What are your thoughts on Amandaland?
I really tried to like it. I really did.
but for me it just isn’t as good as motherland. I just don’t think the characters are distinctive enough to really stand out and identify with like in motherland. But I gave see on a few thread and fab groups that people like Amandaland and it’s just as good.

I enjoyed it, actually liked it better than Motherland in some ways. Julia really irritated me and I didn't warm to Liz either. If they could just bring Kevin into Amandaland then it'd be perfect!
I thought the Christmas special was poor though.

I think the kids are great in Amandaland - they were deliberately kept low key in Motherland, and still are, to a certain extent in Amandaland, but more rounded, as they’re older. Loved Anne losing her cool with them all as a maths tutor! And Amanda’s kids’ relationship with their Grandma has been successfully developed in this series. It’s different to Motherland, but just as good, imo.

I will definitely give the second series a go.

I think it is quite weak. The blokes in it are very boring. No chemistry or relate to any blokes I know. Everyone knows a husband like Julia’s or a Kevin but these blokes are bland. The Chefs wife is boring. Bring back Johannes.

Hate to say it but I agree with you. I quite like Abs as a character though.

I like this as it’s easy watching , Joanna lumley is brilliant and Lucy punch makes the ridiculous Amanda almost real ! She is very good. It is silly , but it’s fun to watch and I do hope that maybe her old boyfriend show up at some stage . I do like her eye rolling boss in the kitchen shop and Anne is also funny.
It’s just a bit of escapism.

I think its awful and I'm not going to finish the series. Characters are dreadful.
I detest Amanda, vile character, and fail to understand how anyone actually wants to be around her.

Anne I quite like but where are her kids? I thought Anne was gong to shine with her new found 'say it how it is' and her insta plants, but sadly, that was short lived.

The 2 dads, step dad and real dad is just weird.

Quite like Della and 'Abs', the mum of son who's dad lives below Amanda, thought she'd be the one to put Amanda in her place, but that doesn't seem to be happening either.

Motherland was brilliant.

Such Brave Girls is also brilliant.

I absolutely loved series 2. Did anyone notice Laurence Rickard was in it and co wrote it? (Robin off Ghosts). There were lots of LOL moments and I liked that Abs was how a normal person would react to Amanda. Joanna Lumley had some brilliant lines and the cast have all bedded in. One complaint- not enough Della. I love how irritated she can look.

I only recognised Gary the builder (from Motherland).

Yes! I was so chuffed to see Garry back! (It's sexier because it's spelt with 2 Rs, according to Julia)

I wouldn’t mind seeing more of her boss ( or co lab man !) as he is fit!! He makes me laugh.
She does get away with murder doesn’t she. Most people would sack her off, but she manages to make it the other people’s problem. It’s a gift ! Lol

I’m binge watching it. Really funny. I loved the second episode about Ann going viral on instagram 😂

Only Amanda could see it as not the usual boss / employee set up lol

It’s an easy watch, but I miss Kevin and Julia and the old crew as well.

I'm really enjoying it - perhaps because I know a few 'Amandas' in real life so it feels quite relatable

I think if you separate in your head as 2 separate things, it’s funny, well written and I think very relatable
