the dad was really odd, either shouting or talking to the girls like they were babies

Actually she really came to life when the grandchild was there didn't she? Up until then she'd been quite sullen and moody but smiled and happily played with her whilst feeding her.

Maybe she loves the baby stage but isn't so keen on teenagers

ladystardust · 25/09/2008 10:24

The whole not going to school thing?
Almost exactly the same words have been exchanged between me and dd and dd's dad - extraordinary!
LOVE the way the dynamics play out - the blame, the manipulation, the resentments.
And YES all you with toddlers - that IS what you have to look forward to!

Boyswillbeboys · 25/09/2008 11:14

I felt a bit sorry for the Dad, he seems to do all the cooking aswell as working. Mum spent most of the time in her dressing gown watching TV, perhaps that's where the daughters get their lack of ambition??

She was really sweet with the baby though and I thought it was lovely when she was dancing with Charlotte at the end - beautiful song.

pmsl at Cod's "No i am prefecting the dark circles aroudn myeyes"

I did wonder how shes managed to be 40 yrs old, have 3 make-up wearing daughters yet never to have heard about products such as Touche Eclat

NotAnOtter · 25/09/2008 21:43

she is attractive i think

She probably puts more slap on when she has to .. she is in a documentary not style show

very uninspiring to those girls though imo

my job as a parent to teenagers is to try to inspire them ..i just feel that her über laid-back approach - although very loving is maybe not the most beneficial to girls 'prospects'

Divvy · 26/09/2008 17:16

"No, you are never sorry are you?"

I say alot of what the mum and dad say.......ALOT!!!!

Teens are fucking hard work, give me a toddler any time!

Divvy · 26/09/2008 17:18

Also, have you tried to nail jelly to tree? Thats fucking had too!

Teens, nailing jelly to a tree.

kiddiz · 26/09/2008 17:52

"Maybe she loves the baby stage but isn't so keen on teenagers" me too
"Teens are fucking hard work, give me a toddler any time!" me too !!!!

bubblerock · 26/09/2008 18:30

Wasn't the kitchen small?

Divvy · 26/09/2008 19:39

Yes, and must be hard with the bathrooms only access through the parents bedroom

Kiddiz - we must live in the same world!

A teen world...as its all about them too! Sod everyone else.

I bloody hate it! A roller coaster, with not a very even ride, not enough highs for the amounts of lows!

strummer · 30/09/2008 22:16

Dd goes to school with Charlotte, and we live in the next village to Simon and Jane.
