Just watched 20 minutes of episode 1

Love it.

I came across it on iplayer this afternoon, hadn't heard anything about it beforehand. Saw it was Sue Johnstone and Diane Morgan and I love them both, but wasn't expecting much from the premise.

I was so wrong, and I'm so glad! It's brilliant.

I want a robot that reads my mind and does things for me without being asked.

Not a Diane Morgan fan, but I watched it for Andrea Valls who I love on Instagram. Anyway three episodes later I’m hooked, it’s absolutely brilliant.

Very happy 😄 nice enjoyable series so far.

Saw the credits and had to rewind it to see Rylan again as I missed him first time round as I did know it had started !!

Sue Johnstone and Diane Morgan were in The Cockfields together.

I can imagine they had such a laugh filming this series .

The nurse in the hospital is also the nail technician in Mandy.
Watched the show, had me laughing out loud a few times. Will definitely watch the rest!

It's not my favourite Diane Morgan thing she's done 😔

I loved the cameos. Rylan etc.
Really want to know who the fortune teller was.

We love Diane Morgan so had been looking forward to watching it.

Definitely some serious and sad parts, first half I did find a bit difficult to watch thinking of grandparents who had lost their independence but there were some bits that made me smile and bits that made us laugh out loud. Sue!sue!Sue and reference to Dead Dave. We enjoyed it and are going to try not to binge watch (so far so good as 1 episode in) Looking forward to watching episode 2 today.

Diane Morgan has not let us down 😀

edited to add - we are still waiting on the Mandy Christmas special 2025 though. Maybe this Christmas?

Linda planting the David rose bush was so poignant, esp when her son was too preoccupied to help.

I did like how everyone said the same things to Sue apart from her friend who actually knew what she was really like! I loved how the robot delivery lady emphasized that ‘ you can’t have sex with this make’
Only thing I cringed at was using the word s**t , that was unnecessary and I assume we won’t meet the Michael’s partner.

I loved the Cockfields! Looking forward to watching this tonight.

When Victoria wood was around she used a lot of the same actors and it seems a lot of comedy shows are going the same way. You tend to see the same people in things now.
Looking forwards to the other ones.

It’s the same basic premise as the film Robot and Frank, which I loved and which leaves me unsure about giving it a try.

I thought it would be dire, but it was surprisingly good. Only seen episode one though..
At least it was set a bit in the future and not in the 70s ! ( I can imagine that actual robots will start to appear in the next few years)
On a more serious level , it’ll take jobs away from people , which is more of a worry and they won’t be planting roses. Although I wouldn’t mind one to do my garden , or the digging at least!

I love the "Mandy" clip of "poison darts for pleasure and profit" and can watch it over and over.

We haven't watched this yet, but will give it a go. It's great to see different stuff.

Enjoying it hugely. Diane Morgan and Sue Johnston are a great combination. I may watch it all this weekend - love on demand TV!

Oh I did wonder about that! But in the pilot of Mandy there’s a completely different nail technician.

I watched the first episode, not sure if it was my thing but I really liked it.

I haven't watched it, saw the ads and it looked like a cringe fest. I may give it a go now.

I mostly loved it, but by about episode 3 I HATED Michael, and by the end I hated him so much that it kinda spoiled the whole show for me. I suppose he's supposed to be a dick and a loser, the whole point being that a robot is better than a useless human, but it went too far - the last episode was hard to watch because of how useless he was.

Just genius. Properly thoughtful and screamingly funny.
