Have just watched it on the i-player, and it was rather uneven. Not in the sense that there was no thematic continuity between the plot strands (all 3 are having similar difficulty trying to cheat their natures, trying to cheat the forces ranged against them, etc.).
But Divatheshopaholic, you are quite right to target George's moving-on-quite-so-quickly. Ugh! Not just morally unsatisfying, but such a plot cop-out! Couldn't they just let him swear a bit with his students? Or feel protective love for his students, and want to attack someone for that reason?
And I wasn't quite convinced about Ivan's conversion. Why would he care about vampire emotions, even if they were hope and excitement and the sensations of fasting.
Grrr.
It was an interesting switch, though, to see Prof Jaggat relegated to intellectual window-dressing for Kemp's crusade.
