip items from Battersea so I included them in the order...they've arrived first.
Evidently kitties were not impressed with the adorableness of them and have turned up their noses preferring to wait for the Molly's to arrive!
What is Molly's secret?!
I don't regret getting the Battersea ones though since the items support the rescue 😻

Sweetpea1532 · 20/12/2022 13:54

See, aren't they adorable🙄

I'm convinced that Molly's mice (and their spiritual predecessors, Culpeper, and The Natural Pet Toy Company) are the only mice filled with Grade A, street legal, 100% cat approved, raw catnip.
All other catnip toys are rubbish (according to my cats)
And here's Sybil sleeping off a Molly's Mouse high this afternoon.

The Yeowww ones are pretty decent according to mine. They certainly do if there's no Molly's Mice available.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 20/12/2022 16:55

Zooplus Valerian Pouches are a big high in this house, favoured over a Molly Mouse 🤷🏼‍♀️

ShoutyCatSlave · 20/12/2022 17:40

They are still on sale on the Cinnamon Trust website. I bought loads a while ago and shared a few with friends (well, their cats). Big hits all round. Agatha sucks them, then gets aggressive and chews their ears off.

Thanks for that - bought a few as I only have a couple left to give to the cats on XMas day

LostCats · 20/12/2022 19:19

Freak Meowt’s felt toys are the big hit here. Although those Battersea ones are super cute!!

Papergirl1968 · 20/12/2022 22:14

Echoing Supersimkin's healing vibes to Lostcats and Allergic.
Matt has also been to the vet today after keep weeing. Literally a few mins after he had used the litter tray, he was back on it, squeezing out another drop or two. And drinking loads.
So he had the indignity of a thermometer up the bum, being weighed (he'd gained 3kg since his last vet visit - the shame!), they did a blood test and finally gave him two injections. One was antibiotics, can't remembered the other was.
As well as whatever's going on with his wee, he seems to have a flea allergy.
I've got to take him back on Friday for a further check but the constant weeing has stopped at least.
I lost two cats at Christmas many years ago, one to an RTC and one to kidney failure. I had to make myself ask if this was life threatening and was so relieved to be told no, not immediately anyway. It may turn out to be something potentially life threatening like diabetes, but for now I'm reassured.
These cats do like to worry us!

LostCats · 21/12/2022 08:09

Paper, holding thumbs and paws for you that it isn’t serious and he is ok xxx

Boone still isn’t talking to me after the whole indignity of Monday 🙄

cheeseybeans19 · 21/12/2022 08:11

Please can I join too? Only had my boys 3 months and already know my place as their slave! Loving looking at all these gorgeous pictures 😻

Allergictoironing · 21/12/2022 09:17

Fingers crossed Paper. Hopefully it's just a UTI.

Boone still isn’t talking to me after the whole indignity of Monday 🙄

Exactly the opposite for me. After the first hour back at home, where he hid in the back of the wardrobe, Boycat has been even clingier than before - basically if he's awake, he wants my attention. He sits on the front door mat, which is just outside the study, waiting patiently for me to come out so he can have cuddles. I am thinking of calling the vets today to see if the appetite stimulant has come in yet, as I'm having to top the kibble up a LOT less than I used to. And from the size of her, I don't think Girlcat is eating any less than before!😮 Looks like she's going to give birth any day now...

Or - maybe she IS going to have a litter, and have a cat virgin birth for Christmas. The problem there would be how do you decide which of the kittens would be the chosen Feline Messiah? In this age of equality could be any one of them - colour and sex wouldn't be a determinant, and I'm a believer in talent rather than first born coming to the front.

Getting their disciples together shouldn't be a problem, they would have the Cats of The Litter Tray ready and waiting, but maybe there would be a bit of a power struggle especially around whether they go for the Gandhi style peaceful protest (e.g. Ollie) or the fire and brimstone smiting method (TC).

Allergictoironing · 21/12/2022 09:19

Oops went a bit off piste there! Blame it on the ADHD meds not having kicked in yet this morning 😆

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 21/12/2022 09:25

My best wishes to Boone, Matt and Boycat. Awful when they get ill, and yes, they really do know how to worry us.
Cedric is at the vet this morning, FWK is going away with the 'kittens' over Christmas, so inevitably Cedric has developed a poorly tum this week. Ideal for a long car journey, a very fluffy cat with the squits 🙀.
Also, sadly my brother and his wife are unable to come to us for Christmas this year because their elderly cat has been diagnosed with diabetes so is having to be injected twice a day. Cattery weren't comfortable doing it.. Cat is priority, can't argue with that.
And of course, just out of spite, most of the cats here will be planning an emergency Christmas Day vet visit, (merely to be found suffering from a surfeit of turkey and pigs in blankets). 😹

@Allergictoironing
Brilliant post 🤣.

Won't work I'm afraid - in my experience all cats assume that they are Gods...

Allergictoironing · 21/12/2022 10:02

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats You can tell you are a monotheist, the entire litter would of course be Gods but there is usually one God who stands above the others in the pantheon e.g. Zeus, Odin, Shiva, Jupiter, Amun-Ra. Of course being cats it's more likely to be a Queen at the top of the pile rather than a tom

@cheeseybeans19 that tax is enough to pay every MP’s salary! Just fluffsome festive loveliness.

Oh Paper, that’s rubbish for you and The Magnificent. Many 💐. He sounds like he’s on the mend, bless him.

Allergic - Girlcat could be the Mewing Messiah’s ‘voice to the people’. Avoids pesky personal appearances. Except on this thread, natch. With pix.

Big hug to everyone with sick kitties today. They give us the fear, don’t they. Second large hug and suggest nice-cup-of-tea-and-a-sitdown.

I could definitely see TC going round with a lightening bolt in hand paw. Still not sure Sybil would pay any attention though!

Oh my gosh those babies are gorgeous!!!

LostCats · 21/12/2022 14:56

Yes, I think there may be a power struggle for top place. However for sheer determination and staying power my money is on TC.

He’s gone carol singing with Havelock tonight, raising money for littl’uns with a troubled kittenhood.
