Blondeshavemorefun · 21/02/2010 12:17

so witty jack

only a few hours till on again tonight

wintera · 21/02/2010 22:16

F*ing hell!!!! Tonight's episode was amazing! Seriously, that was the best hour's tv I've seen in ages!

WingedVictory · 21/02/2010 22:20

I had always wondered how Mitchell could not have heard the name Jaggett at the hospital (Surely there are rotas and name badges and so on!), and thought Jaggett was an alias for CENSSA. I was a bit thrown when she was revealed not to be the leading light there (that is Kemp), but put that aside.

Do you suppose a hospital porter might not be plugged in enough to the hierarchy to not see her name anywhere? All I can think of on that score.

Meanwhile, - ugh! - did you see the intestines on the train passenger's lap?! That was horrible!

wintera · 21/02/2010 22:24

I just loved the bit with George nearly transforming at the school. It was gripping! Think I might have to go to hospital to have my buttocks surgically unclenched!!

Squitten · 21/02/2010 22:28

Brilliant episode! So so dark. I'm very excited about next week but very sad too - what are we going to DO without BH...?!

WingedVictory · 21/02/2010 22:32

I'm sure there are fanfic sites around, Squitten!

noeyedear · 21/02/2010 23:17

It looks like next week is going to be apocalyptic, but they HAVE to do series 3! Dont they? Or i'll turn into one of those annoying people who goes' what am I paying my licence fee for?

WingedVictory · 22/02/2010 00:16

In the trailer, Mitchell had blood round his mouth, so there has to be at least a bit of bloodshed.

Maybe ONE of the housemates will be killed off. Or Nina. After all, Doctors regenerate, and Torchwood killed off pretty much all its original staff, Susie in the introductory episode!

Did anyone else think that Mitchell was suffering from the reverse of the "withdrawal" process he described? If, when a vampire gives up blood, the past deaths come back to haunt him/her, perhaps when s/he starts up again, everything human is blotted out? He was having difficulty controlling the pigment of his eyes.

Bleatblurt · 22/02/2010 00:16

Oh God, the train scene was AWFUL. I am so squeamish that made me totally squirm and hide behind a pillow!

I can't believe Mitchell didn't know Lucy's last name! I mean, he's dated her and shagged her, how could he not have this simple piece of info! And yes, her name badge at the hospital surely had it on. Unless she was using a fake name at the hospital?

Sunday nights are Being Human and Glee - I really should have watched Glee AFTER BH so I didn't have to turn out the light with the images of BH in my head!

Completely O/T, but WingedVictory, you posted on a thread of mine a few days ago and I haven't been back and posted as I was just feeling.... I dunno... but wanted to say thanks, and you were right about putting it away.

WingedVictory · 22/02/2010 00:47

Well, the hospital chaplain knew her full name, so it can't have been an alias. It is a niggle, isn't it?

noeyedear · 22/02/2010 08:22

Unless he had seen/heard the name, but it didn't really register as important until he heard it in the context of her trying to kill him and his mates going to their doom...

Squitten · 22/02/2010 11:03

I also wondered how he didn't know her name. Especially as she's a doctor, who would surely be called Doctor Jaggat around the hospital, rather than Doctor Lucy...? Continuity people should be sacked

I assumed Mitchell was basically blood drunk. He'd gorged himself after decades of abstinence and it made him drunk, hence he was talking rubbish and couldn't control his eyes.

I find that as the last episode approaches, I'm actually the most interested in Annie's story. Will she cross over??

WingedVictory · 22/02/2010 11:12

Yes, I think that must be it, but it's annoying that it's such a distinctive name.

I had a 4:30 wakeup, and couldn't sleep afterwards, so had lots of time to think about all sorts of things, and it occurred to me that this series has basically been the fall of Saddam Hussein, with the "liberating" force becoming occupiers and facing a mess of violence i the sudden absence of the framework/ the "disciplinarian". The unwary occupiers have ended up condoning some pretty shitty compromises and overlooking some pretty horrible abuses, and have been really compromised themselves (resurrected Abu Ghraib/ funeral parlour, anyone?).

There's no apparent resolution in Iraq, so I hope Toby Whithouse has a different idea for Series 3, because the daily business of occupation probably isn't the sort of drama for this (BH)! Maybe the series will have to revert to sci-fi tropes to continue: e.g. a mass catharsis, a sense of peace... then a twitching remnant of the evil.... [wish there were some Hallowe'en emoticons left over!]

Mitchell can't really come back from this; he is no longer trying to "Be Human", and there doesn't seem to be another vampire who is... unless Lucy is to be "infected" (rather than recruited?) and will then have to hide from Kemp.

Sorry if this is taking it too seriously. I was bored, after all! In any case, there are only a few plots in life and lit, aren't there?

WingedVictory · 22/02/2010 12:02

Sorry, Squitten, missed your post. Yes, Annie is interesting, and the side-plot of her getting bored while Kemp over-exorcised (sounds knackering) provided a nice comedic leaven.

MrsMotMot · 22/02/2010 12:20

Whoa... what an episode! So gruesome! Thought the ipod in the guy's mouth was the worst bit, actually. And all that sticky blood on their bodies YUCK!

George transforming in the street was the best bit, with the music. I think he's a really good actor, the tears in his eyes when Molly screamed at him... great stuff.

I too am not sure how Mitchell will come back from that blood fest on the train. Daisy is fruit the loop anyway but Mitchell does still have a bit of humanity in him- but is it redeemable? Lucy will have to 'save' him and give him a reason. Although she could pout less.

Am still waiting for the double transformation of werewolves and where is the werewolf baby. Hmmm.

WingedVictory · 22/02/2010 12:35

"I too am not sure how Mitchell will come back from that blood fest on the train."

Squitten, o oracle! Can you tell us whether AT is signed up for the next series?

(I know, this is cheating....)

Squitten · 22/02/2010 14:36

Can only find one source that says AT, RT and LC are all signed up so not 100%...

Series 3 is deffo happening so I guess we can assume whoever survives next week will be going on with it!

bewareofthedog · 22/02/2010 21:02

That was gruesomely gripping. I've never watched it through my fingers before, but today I did. It's getting very dark isn't it? The last series seems really lighthearted looking back. I don't know how it can continue beyond this, and I would be really upset to lose one of the main three.

SearchingForMyInnerJoan · 22/02/2010 21:15

LOVE IT!

Am I thinking too much to be wondering what happened to Daisy's baby that she left behind when she went with Ivan during the blitz and maybe... maybe he could be...
KEMP?
Or is that a conspiracy theory too far?

Stilla · 22/02/2010 21:47

Daisy's baby - do you not remember when Daisy was at the hospital and George walked in on her ........with her daughter ?

SearchingForMyInnerJoan · 22/02/2010 21:59

Ah!
Oh dear I might have to watch the whole series all over again...

Stilla · 22/02/2010 22:09

It was at the end of the first episode - just after Nina told George he'd made her a werewolf.

WingedVictory · 22/02/2010 23:02

Yes, Daisy wanted to kill the old woman, her daughter.

SearchingForMyInnerJoan · 22/02/2010 23:32

ooh she's nasty
I try to remember details of the plot but can only ever remember/think of Mitchell...
