That was soooooo good!!! I can't believe the faithfulls were so close to the win and then turned on Joe,

It's not exactly difficult to work out why that was a spoiler, if you had only seen up to the bit where Alan was tasked with killing someone in plain sight using 'those' words.

He was otherwise occupied on stage in The Importance of Being Earnest, someone mentioned it on the previous thread.

I thought Alan was brilliant. Cat was a brilliant actress too always looking so confused and puzzled.

Well in the terms of class, David didn't start life as middle class (he had a poor childhood)

but surely he is middle class now.

The same with Joe Marler - he had a poor childhood, but has worked himself up to rich middle class now.

Well I don't think that anything put online after a show has already aired - is a spoiler anyway.

This was the best TV for a long time.

S2 has to have proper slebs and national treasures to make it as watchable as this, none of your love island type non-slebs, they just won't do.

My favourite Alan quote from tonight's episode has to be "I love a steam train, but not when it's packed with explosives" 😂

Nah, class isn’t fluid. If you grow up working class, as David most definitely did, fame and fortune don’t suddenly change your class.

Wayne Rooney is still working class. Andrew Windsor could have his assets seized and be offered a council house and he would remain steadfastly upper class. Takes at least a generation to change.

But I digress. What a show! Thrilled for Alan. Don’t like Joe Marler.

Voting Joe off, after he aggressively pursued Jonathan, was pretty dumb.

I'm surprised as at the start of the show I would've said Stephen, David and Nick were one of the smartest contestants, but in the end they were all unimpressive.

Of course class is fluid.. wealth goes up and down.

Class means how much money a person has.

My claim to fame is that I was born on the same day as Alan in the bed opposite, and my mum used to take me round to his mum’s apartment when we were babies and we’d play together. Not seen him since we were both about 18 though, and he’s changed a bit since then! Glad he won, though, but I think it was more the faithfuls being useless, bless them.

Agree with poster, ThePoshUns on thread 6, about the intellectual snobbery surrounding Joe. Some people still think he had no original ideas. So what? Where did these ideas get anyone else?

I think a TV star is born in Joe Marler.

A lot of people love him.

People prefer his no nonsense straight approach- to the wishy washy affected weak approach of Nick and David

Nick is getting a hard time about this, but I feel that Joe brought it on himself somewhat!

Unless I'm recalling the events wrong: Joe's stated intention (in the lounge with Nick) was that he'd be forming a fake alliance with Cat and Alan and voting to banish David. Nick looked uncomfortable about the idea of David having to go as collateral, but it made sense in a brutal kind of way (not that he agreed to follow that voting himself). So, the Joe-Nick partnership had an understanding of what would develop at banishment, and Joe went outside to bring Cat and Alan onside against David.

Come the round table, I would have become unsettled had I been Nick, and seen my supposed ally switch from David and vote for Cat! I would have doubted Joe too at that point.
