The adventures of Newerboy

I've got a Siamese cat. He was abandoned by his owner and is living in state - three nests made by neighbours - in our garden. He is absolutely beautiful, aged 11, and a white/cream colour, brown eyes I think. So far we have blinked at each other, me flat on face behind bush in garden.

The lady who feeds him is going away for 6 weeks. She is in a royal state of anxiety so I stepped in. Have been trained to do the feeding, leg massage, etc.

His history is shameful. He has been coming to us for food for ages, finally taken to Battersea, where his so-called owner collected him in 90 minutes. Then left him to starve. So you see I can't not.

Any words of wisdom? I need them.

Sounds good. If there's nothing in the tenants' storeroom, just buy a waterproof cat shelter? (That's guilt talking - I've just turned on the heating for Newboy.) Blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2017 16:35

Asbo has the heating on in the utility before bed. Plus two hot water bottles, and a huge fleece that used to be mine.

cozietoesie · 17/12/2017 16:37

Two hot water bottles? I know he's a big boy but still.................Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2017 16:49

One in the covered bed, one in the uncovered bed.

cozietoesie · 17/12/2017 17:05

Lordy. This is only getting worse. He has two beds?? Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2017 17:08

Three when his radiator beds put up.

I've taken it down while it's so cold so the landings warmer.

cozietoesie · 17/12/2017 17:11

So while it's cold he's restricted to two beds? I'm surprised you can even admit this, Fluffy. Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2017 17:25

I put a fleece on the bed & a hot water bottle under the duvet so he has our bed during the day if I'm home.

This week I've been trained to deliver lunch on the stairs as the tiles are too cold for paws.

I'm coming along brilliantly.

cozietoesie · 17/12/2017 17:32

You're doing well. Grin

(Out of interest, where does DH have his meals? (Which, I assume, are also delivered?)

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2017 17:37

At the table Grin delivered

The cat lived on roast Guinea fowl yesterday. Today's gourmet is being choked down.

Lanaorana2 · 17/12/2017 19:04

Your star chart must be glittering F Grin

Not long to go before the little 'Petcare' badge for your lapel. pinned carefully to every outfit.

Brilliant re weighing tarpaulin down, hadn't thought of that.

I'm going to wait until Tues when I have some £ and get a waterproof cat house. In the meantime, wish me luck with Pet Architecture Plan A, as above.

So you gave ASBO DH's guinea fowl scraps? (Please tell me the GF wasn't cooked especially for ASBO?) Wink

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2017 19:35

My halo is shining as we speak.

It was left overs. I was never going to use them up in a month of Sunday's.

Lanaorana2 · 17/12/2017 19:44

OOh I love guinea fowl, me.

Well that went badly. Wouldn't come out of sodden home for supper or even take a tour of new luxury studio flat in city centre, let alone get into it. It's lined with old Cos dresses, for the love of Pete. Biscuit

I ran out of Dreamies which prob explains this. And nearly broke my leg tripping over a vine thing, he was prob put off by the grumbly swearing.

Accepted rub on head and hot water bottle. And LW supper put outside old home.

The best bit was as I wobbled home, the cats in our vast block appeared at their windows to monitor. me. Landlord says no pets are allowed. A furry face appeared at every window.

I have permission for Mr C, as it happens.

How is Newboy?

I 'think' he's just snuck downstairs to investigate the last few crumbs of his tea. (Left on his plate.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2017 20:04

No pets = keep quiet about it.

cozietoesie · 17/12/2017 20:20

Well the last few crumbs have gone. Smile

Lanaorana2 · 17/12/2017 20:25

F Grin

The fashion for English bulldogs, pugs and tiny Pomeranisns is also with us, something of a craze round here. The sweetest thing is that all the dogs are really, really nice and don't bark in corridors in case they disturb the cats. Considerate neighbours.

I have arrived home to silence and a paws together glaring. I said I would be home for 10pm and I am not Blush

cozietoesie · 17/12/2017 22:47

You're lucky you haven't (I presume) got a grandfather clock going. He might be sitting under it, looking accusingly at the dial. Grin

Ollivander84 · 17/12/2017 22:54

7 minutes before I was lovingly head bopped and forgiven. He's chatting away to da bird toy

Ollivander84 · 17/12/2017 22:57

Further update. Da bird toy has gone away as someone decided to play testing their teeth on human. No bloody way Hmm

Lanaorana2 · 17/12/2017 23:09

That nibble wasn't an accident. Are you on curfew now till after Xmas?

Good luck tomorrow.

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 17/12/2017 23:11

He's been put outside the room so had some howling to listen to! Thanks, not nervous... yet Grin

cozietoesie · 17/12/2017 23:18

So you weren't forgiven after all? Grin
