Really enjoyed this . Very cosy and in the Metal Detectorist style, with the music.

FlowerFairyDaisy · 15/02/2026 20:02

Binged watched it yesterday. Brilliant. And I am really not a lover of fantasy but it works!

Loved the friendship with Kacie and the ‘Dunelm robes’ line!

Detectorists is my favourite comedy in recent years so I wondered if this would disappoint but it doesn’t.

Womaninhouse17 · 16/02/2026 07:08

@FindleBindle I did binge watch it and now feel very frustrated that I can't say what I thought of it for ages! Luckily, I'm now rewatching The Detectorists to keep me occupied until everyone else catches up.

GrinchoftheNorth · 16/02/2026 07:25

Binged it. Really loved this, not my usual kind of watch but found it heart warming and desperately want a friend or neighbour like Michael Sleep now

Pabbel · 16/02/2026 07:33

Brilliant series, hope they make more episodes, quirky and funny.

Anyone would think you didn't always write 'NO SPOILERS' in caps in the title!!!

I liked the way he tried to slam the door but it was on a slow closer 😂

I didn't notice this on my first watch!

LittleJustice · 16/02/2026 14:25

TheJustJoker · 12/02/2026 18:56

Yes same here. I’ve rewatched Detectorists so many time and each time I do I love it even more. The most perfect character driven comedy ever to grace our screens, so I had very high hopes for Small Prophets. Crook, Quigley etc etc. So I binged. And it just didn’t land with me. Don’t know why. So clearly-reading all the posts on here-its a me thing 😟.

I'm 3 in, thought I would love it. It's just OK. Not sure why and very disappointed. Will persist however in the hopes that I grow to love it.

I did. And I didn't post anything resembling a spoiler here.

You did. You said you binged it and gave your opinion of the whole thing. That's a (slight) spoiler, because it might influence what someone else thinks as they watch the remaining episodes.

TheHillsIsLonely · 16/02/2026 17:03

No spoilers from me! Halo

I binge-watched it and I loved it, so much so that I'm going to watch it again at TV pace for any little gems possibly missed the first time around. The exquisite characterisations, sets, music and the kindnesses in the story are marvellous.

Like the OP and others on her threads, I enjoy watching at TV pace like we all did back in the day. Sometimes I miss things though because of family responsibilities so have to watch a series on iPlayer. This time watching the three hours of Small Prophets helped me to get through a difficult day, so I hope Blondes will forgive me. 🤞

I binge watched it and have been sitting on my hands to stop myself giving my verdict, because I think doing so is a spoiler.

purpleme12 · 16/02/2026 17:15

I don't think it's wrong to say what you thought of the programme.
It's wrong to reference things that happen in future episodes though

I agree. Giving a general positive impression can be helpful. Sometimes I haven't taken to a series initially but know from other posters that it is worth persevering with.

I said I loved it. That in no way gave any hint of anything to come in the show.

We must have different ideas of spoilers. A broad general opinion isn't telling what happens.
