Your thread title is a bit of a spoiler 😂

It really is, as was the last one. That pissed me off!

Apparently he is from very humble beginnings

Who?

WonderfulSmith · 06/11/2025 23:31

Finto1111 · 06/11/2025 23:20

Who are David and Nick anyway outside of traitors?. I didn't know them

David is a tv historian. He did a really interesting series called A House Through Time where they picked a house and traced Alex the people who lived there. So the house was built in 1812 and this was what the world was like then. Mr Smith lived there and he did this job which was like this. Great series.

Nick is best known for being in Ted Lasso but he is also a magician and excellent musician , he presented some bits of Last Night of the Proms. He also wrote a great series which is now on Netflix called Intelligence .

Is that his tone, or just because it sounds professorial in that beautiful golden voice?

God I can't stand his voice. So annoying. I would have to punch him if he spoke like that to me!

Finto1111 · 06/11/2025 23:31

Who?

David, he grew up on a council estate in Gateshead

Ahh. Thanks.

I loved the end, initially wanted Alan and Cat to win but would have also been happy with a Nick/Joe combo.
Came on here for the chat as I have loved this series but a bit disappointed with the previous thread (6) which seems very critical of everyone. I think it's been a surprising success, for me the best season so far.

Yes I thought it was interesting that posters were accusing one celeb (ok, Joe) of being a bully, when so many of the comments about for example Cat were really pretty mean

Supersimkin7 · 06/11/2025 23:33

I don’t trust Alan any more. He’s not cuddly!

Finto1111 · 06/11/2025 23:33

I really liked joe!

Finto1111 · 06/11/2025 23:34

Was Alan really crying, or was he keeping the act going?

I thought I heard a small laugh come out amidst the crying...

The one about farting being such sweet sorrow? Confused

Yes exactly. How is that a spoiler. Its not

TheHallmarkedMan · 06/11/2025 23:38

Tbf if you didn’t watch that live, what are you doing with your life that can’t wait for the Celebroty Traitors finale?

CaveMum · 06/11/2025 23:42

@Finto1111 as President of the MN Chapter of “Team Nick” (😜), I happily direct you to YouTube to watch Nick, in his stand up persona of “Mr Swallow” in several editions of 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Recommend you start here:

As well as being an actor, writer, comedian, musician and all round good egg, he also has a brain the size of a planet which saw him study Geophysics at Durham before moving to Cambridge to do a PhD, which he dropped out of to pursue a career in comedy.

Just a shame his huge brain let him down in the Final 🤣🤣🤣

Love rugby, love Harlequins, Joe has driven me crazy over the years with his on-pitch antics, but he’s no bully.

He’s always reminded me of the sad clown and his mental health has been fragile at times. He’s done loads of work to support MH charities and spoken out about his own struggles. He’s a good guy IMO

Raquelos · 06/11/2025 23:42

Was Stephen Fry the only one missing from that final show? Does anyone know why he wasn't there?

pinkdelight · 06/11/2025 23:44

Lots of them weren’t there - Lucy, Joe W, Tom, Stephen and others too I should think. Just busy elsewhere most likely, nothing untoward.

RedRec · 06/11/2025 23:47

TheHallmarkedMan · 06/11/2025 23:23

David is a historian, he presents “A house in time”. Which I love.

Nick was in Ted Lasso, and he’s done loads of other things

I had only ever seen Nick doing that annoying, unfunny Mr Swallow character before but now really like him after this.

I thought I heard a small laugh come out amidst the crying...

I think it was genuine tears and emotions all
rolled into one. The realisation that you’ve won, and the relief at no longer lying about your status. It was a bit touch and go at the end, and I think he just couldn’t believe it. I actually wondered whether he almost collapsed, as David and Nick seem to support him and hold him up.

I don't know. I still don't trust Alan!

I think that the crying was part of the act.

The crying got the faithfuls to comfort Alan instead of being angry at him

I think it was a bit unfair to post a thread with a title like this less than an hour after the finale finished airing. It will pop up on active.

Anyway, Joe getting smacked in the head three times by a wooden lid then getting betrayed by his best friend was indeed some excellent TV. I’m glad he was a good sport about it and it did make me like him slightly more. I am overjoyed with the ending.

Thanks, I didn't spot the other missing faces, but I am properly shit at those memory games where you have to spot what has been removed from a selection of stuff, so maybe that's not a surprise 🙂. Thanks for sharing your list of other missing faces. Shame they couldn't all make it, I'm surprised it wasnt a contractual obligation for all of them tbh, but not having the ones that didn't make the final, wasn't hugely impactful I suppose.

The BBC posted a spoiler on instagram with a big video **about Alan winning, about five minutes after the show was over.

Once the show has been aired its everyone's responsibility to either watch the show, or stay off the internet until they do

A lot of people love him.

He is being talked about a lot on social media.

Mainly because he was right.

If he was wrong, they would be calling him a fool
