New 8 part drama for a Saturday night

The drama stars Jessica Raine (The Devil's Hour, Patrick Melrose), Damien Molony (Bergerac, Brassic), Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor, Still Up), Nicholas Pinnock (For Life, The Book of Clarence), Leila Farzard (Kaos, I Hate Suzie) and Hugh Skinner (Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!, Fleabag).

Written and created by Catherine Shepherd (‘Sally4Ever', ‘The Shrink Next Door'), ‘Two Weeks in August' follows the story of a woman who goes on holiday with her family and friends to rediscover joy in her life.

But, here in paradise, what starts with an illicit kiss quickly turns the dream vacation into a nightmare

The synopsis continues: "Zoe begins to act on her deepest desires and the holiday she hoped for becomes a reckoning for a group of adults who refuse to grow up.

old wounds are re-opened, sending the group in a chaotic spiral that soon begins to snowball, threatening to upend each of their lives in unexpected

When they discover they are trapped on the island, and become faced with real life-or-death situations, the group soon turn on each other to find out who is to blame.

Is Zoe responsible for the drama and destruction around her or, as heaven turns to hell, are bigger forces at play?

We are in Greece after all, the land of the ancient Gods…

Leading star Jessica said "the big question of the series is how the audience is going to respond to a character like Zoe".

"The decisions she makes to get what she wants, and the consequences because of that," continued the actress.

"The idea of a woman deciding not to sacrifice everything, of choosing to put herself first, unfortunately still feels revolutionary.

I think every woman feels that, and that’s what I think will appeal.

Ha ha ha He was ok tbh

so I’ve seen it all now.

Are you going to come over on the other thread with the Spoilers to tell us what you think?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/06/2026 15:54

Seen e7

i wouldnt have given my watch. I would have let them go to custody etx

I know! I thought WTF were they all thinking, protecting those piss-takers. I’d have washed my hands of all three of them.

purpleme12 · 29/06/2026 08:11

This is so stupid

As if you'd just let someone take your watch in that situation!

deeahgwitch · 29/06/2026 08:18

So that’s it. That’s the ending.
I’m not sure it was worth 6 hours of my life watching it.

Shellingbynight · 29/06/2026 08:20

I watched this TV pace, mainly because I couldn’t take more than one episode at a time!

I thought it was beautifully filmed, and well acted. They were all annoying and spoilt but it was very entertaining.

But so many daft things. It’s a billion degrees but they all run round in the midday sun and nobody gets heatstroke. Zoe was out the entire day and seemed to survive on a glass of water.

Nat’s house had no water yet they happily stayed there (no one needed to use the toilet?)

Nat decides to stay and live on the island without any reference to formalities.

Where were they all rowing to in those tiny boats?? Did any of them know about the super yacht being out there (and was it even still there or had they supposedly sailed off - as if they would know how).

Everyone standing four feet away from a conflagration and having lengthy arguments, it felt like EastEnders😆

But it was fun.

BlossomBlossomBlossom · 29/06/2026 08:24

Perhaps you need to watch the final episode again, @Shellingbynight?

Shellingbynight · 29/06/2026 08:26

God no I am definitely not doing that 😆

Shellingbynight · 29/06/2026 08:52

I've just read the reelmockery link from @Blondeshavemorefun and I don't seem to have missed anything in the final episode. The two blokes were on the superyacht (but only Nat knew that), the others were in tiny boats rowing to 'safety' - where? Rowing a boat is bloody hard work. Nat kayaked back to the island which was on fire. None of it made any sense. I don't know why I expected it to really😆

Totally agree. Was so disappointed with this series.

Can recommend the other one set on the island of Capri with police dad and teenage daughter whose name escapes me!

Meredusoleil · 29/06/2026 09:56

It's called A taste for murder and is on ITVX.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/06/2026 12:28

I did enjoy and liked the fact still getting divorced and he rowed off pmsl

Solomon will spend more time with his family

gay blokes back together

hope the 15 daughter didn’t shag the old bearded man as her first

hope the 15 daughter didn’t shag the old bearded man as her first

That was so random. He was horrible and weird. I really hope not.

I don't think Solomon will spend more time with his family though. He will be busy filming and will shag his leading lady! I think Jess knew and accepted that and just liked the lifestyle - and she'll probably be shagging someonelse too!

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2026 13:51

Shelling , it was like EE sometimes wasn’t it. The arguing and the fights ! lol

Shellingbynight · 29/06/2026 14:49

80s all that standing around arguing next to the raging fire reminded me of Stacey and Martin just before he got crushed by a falling beam😆

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2026 15:26

Shelling! Yes! They didn’t seem to have any real sense of urgency ( like that time with Stacey , lol)
I wonder if Zoe will go it alone now ?

He said he might not take the job

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 29/06/2026 19:39

He said that to Zoe as he thought he still had a chance with her, but she told him to take the job. With no Zoe he had no reason to turn it down. I

I've just watched it all and honestly the last episode just made me think what the fuck

I agree with PP above that many things didn't seem to have sense as well in the last episode

There were very few characters with redeeming features

And so many people sure the island is dangerous from the fire but so many people staying on the island without a care in the world....

I'm a bit bewildered by the conclusion

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2026 22:09

Each episode was like its own short film. I kept expecting someone to drown or get food poisoning or even die, but it just kept on twisting and turning didn’t it! The ones staying behind didn’t seem bothered that the island was alight. Their reactions to things was strange. I did enjoy it though !

purpleme12 · 29/06/2026 22:53

It's all been on Tele

I wasn't sure if it was just up to no, 7 - and people didn't want to say too much!
