Squitten, does that mean the series is axed? I'm beginning to wonder, what with the talk of Jaggett's staking Mitchell, as well...

Squitten · 13/02/2010 08:45

No! shock, horror

According to the official blog, they have already commissioned series 3 I think this is one of the most popular things the BBC has done in a long time so they'll keep it rolling. Just hope they stop before it goes awry...

WingedVictory · 13/02/2010 09:49

Oh, well, that's a relief.

Divatheshopaholic · 14/02/2010 21:27

great they are doing series 3.

southeastastra · 14/02/2010 21:29

it's boring now

next

edam · 14/02/2010 22:06

Oh SEA, how can you say that? I sobbed over Annie's Mum. Really moving. (Reminded me of what my own mother said when I got ill.)

Divatheshopaholic · 14/02/2010 22:28

i cried, i wanted to meet my dad, and ask what happened to him, i want to know his lat day
because i never let him go in my heart,i always talk to him.

edam · 14/02/2010 23:10

Aw, Diva.

WingedVictory · 14/02/2010 23:29

Diva, I have a bit of thing about that kind of mourning: I think it's exactly the right thing to do. The person doesn't remain still and dead, which is when their memory might fade, but stays alive and changes, and is always aware of what is going on with your life.

Hope you are all well. It was quite a nice episode tonight, although I'm not sure what Miss Molly is playing at. She probably thinks George is into kiddie porn or something like that, rather than being a literal, not figurative, monster! And does anyone else wonder whether they put wooden splinters in the bomb in the funeral parlour, to "stake" all the vampires? Or is that a bit silly?

Dominique07 · 14/02/2010 23:46

Oh! I think I've missed a few.
oh I'm going to be ok, its on at 11.50 on BBC Three, sigh. I'm going to have a late one then. eek.

WingedVictory · 15/02/2010 00:01

Use the i-player, Dominique! Have a nice early night if you need one. I'm not going to (even tho' planning to got to bed now), but that's just because now is late.

'Night, all!

edam · 15/02/2010 11:14

I did wonder whether vampires can really be killed with a bomb. Surely you need stakes or a vat of garlic or to impale them on a cross or something?

Maybe they put holy water in the bomb?

edam · 15/02/2010 11:15

Loved the vampire parody of AA meetings, btw, 'It's been 16 days and 7 hours since my last drink...'

Can anyone explain the deal with vampires? Why do they sometimes kill and sometimes recruit? Can't they feed and recruit at the same time so that they avoid killing? Is it not as satisfying if they don't kill?

YES: I really want to know the answer to this too: how do they do it? do they decide themselves? Is feeding messier / recruiting neater? Why does it take a while for new recruits to 'come round' afterwards?

Squitten · 16/02/2010 20:03

Loved this episode. Really liked Annie's plot.

As for why vampires only recruit sometimes, why wouldn't they...? If they recruited everyone, the normal humans might start to notice when the entire population was undead! The whole point of the vamp story so far has been about vampires being an underground, hidden community.

They've never really dealt with the whole recruiting process so far. Lauren was recruited, obviously, but they never showed how. I assume it wasn't by drinking Mitchell's blood...?

WingedVictory · 16/02/2010 23:35

In Dracula, the recruitment is done by the human's drinking the vampire's blood, and this is the method used in lots of other vampire "literature" (makes it sound like Health Visitors' bumph on Vitamin K!) I have read.
