yah it’s back. The easy watching murders and guessing which of the usually 4 suspects did it

The 15th season of the beloved, sun-dappled detective show will start airing on 30th January 2026, with the first episode airing at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

We don't yet know much about what will take place in the new episodes, but we do know that Don Gilet will be back as DI Mervin Wilson (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-cast/), along with Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder as Officer Darlene Curtis, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Officer Sebastian Rose and Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey.

Meanwhile, we're expecting Don Warrington to return as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, after his future on the series was thrown into doubt all through last season. Esp after the Christmas episode

After he decided not to take his job back at the end of season 14, he was seen visiting the UK in the Christmas special.

Coming to realise how important his job and Saint Marie were to him, Patterson was seen calling the chief commissioner at the end of that episode, asking if his role was still vacant (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-selwyn-wants-job-back-newsupdate/) and whether he could return to it.

Meanwhile, season 15 is also likely to see Mervin getting to know the brother he never knew he had, after he managed to make contact with him briefly in the Christmas special.

I enjoyed the Don Warrington episode when he was in the UK. I enjoyed the Christmas meal, with Josie Lawrence coming to his rescue at the station. Although it wasn’t really a good move. Looking forward to his return to St Marie.

I might join in with this. I used to watch it years ago with the first two or three detectives, but I’ve only watched it occasionally since. Is there anything I need to know, I know Don Gilet is the ‘new’ detective…anything else?

I will miss Darlene. After the Christmas special DH and I went back to series 1 and rewatched them all - now on series 14 (!)

The first few are very good

Sad news! Darlene was great.

I liked the one where she was working at a clinic, and they tried to blame her for the death of a patient. The way she stood up to her employer was brilliant.

I’d completely missed the return of this. Its like tropical comfort food to get us through the dog end of Winter 😁

I really don’t care about the ludicrous plots full of holes - as with Midsomer its about tropical scenery, some decent guest stars and a puzzle to work out before the end of the episode. Preferably with a warming glass of red on a Friday night.

I like Don Gilet, will be sorry to see Darlene go.

Slightly off topic but re the Christmas special…. Did anyone else think it was rubbish and overly long, or is it just me?
