This thread was requested on my previous thread ("How to watch The Pitt") so here goes.
What did you think? Favourite character? Better than ER?

Ahhh poking my head in as I love this show. I am Jewish and live in the USA. The Tree of Life shooting was horrible and I loved the storyline. What Yana said to Perlah about the Muslim community paying for all the funerals was true.

Pennsylvania is one of the states where helmets aren’t required. ER doctors usually say they’d never ride at all. I think the implication is that Robby has a bit of a death wish.

Needmorelego · 24/01/2026 20:44

@Maerchentante yes her reaction to the baby was very odd.
I wonder if they filmed all the baby scenes in one lump.
Babies change so much so quickly but it's meant to be just one day so she obviously needs to stay looking the same age.
She's a little cutie 👶

Late to the thread!
Watched S1 last year & was hooked! Finding S2 a little slower & not so hectic which isn’t keeping me on the edge of my seat like S1. Still enjoying it mind.

merrymelody · 25/01/2026 04:00

Love it!

Maerchentante · 25/01/2026 10:17

Thinking about it, I don't think Mel is going to go to her court case - I believe her head injury is more severe then initially indicated.

HighStreetOtter · 28/01/2026 14:52

Well I'm up to date and loving it. Very reminiscent of ER - not just Noah Wyle.

I love the format of the hour of the day per episode.

Do I think it's as good as ER? Not sure. ER was ground breaking, the first few seasons were amazing. I admit it lost it's way slightly to the end but for me it is my all time No1 programme. Can't believe it must be getting on for 30 years since it started if not 30 years - I was at uni so around that long ago for sure. I hired a TV from Rumbalows so I could watch ER!

Mel's sister looks so much like her. I'm off to google to see if they're related IRL.

Needmorelego · 30/01/2026 10:24

Episode 4 watched (I got up at 7am to watch it 😁).
My thoughts....
At lot going on in this episode so I've forgotten half of it all ready.
We didn't see the baby 🙁 but she was mentioned and we heard her crying.
It felt a bit like old skool ER when that Thinks He's So Smart med student tried to pull out the glass and blood started gushing everywhere.
I've got confused about what doctor level everyone is at. Santos is an R2 (second year resident) and I thought Mel was the same but she seemed to be more superior with the bulimic patient.
Poor Dr McKay having to stick her fingers up creepy guy's arse. I assume she no longer has her ankle tag if she can make plans to go out after work.
If cutting off the whole eyelash solved the problem why didn't Dr Langdon do that in the first place?
It must be terrifying to live in USA as a diabetic if you have no health insurance. That poor man 🙁
What else happened....oh Huckleberry possibly has a girlfriend 😍

Just watched it and bounced straight to this thread! Had we seen the woman at the end with the infected leg before? I reckon that's going to be necrotising fasciitis.

The new doctor said something about Santos repeating her R2 year. Mel was definitely more on the ball with the bulimic patient.

I'd have cut the eyelashes off straight away as well. There seemed to be an awful lot of fannying around with that patient for something relatively cosmetic, but I guess it was just to introduce the idea that Vic is some kind of viral TikTok superdoctor on the side.

Needmorelego · 30/01/2026 14:46

@spiderlight I think the leg lady was one of those patients we saw briefly in an earlier episode and we (the viewers) are expected to think it's nothing serious.
But this is The Pitt....so anything can happen 😁

Mel was an R2 last year, so now she's an R3. Whitaker is an R1/intern, Santos has started her R2, McKay is an R3, and Mohan is an R4. The year has just started (it starts on 1 July) so Al-Hashimi is really jumping the gun on Santos! Javadi is now an MS4.

Needmorelego · 30/01/2026 20:23

@knitnerd90 oh yes ! Mel did a year at a different hospital (the VA) so she's a year ahead of Santos.
Makes sense now.

Love it! Binged series 1 so will find it really frustrating watching an episode a week now.

spiderlight · 06/02/2026 11:52

"Like an ice-cream scoop" 🤣🤢🤣

Needmorelego · 06/02/2026 11:57

@spiderlight it was sooooo obvious Mr Know It All student was going to get covered in 💩💩💩💩
😂

Thanks to @Needmorelego for sharing how to watch . Binged series 1 started Series 2 and awaiting next episode . Very reminiscent of ER and as Noah Wyle has so much involvement hardly surprising. Both Emergency rooms where I suppose you get quicker and frequent storylines for patients . ER was the first to use real medical terms , remembering we all were using the phrase STAT a lot !

Anyone else notice how often ketamine is used for pain ? Guess it's the new thing as I always thought it was used by vets to tranquilise horses, so not surprising many addicts are trying it.
Characters are interesting but Santos is a bit cliche . I think maybe new doctor either lost a baby or knew of one previously . Like the real time 1 hour of a shift format .
If you do see any early episodes of ER , look at how young Noah is !

Needmorelego · 12/02/2026 21:10

@Soonenough it was @dozycuntlaters who gave me the link originally so big thanks to her 🙂
Episode 6 tonight. Well technically tomorrow UK time. Yippee. It's my Friday excitement.

OP posts:
Needmorelego · 13/02/2026 11:00

Just watched episode 6.
Louie 😭😭😭😭😭
Lots going on in this episode with more of the nurses and all they do. Brilliant to see. This episode was definitely more about the nurses rather than the doctors.
I am very concerned what the lady with cancer is going to do. I think she wants to die and it all be over for her 😭
I'm starting to feel sorry for Santos. She seems very overwhelmed and unhappy. Dr Al and her fancy AI ideas causing more trouble.
I'm convinced Dr Al is actually a robot and "Al" should actually be "AI". She's weirdly unemotional and obsessed with technology. Although she was sweet with the baby.
She said "some babies do smile at 4 weeks" and last episode mentioned she had a child - is she going for the whole "my child has always been soooooooo advanced" bragging thing.
So....hot dogs for lunch 🌭🤢

OP posts:
spiderlight · 13/02/2026 13:19

Poor Louie, and poor Whittaker - he had a real bond with him.

I think the lady with cancer just wants to slip away quietly and end her pain, without her husband having to be there.

Soonenough · 13/02/2026 23:45

Think cancer lady just wants pain relief and not die at home with her husband fussing around her. Santos is in danger of burnout . No hint of romance among the workers yet . Think some minor characters are coming forward with more storylines . And I have a horrible feeling that Dr. Robby will ride off into the sunset at the end of shift and have an accident sans helmet and that will be the cliffhanger until Series 3 .

How's that for a spoiler 😷😠

Needmorelego · 20/02/2026 12:02

Episode 7.
Sort of halfway though the season now....
Awwwww Santos singing to the baby 🥹
Dr Robby really picks his moment to essentially tell Langdon he doesn't trust him. No good timing mate... really not.
What's going on with Dr Perfect? Sorry... I mean Dr Al.
Another spacing out moment and that phone call.
The ending....well I had read that the hospital loses all it's technology so I have been expecting it since episode 1. Dana said can't leave the room she's in until all the evidence is done and she's now there on her own. She won't have a clue what's happening.
So now we are probably going back to what it was like back in Season 1 of ER (30 years ago 😱) and it's all going to be pens and paper perhaps it will dawn on them that they should have given the deaf lady a piece of paper and a pen hours ago.

OP posts:
Needmorelego · 20/02/2026 12:17

More thoughts....
So Dr Al said she worked in maternity in Kabul. Maybe that's why she spaced out a bit in episode 1 with the baby because she was having bad memories.....

OP posts:
spiderlight · 20/02/2026 18:09

They packed a lot into that episode!! Sad to see Santos's self-harm scars 😢

It's running in parallel with Casualty at the moment with the rape/evidence storyline. It will be interesting to see how they both play out. I do like Dana - she'd be a great person to have in your corner in a crisis.

I've been getting so frustrated for the deaf lady. Couldn't they have used a tablet to talk to her in text form, or given her a pen and paper. Yes, it's slower than sign, but it would have been a hell of a lot quicker than two failed attempts with interpreters!

Needmorelego · 20/02/2026 18:28

@spiderlight I totally missed Santo's scars. It was only after reading in some Facebook groups that I realised about it.
I might have to go back and watch again.
I also read on a group that apparently it's a legal thing that they can't just use a pen and paper with the deaf lady because as she had requested a signer they have to provide one 🤷
All a bit ironic as the whole department is going that way now.
The singing to the baby was lovely but I just kept thinking "pick her up, give her a cuddle" 👶
On Facebook there's some screenshots of The Board before it shut down.
Baby Jane Doe has her age listed as XX because they don't actually know 😭🥹

OP posts:
Needmorelego · 20/02/2026 19:16

I managed to find the screenshot.
I notice there's a patient with the nurses being Dana and Emna listed as "headache". Is that the assault victim?
They put it down as headache for privacy?

My thoughts:

Al Hashimi and the Army/Police Doctor will be the ones who will cope best without technology due to their experience in war torn countries.

I have a feeling, Victoria is a bit of a pawn between her parents and it would not surprise me if she finally cracked and stood up against them.

The picture had the young football player down as "syncopal episode" and for cooling protocol. There's probably more to it. The students mentioned Brugada Syndrome and Langdon was a bit too quick to dismiss that for my liking.
Story time here: I have a sister with Brugada, it was only discovered after she collapsed with a sudden cardiac arrest, first put down to pulmonary embolism. It was only when in an induced coma that the doctors had their first inkling that it was the heart, not the lung, after she was given propofol. Because she has that, I had to be tested, too. Luckily I don't have it but testing was quite extensive and certainly not as easy as saying "It's a rare condition that you don't have".

I'm sure we'll see more of the football player in the coming episodes.

I will have to wait until 2nd March for the next episode as I'm away next weekend.
