starts next week sun 14 June
on sun mon tue and same following week so 6 parts

On the surface, JESS is the ultimate yummy Mummy, she has a loving husband , adorable kids and a tight net group of friends all living in posh London

But when JESS’s baby is rushed to A&E things quickly unravel

one of the friendship group Liz is a medic who treats a little girl and she suspicious how she got the injury

LIZ has got to follow protocol as a doctor but she doesn’t realise how quickly it spirals and there is no going back

To make things harder, LIZ and JESS are not that good friends

they’ve kind of fallen out of each other’s lives

jess is played by Diane Kruger and Liz by our fav JJ - Jo Joyner

Liz's husband going over to Ed at the football to ostensibly 'calm' him just aggravated the situation

If he hadn't gone over, there wouldn't have been anything bad happen

I thought it said they just knew each other from uni?
I don't remember it saying they had a fling?

im not going to bet the farm on it, but going by their behaviour towards each other

Wingedharpy · 17/06/2026 18:06

I think it's the son too who's responsible for the baby's injury.

Problem is, I can't make my mind up which one.

Whichever one it is, I think the other son knows/possibly witnessed it but has decided to keep it a secret for whatever reason (maybe threatened with some of the same treatment if secret disclosed?).

Probability would suggest the older son was the "assailant", younger son saw it but older brother threatened to duff him up if he told.

But, it could be younger son, possibly an accidental injury, but older brother encouraged him not to tell in case the birthday party was cancelled.

ilovebrie8 · 17/06/2026 18:08

Yeah I agree @Wingedharpy it’s one or the other of them.

I agree. They declared they knew each other at the ante natal class. It was a pretty big hint it was a fling but hardly going to admit to spouses that they snagged.

I might actually watch this C5 drama to its conclusion, lol.

Me too.
I also think she's covering up for one of the sons as well.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/06/2026 19:59

Def the older one. He looked shifty in e1 when dad said they were in hosp

@Kipperandarthur

yep, I thought covering for the youngest son first off. But having read above comments, it might be the older one...

I'm not sure that she "knows" it's a son who is responsible.
I've a feeling that Dad thinks it must have been Mum and Mum thinks it must have been Dad.

Well something's going on with them.

Also, what was that about the cupboard with the knives and kettle in it? A point was made of drawing attention to it, so it figures somewhere 🤔

purpleme12 · 17/06/2026 20:08

It's significant

Is it to do with ultra cautious parent(s) - "if we lock everything up that the kids could injure themselves with, we won't need to have eyes in the back of our heads" or, are the kids small psychopaths who would practice their torture techniques if they had access to hot/electrical/sharp things?

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/06/2026 20:28

I think she has dreadful pnd

she didn’t want another baby. Then gets preg. She’s a demanding baby

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 17/06/2026 20:30

She's definitely got pnd

Fernie6491 · 18/06/2026 20:06

I chuckled at the one who said the kids had wandered out into the pitch-black, I've never seen so many lights, lighting up a whole avenue of trees, and lights strung all around the garden and house.
You could have spotted the children from outer space!

Yes though I don't think a doctor wouod tell her own dh all about it, patient confidentiality and all that and then attend the family party.

I'll watch if to see what happens but I mean the loo incident was odd and it's gone downhill from there.

Yes, the challenges of professional confidentiality are most difficult when you know the person, and they're part of your social circle. So you know things about them that others don't, because of your professional role.

That's when it's really important not to tell your husband, and not to tell everyone at a children's birthday party! 😆

StellaAndCrow · 19/06/2026 09:55

Gloriia · 15/06/2026 14:57

We need Jill HP in one of her many coats to add to the tension.

I noticed Patrick Maladi at the ante natal class, he's a fairly well known actor seems odd to have such a small part. He didn't seem to be at the kids party so he's either struggling for acting work or he'll feature more, maybe Jess had a fling or something.

Oh yes, he was that consultant obstetrician in Bodies - that's why I assumed he was a doctor in this! He's fooled me by being a lawyer instead!

Offherrockingchair · 19/06/2026 12:59

I don’t know why they all hate the Dr for reporting. If it hadn’t been her, it would have been someone else! A baby can’t fracture its own skull! Very odd reactions from the friends - hating the Dr rather than thinking one of the parents could have done something?!

Exactly and tbh she'd have got her senior to make the call due to being friends.
The poor dc had a fractured skull and brain bleed! You'd think she'd rang ss for a minor injury.

I started watching it at the weekend and am now three episodes in. I didn't recognise Patrick Baladi at first. He looks so much older. Pre The Office I remember watching him in a wartime series where he was very dashing.
In the first episode one of the women complains to her husband that he came back really late & didn't text her. He replied that she would have been annoyed at him disturbing her. Who doesn't use Do not Disturb settings overnight nowadays?
