What are your thoughts on Amandaland?
I really tried to like it. I really did.
but for me it just isn’t as good as motherland. I just don’t think the characters are distinctive enough to really stand out and identify with like in motherland. But I gave see on a few thread and fab groups that people like Amandaland and it’s just as good.

Mal was in ‘ witless’ with Russell Howard’s sister and he was great. He is lush.

I didn't expect to like it as much as Motherland but I really do. The new characters took a bit of getting used to, but they're a good fit I think. Anne is still my favourite, though she's so funny .

I liked it all. The one with the big house made me laugh.
Her mother is awful, but oddly fun as well. In a bad way !

I really enjoyed series 2, perhaps more than series 1. I don’t like Della so worked out well for me that she was hardly in it!
I thought the Christmas special was pants though.
Loved Ann becoming the influencer who had very quickly outperformed senuous entirely organically and Amanda’s outrage that she had been sent gin as a PR gift.
Also liked Mal’s ex wife who was the only person who seemed comfortable challenging Amanda to her face.

I totally agree with you except that I love Della. Nobody can do irritation like Siobhan McSweeney. Among other things I love her for the scene in series 1, where she takes the prosecco from her 14 yr old and suggests a light red or robust white to go with the pork.

I’m really enjoying the second series, prefer it to the first (I hated Johannes though). It’s made me laugh out loud quite a lot.

I just finished series 2. I loved it. It’s a fantastic cast and very well written. Having been through the teenage years three times, I found some of the storylines very relatable.

Yes ! When Georgie threw the shoes off the boat, I laughed so loud, the dog jumped out of his chair! Amanda was a lot nicer about that than I would have been!

I did love Amanda saying ‘ love anything hand made ‘!
We didn’t see enough of her ‘ co lab ‘ ( boss )
He should have his own spin off series..

I was disappointed with the last episode seemed a bit of a mess. Like it was 2 episodes worth of material crammed into 1.

Overall I find it a more comfortable watch to Motherland. I prefer to see Amanda and her mum softening and having friends. Love Joanna Lumley.

Also loved the scene when Anne's son leaped out of the car to escape the sex talk 😁

I too would like to see more of Daniel, as well as Anne’s mammy. Just get rid of Ned and JJ.

I don’t think FI works as a character without Della.

I find Fi a bit awkward to watch. Stilted and not funny Not sure if it's the writing or the casting.

If I’m not mistaken, he was a stag in series 1 of Gavin & Stacey, and his character shagged one of Stacey’s hens at the wedding

Mal is gorgeous. I hope he doesn’t get together with Amanda though, she doesn’t deserve him!

Loved the series. Some of it is a bit too cringe but there were some proper laugh out loud moments that carried it. Anne’s reflection in the plant pot 😂

i enjoyed it, not as much as series 1 but still found it very funny and I like all the characters.
Has anyone watched there she goes? Took me ages to click that Georgie played Rosie in that.

Series 2 us better than series 1

Ann is my absolute favourite - love her - was wondering where all her other children were though

She was awful! Made it really hard to watch for me.

Anne isn’t a teacher, she’s just volunteering to help with careers week for the kids.

And Paul (Julia’s husband from Motherland) doesn’t interact with anyone until the last episode, that’s the point. He’s simply not there. There is a great compilation of every scene he’s in, hang on I’ll get it.

Yes he’s in Amandaland episode 4, he’s the builder Amanda takes to the cat lady’s house.
