New 8 part drama for a Saturday night

The drama stars Jessica Raine (The Devil's Hour, Patrick Melrose), Damien Molony (Bergerac, Brassic), Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor, Still Up), Nicholas Pinnock (For Life, The Book of Clarence), Leila Farzard (Kaos, I Hate Suzie) and Hugh Skinner (Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!, Fleabag).

Written and created by Catherine Shepherd (‘Sally4Ever', ‘The Shrink Next Door'), ‘Two Weeks in August' follows the story of a woman who goes on holiday with her family and friends to rediscover joy in her life.

But, here in paradise, what starts with an illicit kiss quickly turns the dream vacation into a nightmare

The synopsis continues: "Zoe begins to act on her deepest desires and the holiday she hoped for becomes a reckoning for a group of adults who refuse to grow up.

old wounds are re-opened, sending the group in a chaotic spiral that soon begins to snowball, threatening to upend each of their lives in unexpected

When they discover they are trapped on the island, and become faced with real life-or-death situations, the group soon turn on each other to find out who is to blame.

Is Zoe responsible for the drama and destruction around her or, as heaven turns to hell, are bigger forces at play?

We are in Greece after all, the land of the ancient Gods…

Leading star Jessica said "the big question of the series is how the audience is going to respond to a character like Zoe".

"The decisions she makes to get what she wants, and the consequences because of that," continued the actress.

"The idea of a woman deciding not to sacrifice everything, of choosing to put herself first, unfortunately still feels revolutionary.

I think every woman feels that, and that’s what I think will appeal.

Can’t do the links ( sorry ) but there is a spoilers thread on Telly addicts. If anyone wants to come over.
No spoilers on here for the tv pace.

This does nail holidays with friends (well, really the only one I’ve ever done where I ended up sleeping on the sofa near the toilet and hearing all my friends poo through the paper thin door).

I am on ep 3 but have turned captions on and watching at 1.2x speed.

dapsnotplimsolls · 30/05/2026 00:31

I've just watched episode 2. I really wanted her to throw that rock at his head 😁

I'm also annoyed at the excellent phone reception!

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/05/2026 09:14

E3 tonight

Absolutely dreadful. I binged it and wish I hadn't bothered.

They're a funny combination of friends

I think that’s what happens with a lot of groups. You meet at uni, all grow in different directions, all try and stay in touch, but you’re all changing.

Absolutely dreadful. I binged it and wish I hadn't bothered.

I'm worried this is how I will feel when I'm done. 2 more episodes to go!

BlossomBlossomBlossom · 30/05/2026 10:56

It’s so important to binge all 8 episodes before you can be certain you hate a show! 😂😂

(I have the same trouble …)

suburburban · 30/05/2026 14:00

I’m enjoying it

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/05/2026 21:49

Absolutely dreadful. I binged it and wish I hadn't bothered.

The only thing I liked about it was that I binged watched it in a heatwave so could identify with the oppressive heat.

I don’t want to read all this thread in case of spoilers as I’m only on ep 2 but what happened to his leg? Did he deliberately get into a car crash whilst depressed in the hope of killing himself? It wasn’t made clear when he was explaining his deep depression to the group?

purpleme12 · 31/05/2026 07:47

He deliberately crashed the car as wanted to kill himself yes

There's no spoilers on here. This isn't the spoiler thread

SecretLocker · 31/05/2026 09:30

I binged this over 2 days, absolutely loved it.
I thought the acting was superb and subtle, the dialogue felt natural.
Can highly recommend.

deeahgwitch · 31/05/2026 10:12

So far I have watched 3 episodes.
It’s a bit slow for me and you do have to suspend disbelief re the au pair and the children being left for long periods alone.
Jessica Raine is a very good actress. She doesn’t have to say anything, her face conveys it all.

MrsMariaReynolds · 31/05/2026 10:19

I am enjoying this so far (I have a very low bar these days 😁) but it seems to be another series featuring a group of friends where you wonder why they were ever friends in the first place. Nobody seems particularly fond of each other at all. No way would I ever spend that kind of £££ or time on a holiday with people I only sorta get along with.

Yes but some people are on ep 3 which is where I think it is on TV? I’m a little behind I think 🤔 do we know yet why his leg was damaged couldn’t work that bit out?

purpleme12 · 31/05/2026 11:56

@Empress13 I answered your post a few minutes after you asked it, up thread.

It was revealed in episode 1. He deliberately crashed the car yes because he wanted to kill himself

I think the villa was supposed to induce stress in the viewers. The heat, the inconvenience of being in the middle of nowhere, the useless nanny and weird neighbours. It's not comfortable viewing.

I've watched it all thinking there was going to be some point to it and there isn't. It's literally some people on a badly planned holiday.

This. It’s all done on purpose - our stress was mounting the minute they arrived! It’s very well done and accurate.

dapsnotplimsolls · 31/05/2026 17:09

I've just finished episode 3 - enjoying it. Has Zoe been there before? When she and Dickhead were on the moped and saw a woman and a girl, I wondered if that was Zoe and her Mum, but years ago.

purpleme12 · 31/05/2026 17:40

No i don't think it's her and her mum and I don't think she's been there before
All the people she keeps seeing are to do with Greek mythology I'm pretty sure
But I'm sure we'll find out more in future episodes
