yah it’s back. The easy watching murders and guessing which of the usually 4 suspects did it

The 15th season of the beloved, sun-dappled detective show will start airing on 30th January 2026, with the first episode airing at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

We don't yet know much about what will take place in the new episodes, but we do know that Don Gilet will be back as DI Mervin Wilson (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-cast/), along with Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder as Officer Darlene Curtis, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Officer Sebastian Rose and Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey.

Meanwhile, we're expecting Don Warrington to return as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, after his future on the series was thrown into doubt all through last season. Esp after the Christmas episode

After he decided not to take his job back at the end of season 14, he was seen visiting the UK in the Christmas special.

Coming to realise how important his job and Saint Marie were to him, Patterson was seen calling the chief commissioner at the end of that episode, asking if his role was still vacant (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-selwyn-wants-job-back-newsupdate/) and whether he could return to it.

Meanwhile, season 15 is also likely to see Mervin getting to know the brother he never knew he had, after he managed to make contact with him briefly in the Christmas special.

Just watched last night episode, good start I thought. Selwyn is integral, I hope he stays.

But come on, we could all see that his brother was going to loot Mervin’s house, couldn’t we 🙄

It is all very predictable but a nice comfort watch (the two spin off are too insufferable!!). The Xmas special was awful though (amazing how easy it is to smuggle a gun into the country🙄)

I enjoyed the episode and like the new sergeant. I wonder if we will ever see her put the bike helmet on though

@Bruisername To be fair, the ‘Beyond Paradise’ Christmas special was one of the best things on tv this Christmas - a lovely bit of storytelling.

Not much competition though!

I found it saccharine and predictable tbh!!

DS and I watch DiP together, manage BP but sometimes skip bits and the Oz one we have tried but have struggled and not sure we will bother if there is another series

Especially comedian Phil Wang as Seb the snowman!

I thought last night's episode had a lot more energy. The new cop Mattie was a big part of that - but even Selwyn seemed re-energized after his trip to the UK - dashing up the stairs and kicking down the door!

Last year the writers seem to get in a bit of a rut of grumpy Mervin/Selwyn and Darlene/Naomi/Catherine's roles mostly revolving around scowling and drive-by scoldings for Mervin

That’s so sad. I just watched it on iplayer and had to look her up afterwards to see who she was:what happened.

The actor who plays Solomon seems a serious chap who does a lot of theatre work

Great photos @GwendolineFairfax8. I know someone that visited recently and they loved it, said it was the highlight of their holiday and a real tourist destination because of the show.

I think Solomon will come good by the end of the series.

Selwyn has definitely mellowed over the years and seems to have genuine affection for the police team which he never really used to show. JP mellowed him I think as he was very fond of him.

@GwendolineFairfax8 Looks amazing! DH and I are planning to go next winter possibly for our 25th wedding anniversary mainly as we love DiP - would you recommend Guadeloupe as well as the tour?

I’m really sorry to burst any bubbles but I wouldn’t recommend staying there. The island overall is not as pretty as it looks on the programme. We went on a TUI Cruise from Barbados - with a junior suite and large balcony and it was heavenly but we were happy to only be at each place for the day.

Cruise included Tobago, The Grenadines, St Lucia etc and we had a lovely junior suite with a large balcony.

Tui arranged all the tours although you can go it alone if you are more adventurous.

We loved it but wouldn’t do it again - although we would return to stay in Barbados (West Coast - The Sandpiper) in a heartbeat.

Wasn't keen on last night's episode. Lots of new people but bloody Catherine is still there with her arm jewellery!

Going against the popular opinion, but I haven't warmed to the new inspector and it looks like his dodgy brother will be staying around.

Thank you for the thread. But I was a bit bored by it. Was typical that the brother would be dodgy. Fully expected Dave Coaches to be the killer 😂
