That title is a bit spoilery!

Does anyone else think Marina sounds a bit drunk on TRIE?

Lou7171 · 07/11/2025 06:50

You're still working class.

People think David is middle class because he is educated and well spoken, so mumsnetters can't get their heads around someone being working class and displaying these traits 😂

Anyway, I'm glad Alan won. He was the most entertaining and I think the tears were genuine, he looked like a nervous wreck at the end!

She is not still working class.

Do you not understand what class is?

It is about your job and how much money you have.

Oh Im sick of hearing about spoilers.

Surely people should watch the show before they go anywhere near a thread online

Yes I do, and it is more nuanced than that. I don't want to derail a thread about a reality show though....

I don't know. I still don't trust Alan!

I think that the crying was part of the act.

The crying got the faithfuls to comfort Alan instead of being angry at him

Why would they be angry at him? It is just a game that he won fair and square. I loved their reactions.

Amazing TV.

DancingTurtle · 07/11/2025 07:13

This thread is very bad tempered this morning.

You shouldn't have to avoid using the internet or mumsnet to not completely spoil the ending of a series that finished 40 minutes earlier. You just don't click on a thread entitled "Celeb Traitors #7 End Game!".

Because he lied to them obviously.

Joe was angry at Cat when he found out that she was a traitor.

Its just a game but people still have feelings. I have gone to game meetups in real life where they play similiar games to the traitors.

I have seen people properly argue and fall out at the games

DancingTurtle · 07/11/2025 07:18

I thought all of the betrayed players were incredibly gracious throughout but especially at the end.

Sure BBC themselves had spoilers out, five minutes after the show was over.

I went on intsagram. The first video that popped up was by the BBCiplayer "winner reveal". It interviews Alan

They put that up five minutes after the show was over

JoeMarlerseyes · 07/11/2025 07:19

I wanted Joe and Nick to win. but when Nick was so stupid as to vote for joe, I wanted Alan to win.

I don't understand Nick at all. It is like he sabotaged the game.

Joe told Nick that Joe was going to vote for Cat.

Then when we get to the final round tae Nick says to Joe

"Because you voted for Cat, I think you are a traitor".

ThatCyanCat · 07/11/2025 07:22

It was mega frustrating but I can see why Nick suspected Joe. He hadn't known Joe played Alan and that Alan was expecting Joe to vote differently. So Joe looked shifty.

What I don't get is why he then voted to end game. From his perspective I'd have probably thought Joe and Alan were traitors and were doing a last minute traitor betrayal. So I'd have banished them both. Might have backfired if David had voted for me instead but if a Traitor is in there, you've lost anyway.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 07/11/2025 07:24

i think it was Nick said to Joe, you Said Sorry to Cat, he then suspected him

MrsLargeEmbodied · 07/11/2025 07:24

agree the End the Game was a shock!

CarefulN0w · 07/11/2025 07:25

I’m sorry to those who don’t like the thread titles. Last night, I realised we were running out of space on the last thread and rapidly needed a new shiny one. It was the first thing off the top of my head.

I don’t think they’d have been angry.

The nice this about this series is that there’s no nastiness. In the normal version it gets a bit like that - not because they’re nastier people, but if you’ve personally just lost £100k you’re going to be a bit more emotionally involved. In the celeb version, they can stick to “it’s just a game, it’s fun” because all that’s happened is a different charity has got money.

PuppyMonkey · 07/11/2025 07:30

Good luck to anyone trying to avoid spoilers - not only is the winner all over the internet, he’s also all over the front page of newspapers.

Anyway, what could be more important in your life than watching it live last night. Serves you right.

Yes but people do get very emotionally invested in their charities.

If i was hoping to give 80,000 to my local child hospice for example, and I knew they were depending on me to get it.

I would feel crushed if i didn't win

Haha.

Yes just watch the bloody show!. You know its going to be everywhere ten minutes later

It still doesnt make sense.

Nick knew that Joe was going to vote for Cat. He told him that before the round table

Saying "sorry cat' is a fairly normal thing to say when voting for someone

WonderfulSmith · 07/11/2025 06:22

I think she means when they all met up outside on the actual finish. They don’t normally do that and the ending feels slightly flat. I remember Harry being all excited but standing there alone with a glass of bubbly.

But in the civilian version the losing finalists have just failed to win a life-changing amount of money, feelings will potentially be much more raw, especially if a traitor like Harry wins. Meeting immediately would be risky.

Tiswa · 07/11/2025 07:33

I think as always there is the version we see on tv and the perceptions of those taking part. Truth can be subjective.

I think Joe had a clear plan he knew exactly what he was doing but didn’t convey it to Nick who was then totally thrown and in that moment convinced himself that Joe had played him and acted accordingly and brought David with him

David reminds me a lot of my Dad (though he was an a level historian) and he definitely has moved from working class to middle class. We often joke about how my (very) working class grandparents would react to my very middle class Surrey children

ShesTheAlbatross · 07/11/2025 07:33

Finto1111 · 07/11/2025 00:15

Nick looked like an idiot at the end.

I think Nick was overthinking.

And I was a bit confused as to why Joe, who was totally sure Nick was a faithful, didn’t tell him that he’d pretended to team up with Alan and Cat, and told them he’d vote out David. I think that was Joe’s error - not telling Nick the plan, which meant Nick started overanalysing it all and wondering if Joe was also lying to him.

What would they have done if Nick had voted for Alan instead of Joe at that last vote? Surely a tie at that stage in the game wouldn’t have been broken by effectively a coin toss like earlier in the game?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 07/11/2025 07:33

i was so annoyed with Nick but particularly with David!
