i think it was Nick said to Joe, you Said Sorry to Cat, he then suspected him

That’s it. He heard the ‘I’m sorry’ as being one traitor to another. Nick then thought that Joe had been stringing him along. It’s very easy for us as we know everything, and this is such an intense experience.

Yes but people do get very emotionally invested in their charities.

If i was hoping to give 80,000 to my local child hospice for example, and I knew they were depending on me to get it.

I would feel crushed if i didn't win

Yes but I was responding to the idea that they’d be angry at him. Would you be angry at the person who won, for playing the game? They all know they’d have lied like Alan if Claudia had tapped them in the shoulder.

In the non-celeb version there’s been anger. Probably because they’ve personally lost really significant amounts of money (even though again, they all know they’d lie as well if they were a traitor). This series has been much more jovial.

CarefulN0w · 07/11/2025 07:39

I think for all the Joe / Nick bromance, Nick and David were more alike and that makes me wonder if that fed into their trust of each other and not Joe who was a different personality type to them.

The ending felt contrived. Joe had everyone sussed had an agreement with Nick who then betrayed him. Nick's a smart guy. I also thought that Alan was quite unpleasant at times yet everyone kept saying how lovely he was! As for everyone comforting him at the end????

MrsLargeEmbodied · 07/11/2025 07:43

We heard some unpleasantness from Alan on the train

It's partly the money, and also... people just don't like being fooled. It's what the game rests on but nobody likes it. Also, this lot are mostly seasoned in TV and media so they probably view it more as performance and contrivance than other casts.

S2 did worry me a bit. Whatever happens at the castle, people are generally out of the spell and relaxed and happy on Uncloaked. But I remember thinking that even then, Molly didn't seem OK.

Tiswa · 07/11/2025 07:51

I think Joes game plan enabled Nick and David to bond into the two of them being definite faithfuls (and remember we don’t see everything) so by the end they were entirely sure about each other.

they also were allowed to speak between the cat vote off and the Joe so assume at that point they both became suspicious of Joe thought there were only 3 and therefore Alan became faithful by default.

and playing for charity money changed things I have no doubt had it been for actual money Nick and David may well have voted Alan off as well there just wasn’t the need

and with the money Alan’s Charity is a really worthy cause that no one is going to begrudge either as I am sure most of us at least know of someone whose lives have been affected by neuroblastoma

Also I think the other difference between Molly and Harry is their bond was between them in her eyes he betrayed her.

Nick and David went against Joe Alan was always fairly neutral with them

Yes I would be angry!

As I said I go to games meetups in real life. The games are similiar to how the Traitors is played.

No money is involved. People still get angry at each other and fall out at these games

Because people don't like being fooled and lied to

Finto1111 · 07/11/2025 07:52

People on my whatsapp traitors chat are now questioning if the end was scripted to add more drama. I guess we will never know

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 07/11/2025 07:56

Fantastic telly. Happy to pay my licence fee for that alone!

MrsLeonFarrell · 07/11/2025 07:58

Alan started as Linda and ended as Harry, that quote summed up the series for me.

Snapespeare · 07/11/2025 08:07

On class - it's not just about money and the job you do, it's about background and experience. I was brought up by a single parent in a poor area of London, my family is London transport mechanics and scaffolders. I went to a failing comprehensive, didn't go to university, no family car or holidays growing up. I'm now in a well paid professional job, shop at Waitrose, listen to radio 4 and enjoy cultural things associated with the middle class.. my experience growing up shapes my reactions to who I am now..so I'm arguably middle class, but my lived experience and background is firmly working class. Getting where I am now has been arguably slower and certainly more difficult because of my working class roots.

The thing I especially enjoyed about the final was the absence of toxic masculinity. Men comforting each other and saying sorry, saying I love you and cuddling. Nick Mohammed was gentle, intelligent (to a point...) and his friendship with Joe was heartwarming.

awaynboilyurheid · 07/11/2025 08:08

Loved that the traitors won ,I didn’t expect to like JR at all but his one liners were brilliant Alan changing from bag of nerves to enjoying the role then cracking after announcement, and Cat playing the logical game they deserved it! It was much harder for them. I’m going against the grain but didn’t want Joe Marler to win at all!

AuntyAngela · 07/11/2025 08:11

There was very little anger throughout the series. The cast were confident, established people who didn’t seem insecure or desperate for popularity — especially those who made it to the end. They genuinely appeared to like each other and were able to accept not winning with good grace.

The comment upthread about Joe being angry with Cat must have been a joke. If anything, he teased them the same way he told David and Nick to stay at the top of the steps. As I mentioned before, these threads are also an interesting insight into how unconscious bias can shape people’s interpretations of behaviour.

It's not exactly difficult to work out why that was a spoiler, if you had only seen up to the bit where Alan was tasked with killing someone in plain sight using 'those' words.

Once a show has been aired, nothing is a spoiler. If you haven't watched it, it's up to you to keep away from the internet.

I always want the traitors to win and this year's traitors were the best ever in terms of entertainment and strategy. Very happy the faithful didn't win.

It’s the very nature of the game though. I can imagine that you may to into it light and jolly but soon get ingrained with it and take it more seriously. However you’d be foolish to sign up to a game like traitors if you know you’re going to get angry and take things personally.

The celebrities are all already loaded and the money was going to charity so for them the money wasn’t even a factor. I can see why the likes of Molly and Frankie in the civvie series were upset but even in their cases, it’s pointless being angry when it’s the whole nature of the game.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 07/11/2025 08:14

I genuinely can’t work out how Nick, an intelligent and insightful man, could have thought Joe was a traitor given he was the (only) one who for the first few episodes was constantly trying to oust Jonathan the only person they knew by the final was actually a traitor. It would have been a bold traitor move to keep voting for a fellow traitor from the off.

Clearly not as intelligent as he seems.
Alan practically gave it away with his giggling. Cat also played a brilliant game. More power to her keeping her cool when so young and much less famous.

They weren't all established people.

Cat wasn't well known before.

Since the traitors, she has been posting about how she has reached one million followers on instagram, and how her music singles are now in the charts.

She definitely went on to raise her profile.

Was Alan really crying, or was he keeping the act going?

I thought I heard a small laugh come out amidst the crying...

Aw I think he seems like a hugely emotional person and being a traitor really stressed him out. I don’t think that was fake.

Holluschickie · 07/11/2025 08:18

I think it waa relief crying.

True, but at least she’s genuinely talented. One thing that made this cast stand out was the lack of Love Island/TOWIE types.

No I think that Alan is very media savvy.

If he was nasty at the end "yes i was a traitor hahaha" it wouldnt make him look that good.

Crying and showing remorse gets him sympathy

Cat was already well known amongst younger people, according to my dd.
