Sigh. So we’re being sent to a vet hospital in Winchester!! Boone has still got very wonky legs. Keeps falling down - the back legs just collapse under him. Falls down 2 stairs. Can’t jump anymore etc etc.
even on Rheumocam and Solensia. Beloved vet said she’ll do bloods but we’ll go to the drs in Winchester after the NY. For scans etc. Hes perfectly happy in himself and even gaining weight. But he’s just lame. It’s so weird. Although we know when it happened. A horrid bully cat but him in the back 2 months ago. If I could go back to that night and stop him going out…
so it may be nerve damage which may recover I hope!!
problem is we’re going away next Friday. And DH is almost ready to cancel the whole thing to stay with Boone.
but he’s going to our lovely Cattery who have known him since he was a baby. And there is no jumping or Eko to fight with. Just a lovely small room all on his own to watch the birds and eat and sleep in the sun. I’m hoping it makes a huge difference.
although a tiny part of me is terrified he’ll die while we’re away because we’re missing something huge 💔

Oh Lost, they're such a worry, aren't they? I hate going away when mine are poorly even though I know the Cattery takes lovely care of them.

One of mine has (we think) been bitten on the back leg - swollen and couldn't put it to the floor. Couple of days of antibiotics and painkillers and she seems a little better but can't climb the stairs or jump up on the sofa. Eating drinking and using litter tray just fine so keeping up with the meds for now.

Poor Boone, I hope he enjoys a restful stay at the Cattery and feels better soon

On her cushion instead, as magic poked like she wanted to go In it. She didn't move! I felt guilty for moving Cheddar!

Someone on the last thread asked how many cats we have.

The answer is two - Linney and Emerald.

Toby (black cat who shat in Christmas tree stand earth) was DD's cat. Casper (he who was pictured in the sink) belongs to a friend, and Goliath (with intentions of knocking down the Christmas tree) lives next door to Casper.

@LostCats I am sorry to hear about Boone. We worry so much about them when they're ill, don't we. I hope he improves.

I have just one cat no matter what anyone says

I’m worried I’d be here under false pretences. I don’t have a cat!!!! Boo hiss!!!

My old boy died last year after a bout of triaditis, suspect tumours and then a year of being diabetic.

I am divorcing and until I move next year I’m going to wait to get cats. I’d really like to foster the ones that find it hard to get adopted. Until then to satisfy my ‘cat needs’, I’m going to start cat sitting in the new year.

I like dogs as well, but cats are my favourite. I’m a natural born ‘cat pleaser’, I don’t mind the stinky eye and the bum in your face. Or the cuddle that draws blood, or the little protest turds I’d find if I dared to go away. Or the dead (and live)mice, shrews etc. I got to be a dab hand at rescuing them.

My idea of heaven would be to be trapped in bed with at least four and more cats snoring and snuffling to their hearts content.

I have five and two foster kittens. The two foster kittens have been with us for three months and DH is besotted with them . I've put in application to adopt them... Watch this space.
