Considering I don’t know lots of the celebrities this year, I’m surprised how many I’ve taken to.

Same here. I like Lewis, La Voix, Kaz and George having never heard of them before.

Karen was brilliant, Alex undermarked, also liked George E and Jimmy (mainly because of beautiful house and family). Sad Nancy hasn't got a partner and I think Nikita is in love with Amber

Shirley is definitely sick of all the flak she’s been taking over the past couple of series - dialling down the head judge role now!

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed George as influencers are not my thing at all! Found him very personable.

Yep most of the previous 'internet famous' have been a bit much for me (apart from Diana's Joe who didn't have the manic vibe but that might have just been compared to Di) but George Clarke (no not that one) came across quite well.

Very pleasantly surprised by George and Karen, not at all surprised by Amber and Mini-Vernon (I’ve forgotten his name already 🫣)

They are a likable bunch this year. The ringers have chemistry with their partners- some years they're technically good but the lack of chemistry can feel a bit sterile compared to dancers who are a bit less technical and more feeling.

The general standard was pretty promising too. The mid-pack have good potential.

The hardcore need somewhere to gather until next Saturday LOL. I’m going to bed now - can you post a redirection the main thread? I don’t want to lose anyone who wants to keep chatting!

Karen was amazing! She seemed uncomfortable getting feedback though, but I guess she isnt used to getting individual praise as she’d be used to being a team

I just hope that the women (celebs and pros) have a positive experience and there isn't a 'lads, lads, lads' culture which appears to have been the case last year.

Well, I've made my usual list of the people who will be in the final.
I'm usually 50% right. 🤣

I started watching very late but I whizz through the boring bits so may have missed info on the celebs.

Karen was a revelation - loved her. Alex and Johannes were woefully undermarked, especially compared to stompy, gurning Skinner. I also liked Balvinder and Jimmy of the “non dancers”. Lewis is a ringer but an entertaining one. Does Vicky always shriek constantly?

At the other end Ross was bad, Skinner was dire, Chris was stiff. Skinner’s fans will keep him in just as Pete Wicks’ fans did last year. That isn’t new, many of the sports stars only get through the first couple of weeks due to fan votes but they do mostly use that time to really work and improve - that competitive motivation kicks in. However being stuck with Skinner will afford an break in the programme to make the tea each week.

Karen was a real revelation but there were quite a few who have potential - Jimmy, Alex, Balvinder. Lewis and Nitro have bags of potential if they can rein it in and get serious about working on their technique. Amber did brilliantly and I loved her dress too

No fan of Skinner but he did better than Ross King 🤦🏻‍♂️

Karen was great, but I think her posture may let her down in the ballroom dances. I enjoyed Lewis the most, and thought the marking was quite fair for week 1 other than a couple of slight overmarks.
