LOL Fio. Your family sounds very similar to mine.

RTKangaMummy · 18/09/2008 15:04

There was a thread on here a little while back where a mum of two young dcs was saying she didn't think it was right to charge your adult dcs keep when they are still living at home. Can't remember details but take note!!! Emily is the reason why you should charge them keep!!!!!!!!!!Imo her behaviour is fairly typical of how some teenagers behave, but, at 19, she is an adult and needs to be treated as such and paying her way is part of that. As is facing the consequences of her actions such as lying about being sick.

I enjoyed this and "lolled" at the part where the son coolly sweeps his towel around and smashes the glass, reminded me of my brother!

I said to dp that it is depressing that we have all this to come but there again my family were not like that at all but he said that he was like Emily (going out late, answering back etc) and rowed all the time. Interestingly, I am from a working class background and he is from a very middle class one so maybe that's why he could empathise with it? Or maybe he was just a sod and I wasn't

hughjarssss · 18/09/2008 16:03

I agree kiddiz.

juliejukes · 18/09/2008 21:33

If my DD acts like Emily when she is 19 and doesn't pay me digs she will come home one day and her bedroom will be bare apart from a mattress she will be locked out the the bathroom and all the plug sockets will be removed from her bedroom walls plus there will be no grub for her!

SlartyBartFast · 18/09/2008 21:36

how can they possibly be behaving naturally with all those cameras?

saggyhairyarse · 19/09/2008 14:39

You made The Mirror ladies:

shinyshoes · 19/09/2008 15:02

I have just read that in the mirror funnily enough.

None of my quotes were mentioned though

controlfreakinfreaky · 19/09/2008 16:31

fame, fame at last

SlartyBartFast · 19/09/2008 21:52

did i make a quote? nope me neither

candyfluff · 20/09/2008 15:02

i did enjoy this programme,am hoping that my dc's don't end up like emily!!!
i was married and had a 0ne year old when i was 19 so cant really understand her bad behaviour.
i also want to know why the 13 yr old son was doing up at 11pm imo thats too late!!!!

Aitch · 22/09/2008 14:41

lololol i made the cut! although am probably not mad proud as i was calling a teenage girl 'thick' at the time.

Gateau · 22/09/2008 15:12

I found this really boring viewing and turned it over after five minutes. Not quite sure why anyone would be interested in watching another family so close up.
But, horses for courses and all that....

whyme2 · 22/09/2008 15:33

I thuoght it wasn't real TBH. It seemed so far from my life.

thefortbuilder · 22/09/2008 16:43

i was mortified watching it - i was a horrible teenager and saw a lot of how i behaved (rudeness, shortness with family members, when the mum said don't be so aggressive emily). went to uni at 18 but before that i can see exactly how awful i was.

never really really realised it before

she needs to have some time on her own two feet to be independent, not living at home
