Just watched 20 minutes of episode 1

Love it.

The episode where they go camping was my favourite!

TheSmellOfSea · 18/07/2026 23:13

I'm only 2 episodes in so I'll come back when I've finished.

The laser though 🤣

Personally I'm cool with spoilers. It's not a Blondes thread so if you want to post spoilers do so

Edited

but indeed you bingers 😛

I will avoid and catch up when see them all 😊

Binged the whole lot tonight. I loved it. Some genuinely laugh out moments, some bits had me crying. Really funny and poignant.

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 19/07/2026 04:49

We’ve watched all 6 episodes and both DH and myself loved it ! “ How much do you weigh” had me proper laughing out loud….x

MrsLargeEmbodied · 19/07/2026 08:15

i am enjoying this

StormySam · 19/07/2026 08:33

Thought it was brilliant. Binged watched it. Hoping for a s2

Astrabees · 19/07/2026 12:00

I really enjoyed this too. I was laughing out loud (a rare thing for me) when Chris demonstrated the “hip opening exercise” on Michael’s wife.

CypressMoon · 19/07/2026 12:01

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2026 21:54

I said that to Dh, it’s Kevin !! He was none the wiser

Snap. Bit of a shame that he has to rehash Kevin though as he is an amazing, versatile actor.

I loved Sue!Sue!Sue!

She's the co-creator with Diane Morgan. (She's Sarah Kendall.)

I wasn't expecting to like this much, but I did. Will continue.

Edited

... and husband spotted that Sarah Kendall was the Australian social worker in Clare in the Community (Radio 4).

We're about halfway through now. Really enjoying this. Diane Morgan deserves an award.

IAmKerplunk · 18/07/2026 21:28

I love Diane Morgan and Sue Johnson but didn’t think this was my thing. After reading this thread definitely going to give it a go

I think most people thought that as it seems daft but I haven’t laughed out loud at a tv programme for years like I did with this.

the80sweregreat · 19/07/2026 16:05

I love how Linda ‘ tells it like it is’ , but she can because she is a robot! No wonder people are wary of them . 😆

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/07/2026 16:29

One of the many things I am really enjoying is Phyllis, the awful woman whose husband is Rupert Vansittart (who creepily can't take his eyes off Linda). Actor is Margot Leicester. Wonderful putdowns!

indigorising · 19/07/2026 18:46

Started watching on the recommend of this thread. It’s a good watch.

Do you (or anybody) know where you can see them all? Some series seem to be readily available whereas others seem to fly right under the radar.

Do you have the free U app. There are adverts but not bad.

duckydoo234 · 18/07/2026 10:34

I mostly loved it, but by about episode 3 I HATED Michael, and by the end I hated him so much that it kinda spoiled the whole show for me. I suppose he's supposed to be a dick and a loser, the whole point being that a robot is better than a useless human, but it went too far - the last episode was hard to watch because of how useless he was.

I felt exactly the same. I didn't find him funny, just irritating and a complete distraction from what was otherwise a funny and touching series.

I don't; but I will get it now - thank you very much!

Diane and Sarah were in Frayed together too

I loved that show and it was left in such a cliff hanger.

Really enjoying this one though. I’ve watched the first episode a couple of times and have laughed out loud. Looking forward to watching the rest.

Watched all six episodes. It's really enjoyable.

murasaki · 20/07/2026 13:11

We binged it too. It was both sweet and hilarious. Gave me detectorists vibe that way. I too hope there's another series.

I did say to DP that if Ann can take herself back to her docking station to charge why can't the bloody roomba.

REP22 · 20/07/2026 14:54

Took a chance on this on an idle Sunday afternoon yesterday; I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Very well acted (David Hargreaves and Kathryn Hunter (Mrs. Figg!!) especially enjoyable). I did not expect to enjoy this (not a fan of Cunk, really), but it was touching and inventive. Renee is atrocious (but well-acted). Got one more episode to go - I hope there is a second series.

Linda did get told she was doing well at Rumba.

Sad it was only 6 episodes
