This thread was requested on my previous thread ("How to watch The Pitt") so here goes.
What did you think? Favourite character? Better than ER?

Oh my goodness - I'm all wrung out from that! Need time to process it all, but the karaoke at the end was priceless!

waltercrimble · 17/04/2026 17:17

Wow. That was an episode.

YouCouldHaveASteamTrain · 17/04/2026 17:33

The karaoke was great particularly as I watched an interview with the Mel actress earlier this week and so many of the comments underneath were about understanding how people fell for Clark Kent's disguise as she looked like an entirely different person without glasses and with her hair down.

I hope next series has Robby back and in therapy and with a baby but who knows. He could easily just not come back and it be all nightshift guys.

spiderlight · 17/04/2026 18:30

@Blueskiesnotgrey- this must have been a traumatic episode for you. I hope your son was ok.

I can understand people not wanting highly medicalized births, but 'wild pregnancy'?! Is that actually a thing?!

Wouldn't it be lovely if Robbie adopted the baby though, and she was the one who helped him? Do we know what happened when he was 8?

Thank goodness Dr AlHashimi didn't drive off. I feel for her - I had to give up driving 26 years ago because of severe migraine complications and it's been a huge, huge wrench. But you just can't risk it.

Nofeckingway · 18/04/2026 03:57

I almost switched off when the credits came on only for the karaoke to start. Great ending .

Needmorelego · 18/04/2026 07:15

I'm not sure if this was genuine though.... I might have to re watch the credits. 😂😂😂😂

Apparently Dr Al didn't actually drive home.
I read an interview where the actress said they cut a bit of the scene. She left the car behind and phoned her ex husband (not sure if it was to pick her up or to say she would be late).

Nice little article about Gerran Howell from one of our local news pages.

I watched a few years old Law and Order and it had Dr Langdon as a baddy, then it had the Dr who lost his leg as a coward cop.
It's funny to see them not in The Pitt.

Taytocrisps · 28/04/2026 06:42

I caught the first two episodes last night on HBO. It's early days yet, but I thought the first two episodes were brilliant and I'll be raving about it to everyone in work, when I go in today. I won't read any of the comments in case of spoilers, but I'll come back when I've watched it all. It's very fast paced, which I liked.

Yes.....he is OUR Huckleberry 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧

I was going to come on here and say this - I'm staggered! But also that the luminous Dr Collins (Tracy Ifeachor), who must be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, is a Brit….grew up in Plymouth 😂

<creeps back to continue series 1 on HBO Max/Sky - up to ep 10 so far and don’t want it to end>

Nofeckingway · 05/05/2026 11:16

Calling somebody your Huckleberry in US apart from Huck Finn is saying that they are the right person for you or for the job . So really a compliment.

Yes but I think Santos meant it in a "farm boy" way originally (because Whittaker is from a farm in Nebraska).
She loves him though really so it's not mean.

Popping in briefly to say that I've finished watching Season 1. I don't watch a lot of TV, but I can safely say that it's one of the best TV series I've ever watched. Wondering what Season 2 will bring....... I see there are 15 episodes of Season 2, but I'm not sure if they've all been released on HBO max. Anyway, I'll come back with my comments when I've watched the whole thing. Trying to avoid spoilers.

zurigo · 12/05/2026 09:32

I'm up-to-date with series 2 and I'm not enjoying it as much as series 1. I think the hour-by-hour progress of the episodes works less well when you only get 1 episode per week.

I'm just getting a bit fed up with certain story lines - like Santos constantly being grumpy and wittering on about her charting week after week. She really is an annoying and unpleasant character - I didn't like her in series 1 and I like her even less in series 2. I wish we had more of Whitaker - he's a great character. I also really like nurse Donnie - he's very likeable.

Dr Robby too is more unpleasant this season - there's an edge to him that I don't remember in series 1. The new med students are both thoroughly irritating and I don't enjoy watching them.

Dana is great in small doses, but I think because she's such a popular character we're getting more of her this season, but I like her more when she's just a short, snarky comment or a joke.

But this week I was happy because Jack Abbott is back - he's the hottest character by far and I'd really missed him and wondered when they were going to add him back in. When he came marching in wearing fatigues I swooned and thought 'At last!' Grin

Edited

Totally agree about Dr Robby. He has become so misogynistic this season. We have just finished it and by the end. I could barely stand the sight of him. The difference in how foul he was to women he deemed to have come up short v men was so noticeable. (Apart from Langdon).

Nofeckingway · 12/05/2026 18:05

Dr Robby went from OK to horrible as the shift went on as he was really struggling with his suicidal thoughts .

MrsLargeEmbodied · 16/05/2026 07:13

i havent watched it all
i watch now as it comes out
but i am finding it frustrating waiting a week - it is made for binging imo
