Thought I’d sound the KLAXON and round everyone up for some Strictly chat about possible/rumoured contestants. They usually start announcing soon!

I’ve read that bbc apparently released it’s not linked to anyone linked to the current season.
Ive seen one name note don quote a few comments pages etc. I do wonder if they will share any further information to stop the gossiping etc. Although, like one person has said, releasing names etc isn’t fair u less it’s proven!

I'm reading it as 1 of the male celebrities who went on the live tour in Jan 25 and is not married and in their 30's.

The married male celeb who went on the tour and is in his 30's is currently on a freebie family holiday abroad and posts about it on insta constantly so it isn't him!

And probably in true Strictly style it will be ‘nothing to see here’ from Tess and Claudia. Just how wonderful for the contestants to be on the show and part of the Strictly family.

What does everyone think about the story that they're introducing a Partner Swap Week? Is this going to be on top of the rather dull Icons Week from last year? There have been quite a few occasions when a celeb has had a new lease of life when handed a temp pro: JB was much more dynamic when partnered with Lauren; Anastacia was like a new woman when partnered with Gorka; ditto Michelle Williams when she was with Ian; ditto Alex Footballer Person when she was with Kevin.

However, what happens when the whole joy of the partnership is the chemistry and you've got a top pro and the choreography is great and the public are invested in the two of you and then you get lumbered with a second tier pro and you don't really gel and they're one of the ones who can't really choreograph ballroom and you've got a ballroom? Or, alternatively, what if someone does their best dance - one of those Goes Down in Strictly History dances, the dance you want to see again in the final and on the tour and when they come back as the series winners for the next year's Launch Show - with their other partner?

I'm not keen on the idea. I know they say you have to refresh the show and stop it going stale but new pros, the occasional new judge and a new cast of celebs every year does that anyway. Throwing too many changes at a successful format often has the effect of tanking a programme that already had an audience.

I think that Swap Week has worked well in the USA and Ireland. It’s worth giving it a try if they feel SCD is getting stale.

I think they should merge movie and musicals week too.

So sad that this type of news has come out just as preparations for the new series are under way. It's cast a shadow on everything to do with what Strictly is about.

You see, I've tried watching the American version of the show and I didn't enjoy it. All filler and very little time spent on the routines. I just found it a bit frantic and soulless.

I literally just watch routines not the show as a whole

They aren't doing switch up week - paper reported it but producer said not happening.

DWTS was fab with Tom presenting.
When they let him go, they made a mistake.
I just watch the routines too.
Bloody loved Mark Ballas's choreo. Shirley should be rightly proud.

My favourite contestant though was Meryl (ice skater). She was breathtaking.

They should definitely merge movie week with musicals week - either that or ban couples from choosing musicals in movie week. I also really dislike the tendency to choose animated films for movie week - The Simpsons is the one no one can forget but all the minions/trolls/disney shite is really overdone too.

I prefer musicals week to film week which i hate, i also don't like couples choice all that maudlin my grans dog died so here is my interpretive dance nonsense, Just stopit!

Although when they do happy couples choices they are usually better,

Normally, I agree BUT Rose’s couples choice was one of my favourite Strictly dances ever, along with Faye and Giovanni’s Halloween one. Also loved Bill Bailey’s! The sparky, innovative ones are great but, like you, I hate the mawkish barefoot floaty contempowaft nonsense.
