starts next week sun 14 June
on sun mon tue and same following week so 6 parts

On the surface, JESS is the ultimate yummy Mummy, she has a loving husband , adorable kids and a tight net group of friends all living in posh London

But when JESS’s baby is rushed to A&E things quickly unravel

one of the friendship group Liz is a medic who treats a little girl and she suspicious how she got the injury

LIZ has got to follow protocol as a doctor but she doesn’t realise how quickly it spirals and there is no going back

To make things harder, LIZ and JESS are not that good friends

they’ve kind of fallen out of each other’s lives

jess is played by Diane Kruger and Liz by our fav JJ - Jo Joyner

Agree, definitely a better C5 drama. Jess leaving the children alone, and "endangering", them was originally stated by police as one of the reasons for referring to CPS, I thought. Why did Jess make up the story of Betsey hitting her head on the fridge? Why not just say she hadn't seen anything happen. As she'd left them alone did she think Frankie had done something and was protecting him? She must have wondered how the injury happened if she knew she hadn't done it? I suppose it was a plot devise to stop the police from naturally assuming the incident had happened when Jess had left them alone?

Yes. I too wondered why she didn't just say from the get go that she had popped out and that's why she didn't know what happened.

But I think she was so ashamed of what she'd done that she couldn't even admit it to herself, let alone anyone else - that she had actually walked out and left them alone for a short while.

Plus she prob thought she was covering for her son

But then surely she would try and talk to him about it?

purpleme12 · 27/06/2026 13:04

She didn't get a chance to did she?

I thought she wasn't allowed to be alone with her children or child after Betsy got taken into hospital. And obviously she wasn't going to talk to him about it when someone else was there as then someone would know she'd left them by themselves.

And then factor in that the boy probably wouldn't admit it cos he'd been threatened by that man...

I suppose. There was a bit of time after she was taken into hospital before the court order started. But yes, there wasn't a lot of opportunity.

That man Rob was the biggest waste of space ever. Can't believe Mel was putting up with him for so long!

Just finished this. Felt it dragged on a bit could have just been 5 eps. Was disappointed with the ending. Hated the woman who played the lawyer

I've belatedly started watching this. I think Chizzy Akudolu sounds identical to Roisin Conaty in her voice and accent.

I've watched 2 episodes and I think it's good so far

Finished it now. I thought it was one of the better ones of this type of series.
Are there any on at the moment or is there a Summer lull until the good telly comes on in the Autumn?

I hope TV improves soon, I have nothing left to watch!
The Gentlemen comes back to Netflix on 3rd Sept.
