What gets me is that all of that happened before Claudia chose the traitors, so why did everyone use it as a reason to accuse him of being one?

Yes - and it nicely highlights another lesson for the faithful. Just because you observe something that you think is dodgy, then even if it so proves that stilll doesn't mean that the person is a traitor.

I said something about this in the previous thread.
Add Ellie being a psychologist and so they are all basically working.

I think this makes it more forced and less fun!

So far Ellie has voted for Judy, Hugo, and Reece. So she's more or less following the crowd.

Also remember that "psychologist" covers a lot of things. A large number of chartered psychologists do research or work in industry rather than delving into the behaviour of individual the people in front of them. A psychologist friend of mine tells this story from a plane trip:

Seat neighbour: "So what do you do?"
Friend: "I'm a psychologist"
SN: "Ooh, how interesting. Can you tell what I'm thinking right now?"
F: "Yes. You are thinking the wrong way about psychologists"

One mystery I don’t understand is why the hell some of them went out in the freezing, rainy weather without putting a coat on!

It's Scotland. Chances are it was warm and sunny 5 minutes earlier.😂

I know this has been discussed a million times before but it doesn't matter if they get a traitor, a new one will be picked straight away. So better to vote off people you don't like or people who might vote for you.
Adding money might focus them a bit more.

I wonder if this is why they introduced the ST and the possible familial relationships - it gives something for people to be intrigued about until the nitty-gritty comes in towards the end.

But some of them might want to be picked as a traitor...

ZappyDays · 08/01/2026 16:23

Can I join please? I’m not surprised by the secret traitor, wish it had been someone more under the radar and not so obvious. I’m not warming to Rachel at all so I hope people start looking at her. I have no idea how Stephen has lasted this long, he is bright red and sweaty and acting so guilty! He slipped up massively at the round table in yesterday’s episode. I’d like to think if I were a faithful I’d have noticed that and also would have been questioning why he was hanging around the family tree watching out for who was the last person to look at it before the end of the night. I predict the traitors at the end won’t be any of those originally picked.

ClaudiaWeveAllHadChildcareDaysLikeThat · 08/01/2026 16:27

I watched episode 3 of Traitors Uncloaked with Charlotte (2025 series 3 faithful turned traitor), Cat (celeb traitors) and Hugo and Ben from this year. I don’t usually enjoy Uncloaked but really liked this one. Hugo said he was thinking more being on a stage, than in a court room, which I think describes his in game persona well. Rachel is more hunger games 🤣. Will miss Hugo as a Traitor.

just watched the first episode of this year’s traitors, now knowing Fiona is the ST … when they’re in the boats and she goes “oooh I thought we were saving them if we put it in their grave” and someone correct her (I think Amanda?) and Fiona says “oooh”. I can’t remember what my reaction was, but we did believe her? Looks so hammy now!

mumofoneAloneandwell · 08/01/2026 16:29

I’ve been doing some thinking 😂

I think that the contestants are told to ignore certain things by producers, that’s the only way that Stephen is still in. he looks visibly guilty.

I think that the breakfast isn’t filmed repeatedly, the contestants are just told to ignore the order that people come in. The clip where Fiona says ‘hello you two’ to a group of four, was edited that way, to give the appearance that they film and refilm the entrances to breakfast, when they actually don’t.

I think its maybe more staged than it seems, and that the contestants have connections to the tv world, like they do in love island.

lettingthedaysgoby · 08/01/2026 16:38

LittleBitofBread · 08/01/2026 15:13

I can't see that happening unless Claudia tells them when Fiona finally gets banished.
Yes, that's kind of what I was imagining. If she does get banished and doesn't end up winning!

Well, Fiona will say "I am and have always been a... Traitor" and no-one would be the wiser (except the actual Traitors, who wouldn't be able to say anything). Although I bet she hams it up and tells then herself in her departure speech.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 08/01/2026 16:46

The levels of paranoia and over-analysis are through the roof! It's all a bit ridiculous. Reece realised he hadn't a prayer of Fiona getting him out of the cage so thought it best to help others. Yet that was interpreted as him being a traitor. Bonkers. I think Rachel may have met her match in Fiona and it'll be interesting to see how their relationship plays out. As for Stephen, well he'll be going soon. He's all over the place and far too easily swayed by Rachel. He also said something at the round table last night that was a slip of the tongue, but I'm hoping someone picked up on.

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 08/01/2026 17:01

Why has nobody asked Stephen how he knew who was the last person to be looking at the family tree picture before they all left for the night? There were plenty of other things for Faithfuls to be thinking about, so if he were a Faithful, why would he not only notice, but also remember the exact timing of something as trivial as that?

CaveMum · 08/01/2026 17:13

I maintain that the second envelopes are to reveal the secret connections. We got to see Netty open hers as she was in the room with Judy at the time, what they didn’t show us was if there was more on the sheet of paper.

There was no point in showing us Ben and Hugo reacting to Judy/Roxy because we (the viewer) already knew about it, and they couldn’t do the Ross/Ellie connection because we hadn’t found out yet. Ross had no one to reveal his secret to so there would be no reaction and, again, the viewer has already moved on from Judy/Roxy so we didn’t need his reaction to that.

As there are usually 3 folds in the sheet of paper, I’m guessing there’s at least one more relationship to reveal.

I suspect we’ll get a final montage on Uncloaked of everyone reacting to the secret relationships towards the end of the series.

TrickySparkles · 08/01/2026 17:14

I’m enjoying it all but feel like none of the reveals are very surprising this year. I’m thinking back to that amazing “..but Ross is..” moment and I think I was genuinely surprised. Perhaps I wasn’t reading threads or checking headlines as much that season. I don’t feel I am this season either really eg I’m not purposefully looking for any clues/extra info “out there” I’m just going to my usual paper sites and catching headlines that I feel are spoiling surprises.

So the whole “traitor fans find picture of Ellie and Ross from years ago” type headlines (can say on here now as now as been revealed in the show). Then there was another which I won’t mention as seems spoilery to me. Of course the edit was making it super obvious also. Everytime Ross was mentioned or talked it would snap to a close up of Ellie. They’d have been as well giving her a neon sign to hang around her neck “I’m Ross’s girlfriend”.

Then similarly the ST reveal felt a bit flat (and rather rushed!) as the edit was making it so obvious it was Fiona (to the point she was being ruled out as it would be too obvious for them to have her as ST given the edit they were showing us). Did the producers not think we’d pick up on the clues? Or was there so much talk and speculation everywhere that it felt a bit flat?

Then all the speculation on relationships. Yes I like to speculate and I’m enjoying these threads but a part of me also thinks it’s spoiling what might have be a shock reveal later as there will have been a small chance of whatever relationship is revealed existing in my mind already so not a real shock (hope that makes sense!!)

not complaining about any chat here it’s all in rules and not spoilery but some of the stuff out there def is which is a shame. I’m not sure how they can prevent other than having absolutely no tied/related people on the show. I think they’ll do this next year but we’ll all be tied up in speculations about relationships after this season (so maybe the producers are just playing a very very long game to trick us for season 5 🤣).

TrickySparkles · 08/01/2026 17:16

Really good point re Stephen. Why would he pay attention to that as it was insignificant as far as faithful were concerned. I hope someone picks up in this in the castle. I think that’s why Reece has t mentioned Rachel and Stephen / it wasn’t a significant or strange event for him (we cns see it in the edit but there are there for hours with lots more happening around them).

Choux · 08/01/2026 17:17

ChinFluff46 · 08/01/2026 15:05

Not sure if it's been mentioned - a reason Reece kept quiet was him and Amanda had that chat about not mentioning Stephen was a traitor. They maybe need more conviction from the rest of the group before they take him down.

Not sure what more evidence they need 🤣

Well remembered as I had forgotten about that. But I think Stephen’s time is coming possibly as soon as tonight. Maz is going to analyse why Stephen is pinning being a traitor on him. If Jessie joins in plus Amanda and Reece the momentum to get Stephen banished could get the herd to follow.

Sandysandal · 08/01/2026 17:18

What I find interesting is people thinking they are being framed / set up / targeted when actually they’ve never been mentioned and no one is thinking about them at all. If Ross had stopped going on about how he was being set up he’d have been fine, they’d forgotten about Betty last night (not that that meant he was a traitor anyway). Rachel only did her savage move because he gave her the opportunity.
There is one interchangeable young man who doesn’t seem to have done anything at all - he isn’t Reece or the dangly earring one or the hyperactive one or the one with a very short neck. I only noticed him for the first time last night, he was wearing a dingy knitted jumper. I guess he will feature a bit more later.

butimamonstersaidthemonster · 08/01/2026 17:19

I don’t think they are told to ignore things it’s just that they see so much more than we are shown. Basically 12hrs condensed into less than an hour. And the edit can make something insignificant seem more significant by the way it’s framed, close up of different peoples reactions, camera room edits etc.

ChinFluff46 · 08/01/2026 17:20

I know we don't universally like this theory, but if everyone is connected to someone;

Who is Netty connected to? The production team had no knowledge apparently.

If Hugo was connected to someone, why was this not revealed? It seems wierd if it came up much later 🤣.

It also seems wierd for some to be connected and some not. I don't like not fully knowing, probably much like the faithfuls feel in the game 😂

TrickySparkles · 08/01/2026 17:21

Oh actually there has been one reveal that did surprise me as I didn’t have any speculation about. Max being a retired police officer! Except no one seems bothered by that and it wasn’t even mentioned in unclocked I don’t think (at least not much) which is odd as it’s a big reveal surely. Maybe as there is a DCI in there already.

I can't wait to hear more from Maz, he's not been in it much.

Me too. All we know is he is ex police and has 5 kids. So statistically one of his kids is in there - looking at you Faraaz!

Umbilicat · 08/01/2026 17:25

Agree Maz just dropped that in and it was a genuine surprise - and a lovely one.

Also agree other reveals haven't worked this year, even I spotted Ellie and Ross and I'm pretty slow at that sort of thing. The first year with the couple was a genuine shocker as was Dianne and Ross. It's not adding anything now and hope they don't do it again.

Mimosa3andmore · 08/01/2026 17:28

Stayed up late last night to watch the episode and catching up with Uncloaked now. Will catch up on tonight's episode late tonight as well!

Ross threw himself under the bus last night. If he'd kept quiet, he would still be there and Reece would have been banished instead.

Apparently the production team didn't know at the initial audition stage but when they researched them they knew they were friends on social media. Can't remember where I read that though.

Whilst the production team can set up secret relationships they can't interfere to affect the flow of the game because there is money at stake. If anyone is interested in some of the mechanics there was an interview with a senior BBC person on The Rest is Entertainment.

I bet they were frustrated that the secret traitor only lasted a few episodes.
