Thought I’d sound the KLAXON and round everyone up for some Strictly chat about possible/rumoured contestants. They usually start announcing soon!

Yes the new pros are great and on social media all the time. Julian is 30 today and has his girlfriend living with him, he is gym obsessed!
Alexis is fab, I love her already.

I also learnt from Dianne's post last night that Joe Sugg's management agency manages George Clarke.

I saw that about George, joe suggs is really savvy and has carved himself a great career, although I hope George isnt paired with Dianne it would look a bit off i think.

@Coffeeishot , yes I agree re Dianne/George. It really shows how "showbiz/celeb media" is all so interlinked.

I would like Dianne to get another older sleb, though. She was wonderful with Chris, really came into her own and seemed to grow up, for want of a better phrase.

I have been looking up the new pros and read about the pros on this year.

@bizzey , Alexis won So you think you can dance in 2022 and became part of the pro group on DWS but has not had a partner. A bit like Jowita won the dance show in the U.K. in 2020 and moved to Strictly.

Shirley has lots of links to DWS via her son and great friend Derek Hough and Craig is a judge on DWS Australia so they will be familiar with the new pros.

Dianne is a fan of Neighbours, and Stefan is an older sleb, so that fits your criteria too.

If he's not with Dianne, then I'd like to see him with Katya.

Perhaps I worded this badly.

Some people seem to expect Johannes to get paired with La Voix because he's performed in drag, so they have something in common.

Putting Dianne with Stefan as a team then also makes sense because they are both Aussies in the UK, so they have that in common.

We need to remember as well that the Pro who wins the previous year is (usually) partnered with someone perceived to be lacking in promise. I think Team Aussie is cute though, obvious or not.

Yes, I absolutely see that they do tend to give Johannes gay men and are likely to give him a drag queen.
I can see why they would put two Aussies together, by your criteria; my point was just that doing so seems rather on the nose to me.

Carlos is also gay he might be paired with La voix.

Is the launch show this week? It seems we haven't really had much promo for the forthcoming series.

For some reason, I don't really miss it. All the other stuff has cast a shadow. Maybe I'll find my enthusiasm once it's started properly.

Hello, I always read this thread but tend not to get involved as I can not keep up with you all! Strictly is just such a lovely thing, despite the press continously trying to tell us the whole show is 'in turmoil' and full of scandal.

I am starting to get ready by watching my favorite dances and moments. It is a Saturday night show watching people learn to dance at the end of the day, and mostly every season throws us surprises, whether we have heard of them or not. So Kelvin coming on as a standby with little rehearsal time with a big grin and delivering that joyful dance, the lovely Debbie McGhee living her best life, and Ed Balls Samba etc. It is just pure happiness.

I realise that lots of mumsnet have huge issues with drag artists, but I am very excited to see Le Voix. They were amazing on Drag Race, proper old school drag. I have met them on occasion through a friend and they are funny, warm, acerbic and incredibly talented.

@willstarttomorrow Have you you seen the performances of Shane Jenek/ Courtney Act on DWTS Australia? He did some dances as himself. I wonder if La Voix will do similar… Available on YouTube
