I've got a Siamese cat. He was abandoned by his owner and is living in state - three nests made by neighbours - in our garden. He is absolutely beautiful, aged 11, and a white/cream colour, brown eyes I think. So far we have blinked at each other, me flat on face behind bush in garden.

The lady who feeds him is going away for 6 weeks. She is in a royal state of anxiety so I stepped in. Have been trained to do the feeding, leg massage, etc.

His history is shameful. He has been coming to us for food for ages, finally taken to Battersea, where his so-called owner collected him in 90 minutes. Then left him to starve. So you see I can't not.

Any words of wisdom? I need them.

Ooh try it Grin he might love it

cozietoesie · 31/01/2018 00:20

Red ribbon, maybe. Grin

Ollivander84 · 31/01/2018 00:24

Ollie says he can have a borrow of his if he doesn't chew it. An he must do "RIBBON face"

cozietoesie · 31/01/2018 00:35

I can't find a single brown mouse. I don't know how to avoid the palace revolution that may follow tonight.

cozietoesie · 31/01/2018 00:37

I'm afraid that PB wouldn't do 'Ribbon Face'. He can manage 'Gimme' though. Sad

Ollivander84 · 31/01/2018 00:45

Gimme is a good start. I reckon he has a stash of those mice somewhere lined up to traumatise any real ones that might dare approach

cozietoesie · 31/01/2018 00:51

I found ONE. He's now terrorising it. (Started that some fifteen seconds after I put it in his official 'mouse place'.)

cozietoesie · 31/01/2018 01:13

I just had to retrieve said mouse from the ground floor shower room. (Heard the door squeak.) He's 're-found' it, I fear.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 31/01/2018 11:53

He'll even permit some stroking while he's eating a Dreamy

That's massive. Well done. He'll get used to your scent on him that way.

Do try the ribbon.

Will he sniff your fist if offered maybe with a Dreamie in it

Lanaorana2 · 31/01/2018 12:11

Stroking!!! Pet contact is achieved!!!!

Massive milestone. He has come such a very long way.

You must be so pleased with yourself C, megavictory. Is he lovely and soft?

They do ration these things as core policy, one notes. Sometimes I fancy a facial belly rub ie tickling Mr C's furry tum with my nose but he won't let me. He only offers belly after ham. He really likes it, too, but dignities must be preserved.

Oh Yes. Hand/fist sniffing is fine. Smile

YetAnotherSpartacus · 31/01/2018 14:10

I do think you are getting somewhere with him!

cozietoesie · 31/01/2018 15:55

I hope so. Really do. We've become accustomed to his ways but I yearn for some extra, still. My main concern is if he needs to be vetted - I can't really face another fight like last time.

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/01/2018 16:21

Well you couldn't have done this when he first came. Where does he sleep?.

You must miss the closeness you've had with previous Siamese.

cozietoesie · 31/01/2018 16:24

He sleeps in his LWT. I may have sharpened a sword for myself on that one but at least I know he's cozy. (No need to leave the heating on overnight.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/01/2018 16:35

Could you move lwt to your bedroom?.

cozietoesie · 31/01/2018 16:46

I don't think that would work well - he's used to CT being 'his' safe territory. I could, though, set up his spare LWT (laundry etc) there. So - good idea.

Lanaorana2 · 31/01/2018 17:02

Play hard, girlfriend. Set up the other LWT on the bed. Maybe put a plank or something underneath it to keep it straight. It can't be more uncomfortable than having the cat on you, anyway.

I would be massively frustrated at not having Bed. Until about 4 min in when you realise you will never kip properly again.

Put dreamies in it every night till the light dawns.

Ollivander84 · 31/01/2018 17:15

I've created my own monster by buying that bed and sheepskin. Ollie never sleeps on my bed anymore Shock he tucks himself up for an early night then waits patiently outside my door until I wake up

Lanaorana2 · 31/01/2018 19:11

Mr C punches his way onto my pillow, lets rip a massive fart, dumps himself down, belches, and performs intimate grooming in my face. He kicks me if I try and read a book and gives the light the evils when he wants to drop off. I stroke him till he does, then lie there rigid till grey dawn.

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 31/01/2018 21:08

I think Mr C is really a man ...

Lanaorana2 · 31/01/2018 22:05

One of the things I love most about Mr C is how funny it is that he is an utter bloke. He's really, really macho which is nothing but endearing when it's wrapped in fudgy tabby fur.

C do you want to tell us how PB is tonight on a new thread?
