I loved the description of the special paint colour too.

I feel anything is a spoiler if it's happened beyond the week that has just aired. Doesn't matter if hasn't given anything away, it's the knowing something you didn't know before. For all we know, we could be watching a one off series with 6 episodes. So for me, I wouldn't say anything beyond this weeks episode, until the next one is shown and then the same again.

I watched House of Dynamite last night with dh (after we finished (sorry @Blondeshavemorefun ) Small Prophets, and I won't say anything on what I've seen). Dh has seen the film 4 times now, but he didn't say a word to all my questions, which was unheard of as he is spoiler king. There was even a bit where I thought something was going to happen, and it didn't, but he gave nothing away, so it didn't ruin any for me.

Apologies. I have asked for it to be deleted.

It surprised me when they showed the 'contains strong language' message. I remember seeing an interview with MC where he said he regretted the language in Detectorists as it cut out swathes of possible viewers.

That surprised me too. I saw that interview and the fact he said he regretted the swearing in Detectorists made me admire him even more.

Indigovelvet · 22/02/2026 16:44

Oh wow - this was brilliant! Just watched all 6 episodes. Quirky 😎

MrsLargeEmbodied · 23/02/2026 06:39

really enjoying this, watched 4 episodes in one sitting last night.

Detectorists is a work of genius. (A moment when one character says good morning to another is … just one of the greatest pieces of TV I’ve ever seen.)

I’d say Small Prophets is not quite that level. It’s maybe equal to ‘Mum’, or … maybe just below that. Yes, below. Mum was relentless cruelty and sadness; utterly brilliant! Not sure what else to compare it to …

I've been racking my brains as to which scene this is @Tocsin?

Really enjoyed that, M.C always takes a while to bed the characters in,
It's so nice to have something to look forward to

Tocsin · 23/02/2026 09:00

Discussing it here honestly would ruin the scene for anyone who hasn’t yet watched it …

E3 is tonight

Casey comes to Michael’s house to meet the profits and he’s shocked by what she sees

I think PP was referring to a scene in Detectorists

It's just a delight, isn't it? So many lovely little touches!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/02/2026 22:53

It’s brilliant and the fact I’m not watching and fiddling (phone before any Pervy comments) means it’s good.
