I went out this morning. Leroy bit my leg for daring to take 2 minutes to go to the lav before bringing him out. Git.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/12/2022 13:06

Karl and Lenny are keeping me company while I work today. Lenny showed his contempt for me daring to photograph him.

So cosy.

Nothing like a nice nip to remain alert for The Promenade duty, Yes. You’re the security detail after all.

Apparently steroid injection has made him STARVING MAMA
He's eaten 4 pouches and 2 slices of roast chicken so far and is eyeing up the fridge for more

McVicar. She always looked impossibly well-behaved and sweet, but she had a habit of jumping on me in the middle of the night. I still miss her.

And here is Buster, who also went ORTB 17 months ago (He and McVicar died within a fortnight of one another).

Agatha still shouts and nips at me if I take too long with breakfast. Looks like butter wouldn't melt....

Update on Boycat, after his vet checkup.

He has lost a little bit more weight, losing everything he had put on last month (but no more than that). Vet pleased with his general condition all things considered, and his blood pressure is absolutely fine. She was very impressed with how good his coat still is.

Discussed that he does seem to be a little patchy with his appetite, and they are ordering me a new type of appetite stimulant that rather being in pill form, or liquid you put on their food, is a gel you rub into their ear!

Still looking at most likely 3-6 months.

He was an absolute superstar there. Let her stroke & fondle him including his belly, "white coat syndrome" lasted only the first couple of blood pressure tests and it was down to good by the 3rd check (they do 5), allowed a small child in the reception (in with rabbits) to stroke him without cringing. Even more was that he DIDN'T cry all the way home hiding in the back of the crate, but stayed near the door!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/12/2022 11:17

Ah well, that's as positive as it can be and he's clearly still in good form at present.
Just keep spoiling him.

@Allergictoironing That sounds not too bad and I'm glad he wasn't too stressed by it all.

Well done Boycat 🥰 Ask your mum to give you a li'l butt scritch from me.

TheShellBeach · 19/12/2022 11:40

You would think that Buster and McVicar were BFFs to see this photo but I think this is the only one I've got of them together and not arguing.

TheShellBeach · 19/12/2022 11:42

Where did the picture go?

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 19/12/2022 11:55

Oooh, please can I join in? I’ve got Cookie , the Queen and her son Barney, the daft tuxedo cat who was born upstairs and is the tamest thing ever.

I will give him an extra scritch from you later Yes, though he does get plenty anyway. Or if you wanted, I could poke my finger as far down his ear as I can - which he actually adores! Always said he's a bit weird. Currently upstairs on the bed ignoring me in a bit of a sulk.

In other news, had a chat this morning with my future boss's boss who will be doing the first week of my induction in the new year. She also sounds absolutely lovely. Downside, I have to commute to Dover for my first week. Upside, I explained that I may need to either have a half day off or work from home for a day in the first couple of weeks for a vet visit due to Boycat's CKD, and she was totally on board with it and said his vet visits must take priority. I think I may like this team!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 19/12/2022 12:56

😂

I'm just worried that both A&E departments and veterinary practices all over the UK will now be seeing an unusual rise in finger-cat-ear incidents.
😿👈
